As has been the case on a few occasions this season, Edgecombe got going in the fourth quarter after being quiet for the first three. He shot 3-of-4 from the field in the final frame, helping Philadelphia bounce back from another brutal third quarter. It wasn’t enough to get the 76ers into the winner’s circle, however. Edgecombe’s production has slipped recently, with the rookie ranked outside the top-100 over the past two weeks. However, that’s just as much due to Joel Embiid’s resurgence as it is the rookie’s decreased scoring.

Tuesday’s game was the first for Edgecombe in which he scored at least 20 points since January 3. With Joel Embiid and Paul George out, there were more shots available to the rookie, whose 21 attempts were the most in a game for him since December 30. Edgecombe is shooting 41.3 percent from the field over the past two weeks, which has limited him to eighth-round per-game value in eight-cat formats.

The rookie guard is good to go for Wednesday’s contest, as the Sixers look to string together back-to-back wins. From a fantasy standpoint, Edgecombe should remain productive, as he doesn’t appear to have any minutes restrictions. He’s averaging 16.1 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.4 assists through 34 games.

Edgecombe is dealing with a left adductor contusion. The 20-year-old shooting guard had 15 points in Monday’s win over the Raptors. It’s likely that Edgecombe will be available once again given his probable designation. He’s been one of the best players in fantasy basketball recently, providing first-round per game value over the last two weeks.

After getting up 19 shots in Sunday’s loss to the Raptors, Edgecombe only attempted seven in Monday’s rematch. A significant reason for the decrease was the returns of Joel Embiid and Paul George, who were both unavailable on Sunday. That said, Edgecombe made the most of his opportunities, shooting 5-of-8 from beyond the arc. Add in the eight assists, and this was a solid start to Week 13 for the rookie guard.

Edgecombe connected for a game-tying three-pointer with 16 seconds left in overtime, his first trey of the night after missing his first six attempts. The 20-year-old prodigy has run hot-and-cold in his rookie campaign, averaging a robust 16.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.6 steals and 0.5 blocks through 33 games. He’s emerged as a stellar complementary scorer to Tyrese Maxey and has flashed big-time all-around fantasy potential.

Edgecombe has been a fantasy beast recently. His offense wasn’t quite as good in this game, but his recent defensive impact has been unreal. Over his last five games, Edgecombe is averaging 20.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5.2 assists, 3.4 steals, 1.2 blocks and 3.6 three-pointers per game. The only player that has been better in nine-category leagues during that stretch has been his teammate Tyrese Maxey. The shooting was subpar in this game, but he’ll look to get back on track in Orlando on Friday.

Edgecombe had a rough first half shooting the ball, and he entered the break scoreless. However, he came alive after that and nearly recorded a triple-double. The poor first half resulted in a subpar field goal percentage for him, but the counting stats were incredibly strong from him. Edgecombe has found fantasy success while playing alongside ball-dominant stars, which should allow him to be productive for the rest of the season.

The Knicks have failed to slow down Philadelphia’s backcourt of Edgecombe and Tyrese Maxey in their two meetings, with the tandem combining for 62 points on Saturday. The rookie guard’s athleticism was an issue on both ends, with his ability to get whatever shot he wanted and slow down the Knicks defensively. The good news for Edgecombe managers is that Philadelphia plays four games in Week 12, starting with Denver on Monday.

Over the past two weeks, the rookie guard has provided top-50 per-game value in eight-cat formats. Edgecombe continues to exceed expectations, much to the delight of those who selected him in drafts. The 76ers end Week 11 with a game against the Knicks on Saturday.

Edgecombe came up big late in this game and contributed 13 points in the fourth quarter. He didn’t score in the overtime period until less than two seconds left by hitting a three-pointer to give the 76ers the win. It ended up being a well-rounded, strong performance for Edgecombe, though he did most of his work as a scorer late. Following four consecutive 20-point games, Edgecombe had scored exactly 10 points in each of his previous two games, so it was good to see him get back on track in this one.

While Tyrese Maxey was the 76ers’ leading scorer on Friday, a strong case can be made for Edgecombe being the player of the game. The rookie guard made big plays on offense, and his work defensively on Jalen Brunson was crucial. Given his Yahoo! ADP (130), fantasy managers certainly expected Edgecombe to be a factor as a rookie. However, he’s exceeded those expectations, providing top-100 value in eight- and nine-cat formats.

With Edgecombe playing 24 minutes in each of his three prior appearances, 76ers head coach Nick Nurse said before Sunday’s game that the rookie’s minutes limit would increase “soon.” Sunday must have qualified as “soon,” since Edgecombe played 38 minutes against the Lakers. While the stat line wasn’t great, this is a spot where the increased playing time should be the focus. And with the 76ers off until Friday, Edgecombe has some time to work on his conditioning.

His putback of a Tyrese Maxey fadeaway with nine-tenths of a second remaining gave Philadelphia the 99-98 victory, with the 76ers avoiding losing a game they led by at least 20 points after one quarter for the first time in franchise history. Despite averaging just 8.7 points per game, Edgecombe has been close to a top-50 player in eight-cat formats over the past two weeks. His production in the rebound, assist and steal categories has been a factor, as it was against the Warriors.

Quentin Grimes has been his replacement in the starting lineup, and he should already be rostered in 14-team leagues. If Grimes is sitting on your waiver wire, there isn’t much to lose from picking up up while Edgecombe is out.
