Edey underwent surgery on his left ankle in June, which makes Thursday’s announcement especially concerning. The Grizzlies expect the 7-foot-4 center to make a full recovery, and they’ll take an “offloading and rehabilitation” approach before re-evaluating him in four weeks. Jock Landale began the season as the starting center and should return to that role, making him a worthwhile addition in deeper leagues. There should also be more minutes available to Santi Aldama, but Landale should be the primary target of fantasy managers.

Edey snapped out of his recent cold spell by recording his fifth double-double of the season, pulling down 10 boards in just 21 minutes before fouling out with just over six minutes left in a lopsided affair against the struggling Trail Blazers. The 23-year-old center is averaging 13.6 points, 11.1 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 0.6 steals and 1.9 blocks through 11 games this season. He’s performing at a near-elite level for fantasy purposes when he’s on the floor.

Edey’s night was unspectacular from a fantasy basketball perspective. He didn’t dominate in any singular category, but was solid enough across the board to finish with mediocre production. He played 29 minutes in the game, battled on both ends, and ultimately finished as the Grizzlies’ leader in blocks in the win. They’ll play Sunday against the Trail Blazers, where fantasy managers will hope for more production out of Edey.

Edey has been on quite the tear in recent weeks. Over the last five games that Edey has completed, he is averaging 17.8 points, 16.2 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game. It took Edey a few games to get adjusted after missing the start of the year, but he’s been one of the most dominant players in fantasy basketball recently. Some of the matchups have been more favorable, but he has been able to take advantage. At this point, he’s looking like one of the steals of the year.

Not having Domantas Sabonis available put the Kings in a tough spot when defending Edey. The second-year center was able to go wherever he wanted offensively, shooting 80 percent from the field with most of his makes coming in the restricted area. Add in the rebounds and blocked shots, and this was a great end to Week 6 for managers who have Edey rostered. Since making his season debut, the 7-foot-4 center has provided third-round value in nine-cat formats. The Grizzlies play three games in Week 7, starting with the Spurs on Tuesday.

While he didn’t do much scoring on Friday, Edey was dominant on the glass. The 21 rebounds were a season-high for the second-year center, who has been a top-50 player in eight- and nine-cat formats over the past two weeks. He’s still rostered in 46 percent of Yahoo! leagues, which is too low, given Edey’s production and importance to the Grizzlies. Now would be a good time to hop onto the bandwagon, especially with the Grizzlies facing Sacramento on Sunday.

Edey matched his season-high in rebounds and notched his first 20-point game on Wednesday. The Pelicans struggled to find an answer for him offensively, as Edey was able to hover around the paint for most of the night. He’s only played in six games thus far, but the fantasy returns are promising. We’ll see what happens once Ja Morant returns from injury, but Edey should be a valuable center throughout the season.

Edey is back in the lineup after a head injury on Monday against the Nuggets forced him to exit after only six minutes. He’ll likely return to the starting lineup for the sixth time in as many games. The sophomore center got a late start to the season due to an ankle injury delaying his debut until mid-November. He’s currently averaging 10.2 points and 7.6 rebounds.

Edey suffered a head injury during the first quarter, departing after six minutes of action. His presence at practice on Tuesday is a positive development, but it does not guarantee the 7-foot-4 center’s availability for Wednesday’s game against the Pelicans. If Edey can’t play, Jock Landale will be the next man up at center.

Edey took a shot to the head during the first quarter of Monday’s game, exiting after playing just six minutes. With the 7-foot-4 center unlikely to return, the Grizzlies will rely on Jock Landale and Santi Aldama to absorb the minutes that would have gone to Edey. Aldama offers a higher fantasy ceiling, but Landale would be the starter if Edey misses time beyond Monday.

Despite only having three official field-goal attempts, Edey notched his first double-double in four appearances this season. Over the past week, the 7-foot-4 center has provided third-round value in eight- and nine-cat formats, well above his Yahoo! ADP of 118. Expecting Edey to maintain this value for the entire season may not be realistic, as the Grizzlies have been without Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr. However, a top-100 season feels like the minimum expectation for a post player of his skill level.

After missing the first 13 games of the season, Edey was available to make his season debut. He immediately slid into the starting lineup and logged 24 minutes. He was likely limited in his first game back, but Jock Landale was still able to play 19 minutes off the bench. Edey was really productive during his time on the floor despite an early exit from Ja Morant (calf). This was a great start to the season for Edey, who is currently rostered in just 36 percent of Yahoo! leagues.

Edey will be available to play for the first time this season, and it has already been announced that he will start. He may have his minutes managed in his first game back, but he’ll be part of the opening group, which likely means Jock Landale will be pushed to a reserve role.

Edey has been sidelined all season, but there is a chance he makes his debut against Cleveland. Jock Landale has been starting at center, but Edey’s return will eventually return Landale to a reserve role, even if it doesn’t happen in his first game back.

Edey is still yet to appear in game this season, but his doubtful listing is a step in the right direction in his recovery. Grizzlies coach Tuomas lisalo told reporters he’s seen Edey practice recently and that he’s still not 100 percent. The 23-year-old center is getting closer to a return, but don’t expect him to be available Wednesday against the Celtics.

After reinjuring his left ankle in June, Edey went under the knife in early June. With Friday’s update, the Grizzlies included a return-to-play timeline of six to nine weeks, so the 7-foot-4 center won’t be available when the regular season begins. While this knocks Edey down draft boards, his absence (along with Jaren Jackson Jr.'s) makes Santi Aldama a more enticing fantasy asset. GG Jackson may also receive more opportunities to play, but Aldama is the player to target in drafts.

