Goodwin’s absence should mean plenty of playing time for Collin Gillespie, with Jamaree Bouyea logging additional minutes off the bench.

Good suffered a left calf strain in Saturday’s win over the Magic, and he’ll join Dillon Brooks on the sideline for an extended period of time. Collin Gillespie could be in line for big minutes moving forward, and he needs to be rostered in standard fantasy leagues.

Goodwin, who exited Saturday’s win over the Magic during the fourth quarter, has been diagnosed with a strained left calf. With Devin Booker and Dillon Brooks also out, the Suns will be down at least three rotation guards. Grayson Allen and Jalen Green are also considered questionable for Sunday’s game. If Collin Gillespie is sitting on the waiver wire, pick him up.

Goodwin injured his left calf during the fourth quarter of Saturday’s double-overtime win over the Magic. After taking an awkward step and grabbing his left calf during an offensive possession, Goodwin gave a foul and headed to the locker room immediately. With Devin Booker (hip) out for at least one week and Dillon Brooks (hand) going down during the first quarter, the Suns could be extremely light on perimeter options for Sunday’s game against the Trail Blazers.

Rostered in four percent of Yahoo! leagues, nights like Tuesday serve as a reminder of Goodwin’s value, especially while the Suns are without Devin Booker and Jalen Green. His double-double was accompanied by five steals, one shy of his career-high. Over the past two weeks, Goodwin has been close to a top-100 player in terms of per-game value. If Booker and Green remain out for Thursday’s game against the Warriors, deep-league managers should strongly consider streaming Goodwin if he’s sitting on the waiver wire.

Goodwin moved back to the bench earlier this week when Collin Gillespie returned from a hand injury. The 27-year-old has an interesting skillset which includes effective rebounding and excellent defense, though his scoring is inconsistent. With Devin Booker sidelined Friday, Goodwin came off the bench and hit five three-pointers against the Cavaliers. He’s returned 15th-round per game value over the last two weeks, but isn’t necessarily worth rostering in most fantasy leagues.

Goodwin got the starting nod for the third time this season, but he wasn’t able to take advantage of the increased opportunity. He has been incredibly effective as a rebounder when he’s gotten the chance this year, which held up in this game. He has some streaming appeal if Collin Gillespie (hand) remains out, but most of his impact will come on the glass and defensively. He only added one steal in this game, but he is averaging 1.4 swipes per game this year.

With Collin Gillespie (hand) joining Devin Booker (ankle) and Jalen Green (hamstring) as out for this game, Goodwin will start for the third time this season. Goodwin has had some productive stretches this year, and with Phoenix missing multiple key backcourt pieces, he should be able to provide strong value as a starter.

While Goodwin has been ranked well outside the top-100 in eight- and nine-cat formats, he had another good night off the bench. He only needed 20 minutes to record Tuesday’s stat line, a performance that should go a long way toward guaranteeing him a spot in the rotation with Jalen Green (hamstring) making his return. Goodwin isn’t worth rostering in most leagues, but that could change if the Suns were to lose a wing to injury.

While he did not record a blocked shot, Goodwin’s final stat line was a reminder of what he can provide on a nightly basis. He made the most of his scoring opportunities and was solid as a facilitator and defender. Over the past two weeks, Goodwin has offered 12th-round per-game value in eight-cat formats. He isn’t a must-roster player, but Goodwin can have value in deep leagues.

The Suns don’t look to Goodwin for much scoring, but his defensive abilities make him a player who has to be in the rotation. The 12 rebounds were three shy of his season-high, and Goodwin matched his high in steals. He still isn’t a player who should be rostered in most leagues, but Goodwin is averaging 24.0 minutes per game over the past month.

Goodwin put together one of the best shooting performances of his career in this one, setting new career-high marks for points (26) and three-pointers (eight) as he knocked down a surreal 8-of-13 from beyond the arc. It was the third 20-point performance of his career. His combination of scoring upside and strong rebounding give him some appeal in deeper fantasy leagues but he’ll need to stay hot from distance to be a reliable option.

Goodwin was one of three Suns reserves to hit double figures on Saturday. The 16 points were a season high and four more than his total in Phoenix’s prior two games. While this was undoubtedly an encouraging performance for Goodwin, he has not reached the point where he should be rostered in fantasy leagues.

Goodwin has been upgraded from questionable to available, and he’ll provide additional depth on the wings with Ryan Dunn (wrist) still out. However, with Grayson Allen (quad) available, Goodwin has a lower fantasy ceiling, even if Allen’s minutes are restricted.

