Though he didn’t do much scoring, Diabaté was still able to make a big impact in this game. He is currently the only healthy center for Charlotte, which means he has been starting and has seen a big bump in minutes. He had a couple double-doubles late in December and is certainly capable of scoring more, but that hasn’t happened consistently. Still, until Ryan Kalkbrenner returns, Diabaté should be rostered.

Diabaté returned to action after a two-game absence on Monday, playing 29 minutes as the starting center in a blowout win over the Thunder. PJ Hall has taken on the backup center responsibilities, as Charlotte is without Ryan Kalkbrenner and Mason Plumlee.

Diabaté is set to return after missing the last two games with a wrist injury. The 23-year-old could even be in the starting lineup against the Thunder, with PJ Hall moving to the bench. Salaün is back after missing one game with an ankle injury. Neither play is expected to be on a minutes limit Monday.

Diabaté is on track to return following a two-game absence, and he could slot back in as Charlotte’s starting center, pushing PJ Hall to the bench. Salaün is back in action after one game on the sideline, and he could handle his usual allotment of minutes in the Hornets’ rotation.

Diabaté has missed Charlotte’s last two games with a sprained right wrist. With Ryan Kalkbrenner and Mason Plumlee already out, the Hornets turned to PJ Hall to fill the void at the center position. He’ll get another start if Diabaté cannot return on Monday.

Diabaté injured his wrist during Wednesday’s loss to the Warriors. While he remained in the game after getting taped up, he will not be able to go on Friday. PJ Hall will play rotation minutes out of necessity, but he is not worth the streaming risk.

Diabaté sprained his right wrist during Wednesday’s loss to the Warriors but returned after getting taped up. With Ryan Kalkbrenner and Mason Plumlee out, the latter for six weeks, the Hornets will be in a tough spot if Diabaté can’t play. PJ Hall and Tidjane Salaün have played rotation minutes recently, and that would remain the case on Friday.

On the heels of an 18-rebound explosion earlier this week, Diabaté posted his second consecutive double-double, pulling down a game-high 13 boards. The 23-year-old center isn’t much of a scoring threat since his game is mostly limited to around the rim, but he’s making an impact for fantasy purposes as an elite rebounder, averaging 12 boards over his last four games. He’ll be a relevant fantasy option in deeper fantasy formats until rookie Ryan Kalkbrenner (elbow) is ready to return.

Diabaté was perfect from the floor and recorded a double-double by the conclusion first half of this one, finishing with a season-high 18 rebounds in an impressive fantasy effort. The Hornets outscored the Wizards 64-44 in the second half to pull away for a relatively easy win after struggling to get things going in the early stages of the contest. The 23-year-old big man, who drew his second straight start in place of an injured Ryan Kalkbrenner (elbow) isn’t much of a scoring threat but he’s averaging 10.3 rebounds over his last four games. He makes sense as a temporary streaming option in deeper fantasy formats.

With both Ryan Kalkbrenner (elbow) and Mason Plumlee (groin) out, Diabaté will get the starting nod. Tidjane Salaun will likely fill the backup center minutes off the bench in smaller lineups, but Diabaté should play significant minutes as the only true center option.

Initially questionable for Friday’s game, Diabaté was upgraded to probable earlier in the day. He’s now officially available to play, which will impact the Hornets’ center rotation. Mason Plumlee will likely fall out of the rotation entirely, but this does not affect fantasy basketball.

Diabaté sat out Sunday’s matchup with Denver, which allowed Mason Plumlee to join the rotation. With Diabaté expected to play, he could reclaim his role as Charlotte’s primary backup center, leaving fewer minutes available for Plumlee.

Diabaté has been hobbled by a sore right knee, most recently sitting out Sunday’s loss to the Nuggets. Mason Plumlee played rotation minutes off the bench, serving as Ryan Kalkbrenner’s backup. If Diabaté can play on Friday, Plumlee will likely fall out of the rotation entirely.

Diabaté has been downgraded from questionable to out, which means Ryan Kalkbrenner will retain his place in the starting lineup. Mason Plumlee should play rotation minutes as the backup center, but that is not a good spot to find fantasy value. Leave him on the waiver wire.

Wednesday’s start will be the first for Diabaté since November 14, and the lineup change raises his fantasy ceiling. His promotion comes at the expense of Ryan Kalkbrenner, who will still see solid time off the bench. However, Kalkbrenner is more valuable to fantasy managers when he’s starting.

Diabaté took over for Ryan Kalkbrenner, who left with an ankle injury. The 23-year-old power forward started the second half and played a total of 25 minutes. Diabaté had just six points as the Hornets have no shortage of other scorers, but he’s averaging 10.1 points, 8.2 rebounds and 22 minutes this year. If Kalkbrenner were to miss time, Diabaté would certainly be worth rostering in most leagues.

