ESPN’s Shams Charania reports that Spencer Dinwiddie has agreed to a one-year deal with the Hornets.

With D’Angelo Russell in Dallas, Dinwiddie became the odd man out in the backcourt, and he’ll take on a backup role behind LaMelo Ball. Given Ball’s voluminous injury history, it wouldn’t be surprising if Dinwiddie played enough to make meaningful contributions for fantasy managers.

    Recap

Spencer Dinwiddie accounted for 18 points (7-of-13 FGs, 2-of-3 FTs), three rebounds, four assists and two three-pointers in 29 minutes in Friday’s loss to the Clippers.

Dinwiddie has reached double figures in four straight and 12 of his last 13 games. Since moving into the starting lineup on March 19, the Mavericks’ guard has provided fifth-round value in eight- and nine-cat formats. Dinwiddie hasn’t been the most reliable fantasy option for most of his career. Still, the current injury situation in Dallas makes him a must-roster player for Saturday’s game against the Clippers. He’s rostered in 52 percent of Yahoo! leagues, so managers in shallow leagues can find Dinwiddie on the waiver wire.

Spencer Dinwiddie had 14 points (5-of-11 FGs), four rebounds, 10 assists, two steals and two three-pointers against the Hawks on Wednesday.

Dinwiddie’s excellent run as the Mavericks’ starting point guard continued Wednesday. The 31-year-old had another double-double with 14 points and 10 assists. Dinwiddie has had a double-double in two of his last three games. He’s been a top-50 fantasy player over the last two weeks and could be one of the better waiver wire finds of the end of the season.

    Recap

Spencer Dinwiddie finished with 11 points (4-of-11 FGs), five rebounds, eight assists, one steal and one three-pointer against the Nets on Monday.

Dinwiddie has had an excellent stretch as the starting point guard for Dallas. He has started at point guard for their last seven games and has had at least seven assists in six of those. He has also scored in double figures in 10 of their last 11 games. Monday’s performance wasn’t his best as a scorer, but he still ranks inside the top-50 in nine-cat leagues over the past two weeks and will look to keep that going over their final three games of the week, starting against the Hawks on Wednesday.

Spencer Dinwiddie had 14 points (6-of-11 FGs), eight rebounds, 11 assists, one block and two three-pointers in the Mavericks’ 120-119 victory over the Bulls on Saturday.

Dinwiddie’s play has been exceptional of late as he’s provided top-75 fantasy value over the last two weeks. The 31-year-old point guard has been the primary beneficiary of Kyrie Irving’s absence as he’s getting to run the show in Dallas. Dinwiddie’s scoring can fluctuate, but he’s a reliable assist man with at least seven assists in six of his last seven games. He should be rostered in all leagues at this point.

    Recap

Spencer Dinwiddie logged 35 minutes in Tuesday’s loss to the Knicks, scoring 13 points (4-of-11 FGs, 3-of-4 FTs), four rebounds, seven assists, two blocks and two three-pointers.

Dinwiddie has dished out at least seven assists in five straight games and hit double figures in scoring in eight straight. Rostered in 50 percent of Yahoo! leagues, the Mavericks’ guard has provided excellent value in recent games. Over the past two weeks, Dinwiddie has provided top-75 value in eight- and nine-cat formats. After years of being challenging to trust in fantasy leagues, Dallas’ depleted roster has considerably raised Dinwiddie’s fantasy ceiling. With the Mavericks still in contention for a play-in spot, fantasy managers needing assists should roster Spencer.

Spencer Dinwiddie accounted for 16 points (7-of-10 FGs), one rebound, 12 assists, four steals and two three-pointers in 29 minutes in Monday’s win over the Nets.

Given his fantasy basketball track record, Dinwiddie wasn’t a lock to provide reliable fantasy value once inserted into the Mavericks starting lineup on March 19. However, the veteran point guard has made the most of his opportunity. Over the past week, Dinwiddie has provided first-round value in nine-cat formats and top-20 in eight-cat. While he can be a risky fantasy play, Spencer is on a heater and should be rostered for the rest of Week 21.

With the Mavericks roster decimated by injuries, he continues to have big games. Dinwiddie’s primary competition for minutes going forward is Brandon Williams, who is still on a two-way contract.

Spencer Dinwiddie, Naji Marshall, PJ Washington, Kessler Edwards and Kai Jones will start Wednesday’s game against the Pacers.

The Mavericks are without Klay Thompson and Brandon Williams, opening up two spots in the starting lineup. Dinwiddie has been moved from the bench to fill one of the voids, with Jones receiving the nod for the other. Wednesday’s game is the first for Jones since March 5, as he has been out with a quad injury.

Spencer Dinwiddie accounted for 20 points (9-of-15 FGs, 0-of-1 FTs), three rebounds, three assists, and two three-pointers in 34 minutes in Friday’s loss to the Rockets.

Inconsistent since the All-Star break, Dinwiddie has been more productive over the Mavericks’ last three games. He scored 20 or more in two outings, including Friday’s loss to the Rockets. Dinwiddie has never been a great player to have rostered in category leagues, but he’s worth the risk currently out of necessity. The Mavericks were already down multiple contributors, and they lost Dante Exum to a broken hand during the first half of Friday’s game. Dinwiddie is worth adding for Sunday’s game against the 76ers, but the Mavericks only play two games during Week 20.

Spencer Dinwiddie led the Mavericks with 28 points (9-of-16 FGs), seven rebounds, six assists, one steal and four three-pointers in a 133-129 win over the Spurs on Monday.

Though Dinwiddie didn’t move into the starting lineup with Brandon Williams (hamstring) sidelined, he was still able to have a fantastic night off the bench. He led Dallas in scoring and was one of four players to score at least 20 points for them. He fell short of his season-high for points, but he did have his highest-scoring game since January. Dinwiddie hasn’t been great since Kyrie Irving went down, but he was awesome on Monday. He’ll look to keep it going in their rematch with San Antonio on Wednesday.

    Recap

Spencer Dinwiddie shot 3-of-7 from the field and 1-of-4 from the foul line in Wednesday’s loss to the Bucks, scoring eight points with one rebound, six assists, four steals, one block and one three-pointer in 29 minutes.

Dinwiddie started Wednesday’s game for the injured Kyrie Irving, who suffered a season-ending torn ACL on Monday. While he didn’t provide much value as a scorer, category league managers should be able to benefit from the assists and steals. Rostered in 31 percent of Yahoo! leagues, Dinwiddie is ranked outside the top 300 in eight- and nine-cat formats since the All-Star break. However, the situation makes him a player worth rolling the dice on in standard leagues.

Spencer Dinwiddie, Max Christie, Klay Thompson, Naji Marshall and Dwight Powell will start Wednesday’s game against the Bucks.

Wednesday’s game is the Mavericks’ first since losing Kyrie Irving to a torn ACL. As expected, Dinwiddie will fill the void in the starting lineup and should be rostered for the rest of the season. The other changes are Christie and Marshall, who replace Dante Exum (foot) and Kessler Edwards. Due to the Mavericks’ many injuries, Christie and Marshall should be rostered moving forward.