The Suns have four key players listed as questionable against the Nuggets on Saturday. That list includes Goodwin, who is somewhat of a stranger to the injury report compares to his teammates. With Goodwin, Grayson Allen and Ryan Dunn all questionable, Collin Gillespie is the obvious beneficiary and preferred streamer given the injury situation.

With Jalen Green, Grayson Allen and Ryan Dunn all out due to injury, Goodwin was tabbed to make his first start of the season on Sunday. He recorded his first double-double of the season, doing everything but block a shot. Collin Gillespie, whose opportunities have also increased due to the injuries, added 15 points, three rebounds, six assists, one steal and three three-pointers in 29 minutes off the bench. As long as the Suns are shorthanded on the perimeter, Gillespie and Goodwin will have value in deep leagues.

Already without Jalen Green and Grayson Allen, the Suns won’t have Ryan Dunn for Sunday’s game. As a result, Goodwin will move into the starting lineup for the first time this season. While the change raises Goodwin’s fantasy ceiling, Collin Gillespie remains the superior streaming option. The other four starters are unchanged.

Goodwin appeared in 29 games including five starts for the Lakers last year. The 26-year-old point guard was waived days ago as the Lakers cleared space for Marcus Smart. Now he’s on his way back to the Suns, where he spent part of the 2023-24 season. Goodwin can provide some defense for the Suns as he’s averaged 1.2 steals per game over his last 46 games.

Signed to a two-way contract by the Lakers after the February trade deadline, Goodwin played well enough to be converted to a standard deal in late March. While his contract for the 2025-26 season is worth $2.3 million, it is only lightly guaranteed. Goodwin’s deal becomes fully guaranteed on January 10, 2026, if he’s still on the roster. He did have his moments as a streamer last season, but Goodwin is not a player likely to be drafted in most fantasy leagues.

Goodwin is dealing with plantar fasciitis in his right foot, but the probable tag suggests he will play on Sunday. Luka Doncic, Austin Reaves and LeBron James are all out, so Goodwin should play plenty if available. He would be worth slotting into lineups in active leagues.

While this transaction does not impact fantasy basketball, as Goodwin was already in the Lakers’ rotation, it does affect the NBA Playoffs. Two-way contract players are not eligible for the postseason, so addressing Goodwin’s status means he will be available. However, with 15 players already under standard contracts, the Lakers must waive someone to free up a spot for Goodwin.

Goodwin has started the Lakers’ last four games, filling the void left by LeBron James (groin). While he has reached double figures on three occasions, he has been most valuable in the defensive categories. Averaging 2.0 steals and 1.0 blocks per game, Goodwin has offered fifth-round value in nine-cat formats in his four starts. Goodwin is only rostered in one percent of Yahoo! leagues and is worthy of consideration among managers seeking defensive production.

Rostered in one percent of Yahoo! leagues, Goodwin has been one of the most productive Lakers fantasy-wise since LeBron James injured his groin on March 8. Despite inconsistent scoring, the fourth-year guard has been a top-100 player in nine-cat formats over the last five games. A double-digit scorer in three of those five games, Goodwin scored two points in the other two. While the scoring output has been unpredictable, Goodwin has been effective enough as a defender to be worth a look in extremely deep leagues while LeBron sits.

Goodwin was one of the replacements in the Lakers’ starting lineup Friday night. While the scoring wasn’t there, he provided solid value in his 34 minutes. Like Jarred Vanderbilt (9/7/7/3 with one three-pointer in 24 minutes), Goodwin is a deep-league dart throw for fantasy managers left to go deep into the waiver wire for additional depth. With Luka Doncic potentially returning on Sunday, there’s no need to add Goodwin or Vanderbilt for the Lakers’ final Week 19 game against the Suns.

Goodwin is back after missing three games with a sprained ankle. While Austin Reaves’ availability limits his upside, Goodwin may pick up minutes on the back end of the Lakers’ rotation. However, this is not enough to impact fantasy basketball.

Tuesday’s game will be the second straight Goodwin has missed with a sprained right ankle. Shake Milton played eight minutes off the bench in Sunday’s win over the Clippers, but the Lakers were also without Austin Reaves. Milton will likely fall out of the rotation if Reaves can return from his calf injury.

Having been signed to a two-way deal on February 7, Goodwin played 21 minutes off the bench Friday night. Shooting 3-of-7 from the field, he finished with six points, five rebounds, two assists and three steals. While the production hasn’t exactly translated to fantasy basketball, Goodwin has done enough to earn Redick’s trust. He’s only appeared in seven games, so the 50-game limit won’t be an issue for the regular season. However, the Lakers must convert him to a standard deal at some point to ensure Goodwin is eligible for the postseason.
