Edgecombe headed to the locker room twice and was seen riding a stationary bike on the 76ers’ sideline at points during the game. Nevertheless, the 20-year-old guard managed to play 35 minutes and was excellent in Game 2. Edgecombe bounced back from a 13-point performance in Game 1 to lead the 76ers with 30 points and six three-pointers in the Game 2 victory. The series shifts to Philadelphia for Game 3 on Friday.

Edgecombe’s official playoff debut did not go as smoothly as the rookie would have hoped. While good inside the three-point line, he missed all five of his three-point attempts on the day. Edgecombe played 34 minutes against the Celtics, and that was with the fourth quarter essentially being “garbage time.” Edgecombe and the 76ers will look to put up more resistance in Game 2 on Tuesday.

Making his postseason debut, Edgecombe was able to find multiple ways to make an impact, which contributed to them getting the win. Edgecombe enjoyed a fantastic rookie season, and it isn’t a surprise that it translated to postseason success. They’ll need it to continue during their first-round matchup with the Celtics to have a chance to pull off an upset. Game 1 is scheduled for Sunday.

Edgecombe continues to stuff the stat sheet in a way that few rookies typically do. He did a little bit of everything in this game to help the 76ers end a three-game losing streak. Edgecombe has taken on a large role during his first year in the league, and he’ll need to continue to make large contributions to help the 76ers make it out of the play-in tournament. Edgecombe isn’t in contention for Rookie of the Year, but he has made a huge impact for fantasy managers and will continue to do so for a long time.

Edgecombe did many things well against Houston. He was productive from the three-point line as a scorer, but also was the lead table setter for the Sixers’ offense. And on the defensive end, the rookie guard had active hands in coming up with a pair of steals, helping round out a balanced overall performance. Edgecombe has had a very good rookie season and should only become more productive as his career lengthens.

Limited to eight points in his last outing, Edgecombe more than doubled that number on Saturday. The 76ers’ rookie did not have the most efficient night, but he did finish with a complete stat line. With the 76ers still fighting for seeding in the East, fantasy managers whose leagues run through Week 24 should benefit from Edgecombe having four games on the schedule.

The 76ers’ need to insert their starters back into Wednesday’s game during the fourth quarter paid dividends for fantasy managers rostering Edgecombe. The rookie shot 3-of-5 from the field in the period, scoring seven points to go along with three assists. Edgecombe finished with his seventh double-double of the season and second of the points/assists variety.

With Tyrese Maxey, Paul George and Joel Embiid all available the last two games, Edgecombe has taken a back seat scoring-wise. Of course, this is an unsurprising development, considering the pedigree of the 76ers’ three veteran leaders. On Monday, Edgecombe shot the ball well and provided solid value in assists and steals. Continuing to do so will be critical for his fantasy value in the 76ers’ final games of Week 23.

Edgecombe had scored at least 35 points in two of his last three games, but it’s difficult to project that ceiling with Joel Embiid and Paul George back in the lineup. Both Embiid and George took more shots than the 20-year-old point guard on Wednesday. Edgecombe was efficient with 22 points on nine attempts and four three-pointers, but his volume took a hit.

Edgecombe has now had at least 35 points in two of his last three games. In between those outings, he was able to grab a career-high 13 rebounds in Saturday’s win over the Jazz. The 20-year-old point guard has provided third-round per game value over the last two weeks. The 76ers have two more games in Week 22 with a matchup against the Bulls on Wednesday coming next.

Edgecombe experienced an injury scare during Saturday’s game, as a Kyle Filipowski elbow to the face prompted a trip to the locker room during the second quarter. The good news for fantasy managers was that the rookie returned and ultimately logged 39 minutes. Edgecombe’s 13 rebounds were a season-high, and he finished with his sixth double-double. The 76ers play three games in Week 22, starting with the Thunder on Monday.

Edgecombe established multiple season-highs in Thursday’s victory, doing so in points, made field goals and assists. Regarding what the 76ers hope to get from their prized rookie, with Tyrese Maxey (finger) sidelined, he delivered. The last time a 76ers rookie scored at least 38 points in a game was January 2021, when Maxey did it. With the 76ers ending their Week 21 with a game against the Jazz on Saturday, Edgecombe could be in for another huge night.

Edgecombe sliding over in the starting point guard role in Tyrese Maxey’s stead has not resulted in a groundswell of assists. However, he did hit double figures in rebounds for the fourth time on Sunday, and fantasy managers also benefited from the blocked shots and percentages. Even with the 76ers playing three games in Week 21, Edgecombe’s role has raised his fantasy ceiling. Whether he reaches it will depend on his progression as a playmaker for others.

After a solid showing in Tuesday’s win over the Grizzlies, his first after a three-game absence with a back injury, Edgecombe struggled in Detroit. Not only did he miss all five of his three-point attempts, but the rookie shot 3-of-9 from two and did not record an assist. Saturday’s matchup with the Nets should be far more forgiving for Edgecombe, as Brooklyn is headed back to the draft lottery.

Following a three-game absence with a back injury, Edgecombe returned for this game. With Tyrese Maxey (pinky) set to miss at least three weeks, 76ers coach Nick Nurse said before the game that he would be the team’s primary ball handler for this game. He led the starters in assists and could be a decent source of dimes over the next few weeks, assuming Cam Payne doesn’t return to the starting unit. Regardless, Edgecombe will be a priority option moving forward.

Edgecombe is back after a three-game absence, and he’s going to spend a lot of time on the ball. As long as the rookie’s back doesn’t flare up, that’s great news for managers who have VJ on their rosters. Cameron Payne will head to the bench, taking on a role in which he offers limited fantasy value.

After a three-game absence, Edgecombe has been cleared to return on Tuesday. As a result, Cameron Payne or Quentin Grimes will head to the bench. Whether he starts or comes off the bench, Grimes offers a much higher fantasy ceiling than Payne. With 76ers head coach Nick Nurse saying that Edgecombe will get plenty of on-ball reps, Payne may be the odd man out of the starting lineup.

Edgecombe could return to action following a three-game absence, and his return would mean less minutes for Quentin Grimes and Jabari Walker. Fantasy managers should keep a close eye on Edgecombe’s status ahead of Tuesday’s tip-off.

While the rookie was on the court for Monday’s pregame session, 76ers head coach Nick Nurse did not divulge how active Edgecombe was. There’s hope that he’ll be able to return soon, but an exact timeline has not been provided. Quentin Grimes has moved into the starting lineup and should be rostered until Edgecombe and Tyrese Maxey (finger) return.

Edgecombe hasn’t played since leaving Tuesday’s game against the Spurs with a lumbar contusion. The 20-year-old shooting guard was initially listed as doubtful, so his continued absence isn’t a surprise. Edgecombe recorded a complete stat line against the Heat, and he’s picked up the production since the All-Star break. The rookie guard has scored at least 19 points in four of his last five games, providing third-round per-game value in eight-cat formats, according to Basketball Monster. With Dallas’ Cooper Flagg currently injured and not a lock to hit the 65-game minimum needed to be eligible for postseason awards, Edgecombe is someone who should be mentioned more often in Rookie of the Year conversations than he already is.
