Embiid wasn’t initially on the injury report, and this isn’t a back-to-back, which makes this update scary. Hopefully it’s just an opportunity for them to get him some extra rest since they only have one more game left this week. Andre Drummond should be in line for another start, with Adem Bona filling out the reserve minutes.

Embiid is back after sitting out Sunday’s loss to the Pistons, which was Philadelphia’s second game in as many nights. His return means Andre Drummond will head back to the bench; he and Adem Bona will take a hit to their fantasy values. Philadelphia only plays two games during Week 4; hopefully, Embiid won’t have any availability issues.

Embiid will get Sunday off for injury management on the second leg of a back-to-back set. In his absence, Adem Bona and Andre Drummond should see additional playing time.

Embiid’s first game of the season was rough, but since then, he has scored at least 20 points in every game he has played in, despite the minutes restriction. He set a new season-high for scoring in this one, which helped the 76ers snap a two-game losing streak. Embiid’s 26 minutes also matched his season-high. It’s great to see him progressing, but he still isn’t ready to play back-to-backs; expect him to be listed as out against the Pistons on Sunday, which will allow Adem Bona to start and Andre Drummond to play extra minutes off the bench.

Embiid did not play in Wednesday’s loss to the Cavaliers due to injury management, with Adem Bona replacing him in the starting lineup. Bona will remain in the rotation on Saturday, and he does not offer much streaming value in that role. However, the second-year forward/center is worth holding onto in extremely deep leagues, as the 76ers face the Pistons on Sunday.

Unsurprisingly, Embiid won’t be available for the second night of the 76ers’ back-to-back. Adem Bona should fill in as the starter, with Andre Drummond taking on extra minutes off the bench. Embiid should be back to play one the 76ers’ games this weekend, since it will be another back-to-back.

Embiid’s performance on Tuesday was a tale of two halves. In the first 24 minutes, he shot 6-of-9 from the field and scored 18 points. After halftime, the 7-footer shot 1-of-12 from the field and scored just two points. Embiid wasn’t moving well, spending most of his time on the perimeter. He’s still restricted, playing 13 minutes in each half of Tuesday’s game. However, the second half was a clear reminder that Embiid has a long way to go regarding his health and stamina. Fantasy managers received a solid stat line, but it could have been much better.

Embiid is back in the lineup after missing Sunday’s win over the Nets, pushing Adem Bona to the bench. Embiid won’t surpass 25 minutes on Tuesday as he continues to work toward full strength.

Embiid is back after sitting out Sunday’s win over the Nets. He’ll likely remain on a minutes limit (20-25 minutes thus far), and the 76ers also play Wednesday night in Cleveland. Adem Bona will head to the bench in Chicago, but it’s likely that he’ll be back in the starting lineup the following night.

Embiid remains restricted to 20-25 minutes per game, and the 76ers also give him the occasional night off to help manage the 7-footer’s workload. He’ll sit out Sunday’s game against the Nets, opening up a space in the starting lineup for Andre Drummond or Adem Bona. While Bona has a slightly higher ceiling, he struggles to avoid foul trouble.

Embiid scored at least 20 points for the third consecutive game. The 31-year-old center is only playing about 20-25 minutes per game in an effort to keep him fresh later in the season. Embiid can’t give fantasy managers those ceiling games they’re used to without playing more minutes, but he’s certainly been effective when he’s been on the floor so far this year.

Back in the lineup after sitting out Monday’s win over the Magic, Embiid was supposed to be on a limit of 20 minutes. He played 23 against the Wizards, and the production was solid in a case of good news for fantasy managers. Embiid grabbed his 5,000th career rebound during the overtime victory and was a steal shy of a complete stat line while shooting over 50 percent from the field. While playing time may concern Embiid managers, Philadelphia’s goal is to do what it can to ensure he’s healthy for the stretch run.

Embiid will be back for the second leg of a back-to-back set after sitting out on Monday. He hasn’t played many minutes to open the season, so his court time and production on Tuesday are far from certainties.

Monday’s game is the first of two in as many nights for the 76ers, who face the Wizards on Tuesday. Embiid, who did not exceed 20 minutes in either of Philadelphia’s first two games, not playing both ends of a back-to-back is unsurprising, given his injury history. With Dominick Barlow (elbow) also out, expect to see a lot of Andre Drummond and Adem Bona against the Magic.

Embiid didn’t look like himself in the season opener, but he was able to get things going in this one. He was still limited to 20 minutes, but he made better use of his time on the floor. Clearly, he’s still one of the best in the world, but the priority is keeping him healthy, which will limit his impact in the box score. They have a back-to-back coming up on Monday and Tuesday. Embiid will likely play against the Magic and sit against the Wizards, which should give Andre Drummond or Adem Bona the chance to start.

Embiid struggled mightily in the season opener. The 31-year-old center had just four points on 1-of-9 shooting from the field. Embiid is on a minutes restriction to begin the season, but it’s an entirely different headache for fantasy managers if he can’t produce in the time he is out on the floor.