Edey reinjured the left ankle that he sprained during the regular season, resulting in the center undergoing surgery to stabilize the area. The Grizzlies announced on Tuesday that the procedure was successful, and he will be re-evaluated in four months. With Edey not expected to be ready for the start of the 2025-26 season, Memphis can either slide Brandon Clarke into the starting lineup or move Jaren Jackson Jr. to the five as part of a smaller quintet. Edey’s surgery may also impact Memphis’s approach to Santi Aldama, who will be a restricted free agent next month.

Charania’s report indicates that Edey re-sprained the same ankle that forced him to miss some time last season. It came during an offseason workout, and he is expected to miss time to start next season. Edey secured the starting center spot for Memphis late last season after playing an inconsistent role for most of his rookie year. Head coach Tuomas Iisalo could opt to use Brandon Clarke as the starting center if he’s healthy, or he could use a smaller starting lineup with Jaren Jackson Jr. to start next season. The Grizzlies’ PR team announced that a preliminary timeline will be provided after he has the surgery, but as of now, the expectation is that he won’t be available for opening night.

After recording four blocked shots on four occasions during the regular season, Edey nearly doubled that number on Saturday. While he did provide solid value in the rebounding category as well, the rookie center only attempted four shots on the day before fouling out. Edey’s production during the regular season did not match his Yahoo! ADP (98), but he offered solid late-round value in eight- and nine-cat formats. His value for the 2025-26 season will be heavily influenced by the Grizzlies’ head coaching hire. Edey’s minutes and opportunities increased after Tuomas Iisola was named interim head coach, but he isn’t a lock to have the tag removed.

Edey has now played in two play-in games in his career and has two play-in double-doubles. He wasn’t able to match his 17 rebounds from Tuesday’s game, but Edey still made a big impact in this game to help Memphis return to the playoffs after a one-year absence. Edey will have his hands full for his playoff debut on Sunday as he matches up with Chet Holmgren and Isaiah Hartenstein while also trying to make life difficult for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander when he drives to the basket.

While he struggled with his shot on Tuesday, the 7-foot-4 Edey was a force on the boards. Having reached double digits in rebounds in five of his last six appearances of the regular season, the rookie center grabbed 17 more on Tuesday. Seven rebounds were offensive, giving the Grizzlies extra possessions that helped erase a 20-point deficit. Edey was unable to do enough to help Memphis get the win and earn a playoff spot. Still, they’ll have another opportunity to do so on Friday against the winner of Wednesday’s game between Dallas and Sacramento.

Edey appears unlikely to play in Sunday’s regular-season finale, as the Grizzlies are locked into the play-in tournament. Jay Huff will likely move into the rotation if the rookie is officially ruled out. As Jaren Jackson Jr. is also doubtful, Huff would be worth rostering in active leagues.

Edey has now had at least 16 rebounds in four of his last six games and at least 13 rebounds in five of his last six games. The 22-year-old center is certainly a unique player with his propensity for rebounds. He’s also a force on the defensive end, which makes his low scoring games easier to digest. While he’s still young, this may be his fantasy ceiling, which is still more than valuable enough to make him a target going into drafts next season.

Edey surpassed 20 rebounds in a game for the first time this season, making up for a subpar scoring night. In addition to the 21 rebounds, the rookie recorded six assists, which was also a season-high. Over the past two weeks, Edey has provided sixth-round value in nine-cat formats and seventh-round value in eight-cat. The Grizzlies end the regular season with a four-game Week 23, starting with the Hornets on Tuesday.

Edey has now collected at least 11 rebounds in three of his last four games. Despite inconsistent playing time, the 22-year-old rookie center from Purdue is a rebounding machine when he’s out there. Edey has provided sixth-round fantasy value over the past two weeks as he’s also an excellent shot blocker.

Edey reached double digits in rebounds for the 15th time this season and first since March 9. That was also the last time the rookie recorded a double-double, moving his tally to 10 on the season. While Edey has offered sixth-round value in nine-cat formats over the past two weeks, five of six games were played without Ja Morant. Morant returned to the lineup on Saturday, and the 7-foot-4 rookie produced an excellent stat line. That’s encouraging for those who have Edey rostered, especially with the Grizzlies playing four games during Week 22.

With both Edey and Clarke sidelined on Monday, Jay Huff started at center, with Marvin Bagley filling out the backup minutes. Huff was more productive in the box score, though neither was a great option. Still, they’ll get another opportunity if Edey and Clarke miss another game.

The Grizzlies are certainly in a bind tonight against the Suns as their four top big men (Edey, Clarke, Santi Aldama, and Jaren Jackson Jr.) have all been ruled out. Marvin Bagley Jr. and Jay Huff are the next available options and would be worth streaming consideration given that someone will need to rebound the ball against Phoenix Monday.

Edey played just 22 minutes against the Mavericks on Friday, but he was a rebounding machine. The 22-year-old rookie center from Purdue grabbed 10 offensive rebounds alone in this one. Edey has shown he’s capable of providing fantasy value when on the floor, but his minutes aren’t consistently high enough to provide consistent points and rebounds. If they were, he’d have a lot more double-doubles this year.

Santi Aldama (calf) wasn’t available for Monday’s game, so Edey returned to the starting lineup after coming off the bench on Saturday. The rookie was productive, scoring 15 points on 75 percent shooting and grabbing five rebounds. Since the break, Edey has been an 11th-round player in eight-cat formats. Edey should be rostered in standard leagues regardless of where he is in the Grizzlies’ rotation. However, his value does take a hit when asked to come off the bench.
