Dennis is officially available after being listed as probable on the initial injury report. With Quenton Jackson (hamstring) unavailable, Dennis will play rotation minutes. He isn’t a must-stream player on an 11-game night, but he’s worth watching for future games.

Dennis played eight minutes off the bench in Monday’s loss to the Bucks. If he can take on a heavier workload, the playing time will be available, as the Pacers won’t have Quenton Jackson (hamstring) available. However, Dennis isn’t a must-stream player.

As expected, Dennis will be available to suit up after Pacers coach Rick Carlisle said that he was expecting him to be available. Dennis will fill out the reserve point guard minutes behind Quenton Jackson, which won’t be enough time for him to provide any meaningful impact in the box score.

Dennis has a lower back sprain, hence his inclusion on Monday’s injury report. If he’s unable to play, Taelon Peter will be in line to play more than the five minutes he logged in Saturday’s win over the Warriors. Queton Jackson, who was spectacular as the starting point guard against Golden State, is the player to target on waiver wires.

Dennis was not in the starting lineup on Wednesday, but he was among the Pacers’ finishers. The two-way contract guard shot 4-of-7 from beyond the arc, providing the Pacers with much-needed production off the bench. Starter Ben Sheppard (4/8/2 in 25 minutes) shot 1-of-7 from the field, and he isn’t much of a point guard. Dennis will have value if the Pacers remain severely shorthanded, but not to the point where he needs to be rostered in standard leagues.

The Pacers, who were already thin at guard, saw both Bennedict Mathurin (foot) and Taelon Peter (groin) leave early. That leaves Dennis, Aaron Nesmith and Ben Sheppard as the only guard options in Indiana. Though the extent of these injuries is unclear at this point, Dennis could be a significant piece in the Pacers’ rotation in the short-term, where he can be a decent source of dimes in deeper leagues.

With Quenton Jackson inactive, Dennis was the lone two-way player to see action for the Pacers in the team’s summer league finale. He was an effective playmaker on Friday, recording a game-high 11 assists while committing just three turnovers. Dennis and Jackson will be worth tracking during training camp as the Pacers continue without the injured Tyrese Haliburton. While neither is likely to be in a position to be a reliable fantasy option from the start, there may be times when Dennis or Jackson has some streaming value in deep leagues due to injuries.

Indiana’s two two-way contract players led the way on Thursday, with Dennis and Quenton Jackson combining to score 50 points. Looking ahead to next season, they’re in similar situations, as minutes will be available for someone to absorb with Tyrese Haliburton sidelined. That makes summer league crucial for Dennis and Jackson, and they may be competing for minutes on the back end of the rotation when training camp opens in September.