Embiid, who played in Philadelphia’s preseason finale, will be available for Wednesday’s season opener. How much he’ll play remains to be seen, as he logged 19 minutes on Friday. However, simply having the former MVP on the floor is a win for the 76ers. Adem Bona and Andre Drummond will figure more prominently in the rotation if Embiid experiences any issues with his knee.

Embiid made his first appearance of the preseason and put together a productive line in just 19 minutes of action. He opened the game with one of his signature off-the-bounce midrange jumpers and then went on to shoot the ball well overall. Solid work on the glass and impressive playmaking put Embiid on the brink of a triple-double in what was a strong first impression after last seeing the floor 237 days ago. Embiid’s ceiling is incredibly high, which he’s proven throughout the years. Yet, his injury history has caused his ADP to fall in fantasy leagues when compared to recent seasons. If healthy, he’ll have a chance to finish as one of the top centers.

Embiid makes his first appearance of the preseason in Friday’s finale and will do so as a starter. Also of note is the inclusion of Bona, who appears to have a legitimate chance of starting alongside the former MVP when the regular season begins due to Paul George’s continued absence. Edgecombe will start in the backcourt alongside Maxey. During his pregame availability, head coach Nick Nurse said he was leaning toward starting the rookie when the 76ers begin the regular season on October 22 against Boston.

Embiid appears to be on track to play in the season opener against Boston next week, and his expected availability against Minnesota is another step in the right direction. How his body responds to the game will be a big factor, but if he’s relatively healthy to start the year, he quickly becomes one of the best values in fantasy basketball, even with the risks that come with drafting him.

Nurse mentions some “thresholds” that Embiid needs to clear before that decision is made, but the possibility of him playing is an encouraging update. It appears Embiid is still on track to play in the regular season opener against the Celtics on October 22, but fantasy managers will need to remain vigilant in tracking his status.

Embiid appears to be on track to play in the regular season opener, even if he hasn’t participated in the preseason yet. Paul George was able to do some individual work, and the plan is to integrate him into team work in the coming days, per Keith Pompey of the Philly Inquirer. There’s still not much clarity on either’s status, but things appear to be on track.

Embiid has no concrete timeline for returning to game action from offseason left knee surgery, but Saturday’s development qualifies as a step in the right direction. According to 76ers head coach Nick Nurse, the 7-footer did “quite a bit,” including participating in some live action. While Embiid’s injury history makes him challenging to trust with a first-round pick in fantasy drafts, he can be a game-changer for managers if he can play 60 games or more. His health will be one of the crucial subplots during the preseason, as Embiid’s ADP is around 50 in Yahoo!, ESPN and Fantrax leagues.

Due to a lingering left knee injury, Embiid only appeared in 19 games for the 76ers last season. The former NBA MVP underwent another surgery during the offseason in hopes of addressing the issue once and for all. However, while Embiid did say that he’s feeling good, he also noted that there is no specific timeline for a return to game action. “I want to play. I want to play every single game,” Embiid, who said his goal this season is to play consistently, said. “I’ve been pretty unlucky when it comes to that compared to most NBA players.” When healthy, Embiid is one of the most impactful players in fantasy basketball. However, the injury concerns make it challenging to justify using a first-round pick on the 7-footer.

The 76ers will get a head start on training camp due to their two preseason games against the Knicks in Abu Dhabi. However, whether Embiid will be ready to go after undergoing knee surgery in April is unknown. “I know he’s working very, very hard and I think things look good,” Nurse told talkSport’s Brian T. Smith. “Whether he’s ready for training camp or not, I think there’s maybe a lot more decisions than that to make before we get there. But our main thing is that he’s healthy to play and play to his nearest capabilities, because he’s awesome, no doubt about that.” Embiid has totaled 58 games in the two seasons since he won Most Valuable Player honors in 2023, and the 76ers are a vastly different team when their 7-footer is on the floor and playing at full strength.

While the NBA Draft was the focus on Wednesday, with Philadelphia selecting Baylor’s VJ Edgecombe third overall, Morey also had to answer questions regarding Embiid. After undergoing left knee surgery in April, just before the end of the regular season, there were questions regarding the 2023 MVP’s availability for the start of the 2025-26 season. According to Morey, Embiid is on track to be good to go around the time that training camp begins in late September. His injury history will give many fantasy managers pause at draft time, but a healthy Embiid can be one of the best players in the NBA and fantasy basketball.

Embiid was ruled out for the rest of the 2024-25 season on February 28, as a lingering left knee issue limited him to 19 games. He’ll undergo an arthroscopic procedure next week, and Charania also reports that Embiid will be evaluated in six weeks afterward. At that point, there should be more clarity regarding how intensive his rehab will be and how long the process may take. Due to his injury history, it will be challenging to justify selecting Embiid with a top-50 pick in standard league drafts in the fall.

After consulting top specialists, the 76ers determined that Embiid is medically unable to play and will miss the rest of the season, according to a team statement. The two sides will continue working with medical experts to determine a treatment plan going forward. The 30-year-old center played against the Celtics and Nets last week, but didn’t look like himself out there. With Embiid shutdown for the rest of the season, Guerschon Yabusele and Andre Drummond will handle the center minutes in Philadelphia. Drummond is still available in most leagues and worth adding.