With Ryan Kalkbrenner back after a one-game absence, Diabaté returned to playing a role off the bench. That didn’t slow Diabaté down; he recorded his second straight double-double and his fifth of the season. His upside is limited as a reserve, but he played just under 24 minutes, while Kalkbrenner played 26 minutes. There is enough time for both of them to provide decent numbers, but it may not come consistently enough for Diabaté.

Diabaté will get his first start of the season with Ryan Kalkbrenner (sidelined), and Ball will return to the starting unit after missing the Hornets’ last five games. Ball’s return will push Collin Sexton to the bench, eliminating most of the streaming value he held.

After playing 22 minutes off the bench in Friday’s loss to the Heat, Diabaté played more than starter Ryan Kalkbrenner on Monday. The fourth-year forward/center was the more active of the two defensively, recording five “stocks” in 29 minutes while Kalkbrenner (nine points and four rebounds in 19 minutes) got into early foul trouble and was not responsible for any steals or blocked shots. Both players will log rotation minutes, but who plays more may come down to a “hot hand” situation for Hornets head coach Charles Lee. Diabaté was the superior performer on Monday, so he played more.

Charlotte’s centers combined to block seven shots on Friday. Starter Ryan Kalkbrenner (10 points, five rebounds) was responsible for four blocks while Diabaté contributed three, along with his third double-double of the season. Despite coming off the bench, Diabaté has provided solid late-round value in 12-team formats, which is why he’s rostered in 13 percent of Yahoo! leagues. He’s worth holding onto in deep leagues.

Diabaté is basically sharing the center role with Ryan Kalkbrenner. While Diabaté came off the bench on Sunday, he played 23 minutes to Kalkbrenner’s 22. He also had a double-double while Kalkbrenner managed just four points and five rebounds. Diabaté is unlikely to take over the primary center role for himself without an injury to Kalkbrenner, but he can still have value in his current role.

Cisse, who was not selected in the 2025 draft after five seasons at Memphis, Oklahoma State and Ole Miss, was in training camp with the Mavericks. The 6-foot-11 center did enough to earn a two-way deal, and he should spend most of his time with the Texas Legends of the G League. This transaction does not impact fantasy basketball.

Hornets head coach Charles Lee alternated starting centers throughout the preseason, with Diabaté making three starts and rookie Ryan Kalkbrenner getting the other two. While Mason Plumlee (three points and three rebounds in 10 minutes) also played rotation minutes during the preseason, most of the minutes went to either Diabaté or Kalkbrenner (6/1/2/0/1 in 15 minutes). Who starts Wednesday’s regular-season opener against the Nets remains to be seen. Still, Diabaté and Kalkbrenner may get most of the playing time based on the breakdown of the preseason minutes.

Ryan Kalkbrenner remained in the starting unit at center for Charlotte in this game, but Diabate was able to make a bigger impact off the bench. The position battle between Kalkbrenner, Diabate and Mason Plumlee is a vital one for fantasy hoops; if Kalkbrenner or Diabate gets the nod, either will be worth taking at the end of drafts. However, Plumlee won’t be worth a selection, even if he plays a significant role.

France’s frontcourt depth took a hit when Vincent Poirier was forced to withdraw due to a right knee injury. The national team reached out to Diabaté to gauge his interest in rejoining the roster after being cut on August 8, but the 6-foot-9 power forward/center has reportedly decided to focus on preparing for the upcoming 2025-26 NBA season. And this is one where the Hornets post may have his best shot at earning consistent minutes. With the Hornets trading Mark Williams to the Suns, the competition for minutes at center consists of Diabaté, veteran Mason Plumlee and second-round pick Ryan Kalkbrenner. If Diabaté can earn the starting job, he would be worth a look in the latter rounds of standard league drafts. He appeared in 71 games last season, averaging 5.8 points, 6.2 rebounds, 0.6 steals and 0.6 blocks in 18.5 minutes.

The Hornets played Friday’s game without Mark Williams. And while Jusuf Nurkic (eight points, eight rebounds, three assists and one blocked shot in 24 minutes) was his replacement in the starting lineup, the change also freed up additional opportunities for Diabate. The third-year big man took advantage, recording his seventh double-double of the season and his first since March 8. Given Williams’s injury history, Diabate will have a few more opportunities before the season ends.

Diabate had to be helped off the court on Tuesday and wasn’t able to put any weight on his leg after injuring his knee on Tuesday. Two days later, he’ll be good to go. That means he’ll continue to split the center minutes with Jusuf Nurkic off the bench. Mark Williams should sit out the second night of the back-to-back on Friday, which makes Diabate’s availability interesting. Charlotte could have opted to stagger their availability, though this could mean that Diabate will play both legs of the back-to-back despite the injury.

Diabate suffered what appeared to be a serious right leg injury during Tuesday’s loss to the Hawks. However, the fact that he’s considered questionable for Thursday night means he likely dodged a bullet. If Diabate cannot play against the Knicks, Jusuf Nurkic will likely see more time after logging 17 minutes in Tuesday’s defeat.
