Giddey sprained his right ankle during the second half of Saturday’s loss to the Cavaliers while attempting to guard De’Andre Hunter on the perimeter. His absence would leave a massive hole in the Bulls’ starting lineup, as Coby White is also out. Kevin Huerter could be moved into the starting lineup, and this would also raise Tre Jones’ fantasy ceiling.

While many expected that Giddey merely scratched the surface of what he’s capable of in Chicago last season, his start to the 2025-26 campaign has exceeded expectations. He’s close to averaging a triple-double and has recorded at least 10 assists in five of Chicago’s eight games. Giddey will look to get Chicago back into the win column when they visit the Cavaliers on Saturday.

Giddey was sensational in the Bulls’ comeback victory, recording his second triple-double of the season. His 12th assist of the night was the point guard’s most important, as he found Nikola Vučević in the right corner for a three-pointer with 3.4 seconds remaining that won the game. Giddey’s hot start is a critical reason why the Bulls are now 6-1, and he’s shown no signs of slowing down. With Coby White (calf) expected to miss a few more weeks, Giddey managers have an interesting dilemma: sell high, or continue to ride the wave?

Giddey is up to 19 triple-doubles in his career, and he seems to like Madison Square Garden. “The World’s Most Famous Arena” has been the site of four of Giddey’s 19 triple-doubles. More critical to fantasy managers is that he’s taken advantage of Coby White being out due to injury, providing third-round value in eight-cat formats. Unfortunately for Giddey managers, the Bulls only play three games during Week 3, starting with the 76ers on Tuesday.

With Philadelphia losing to the Celtics on Friday, the Bulls are the lone remaining undefeated team in the Eastern Conference. Giddey had a lot to do with Chicago’s move to 5-0. After four solid performances, he was spectacular against the Knicks, who could not find an answer for the guard defensively. Giddey shot 4-of-8 from three and 57.1 percent from the field overall, and he finished one assist shy of a triple-double without committing a turnover. He’s providing top-75 value in nine-cat formats, below his Yahoo! ADP of 28. More nights like Friday will help close that gap.

Giddey has now scored at least 18 points in all four games this season, had at least eight rebounds in three games this season and had at least 11 assists in two games this season. The 23-year-old point guard has had a double-double three times in four games this year including Wednesday against the Kings. Giddey had five turnovers, but otherwise his production has been outstanding.

Giddey entered this game listed as questionable, but he was able to play through the finger injury on his right hand and have a big night. He recorded his first points-rebounds double-double of the season and is now averaging 19.3 points, 8.7 rebounds and 6.3 assists per game. His production in those three categories late last season led to him being drafted in the third-round in Yahoo! leagues. Next up on the schedule is a home matchup with the Kings on Wednesday.

Giddey won’t end up missing any time due to the finger injury that caused his name to show up on the injury report. Instead, he’ll take the floor and look to help the Bulls stay undefeated and build off a strong individual start to the season that most recently included a 21/8/3 stat line against the Magic.

Giddey has a sprained right ring finger, hence his inclusion on the Bulls’ injury report. As a right-handed shooter, the injury has the potential to be problematic. If Giddey cannot play on Monday, Ayo Dosunmu and Kevin Huerter will have added importance. Dosunmu offers a higher streaming ceiling, especially if he’s allowed to start.

Giddey was almost a triple-double threat with his 19/5/11 line in the win against the Pistons on Wednesday. The 23-year-old guard had a pretty good game in his first regular season action since signing an extension last month. Giddey had six turnovers, but his production in the other categories is hard to quibble with.

After a slow first preseason game, Giddey got back on track and put together a nice four-game stretch to give himself some momentum heading into the regular season. In Thursday’s finale, he reached double figures as a scorer and dished out a preseason-high in assists in the process. Giddey, in his second year as the Bulls’ starting point guard, should be able to pick up where he left off in his first season. He remains a triple-double threat and could be a nice early-round target in fantasy drafts.

Giddey’s first preseason outing was a dud, but since then, he has reminded us why he’s going in the third round in Yahoo! drafts. This game in particular is what fantasy managers are hoping to get from him often this season. If this level of well-rounded production is something Giddey is capable of providing consistently, he’ll be worth the early selection.

Giddey stuffed the stat sheet with points, rebounds and assists in this one, tacking on a useful block and three-pointer in the process. The nightly triple-double threat should be a valuable option for fantasy managers in 2025-26, and his ADP has taken him as high as the third round in some drafts given his massive upside.

Giddey was much more aggressive in Thursday’s contest against the Cavaliers than in Tuesday’s. He got up more shots than any other Bulls starter, and although he didn’t shoot efficiently, he finished as one of the team’s top scorers on the evening in 22 minutes of game action. The fifth-year guard also made his usual impact as a scorer and rebounder, and appears to be ready for another strong fantasy basketball season.

One of the last big-name free agents left on the market, Giddey will remain with the team that traded for him a year ago and become one of its franchise cornerstones. In his first season with the Bulls, Giddey posted 14.6 points to go with career highs in rebounds (8.1), assists (7.2), steals (1.2) and three-pointers (1.5) across 70 appearances.

Giddey is a restricted free agent, so the Bulls hold the leverage in their negotiations. While the team has reportedly increased its offer to Giddey from four years, $80 million to four years, $88 million, that still does not align with Giddey’s hopes of a deal that would pay him an average annual salary of $30 million. According to Marks, the AAV of $22 million is on the low end for starting point guards. One option available to Giddey is to sign a one-year qualifying offer worth $11 million. Doing so would make him an unrestricted free agent next summer. Qualifying offers expire on October 1. From a fantasy standpoint, Giddey was close to a top-50 player last season and meshed well with fellow guard Coby White.

Giddey is one of the notable restricted free agents who has been unable to negotiate a deal this offseason. While the point guard and the Bulls are mutually interested in continuing their partnership after a solid 2024-25 season, the money remains a sticking point. According to Cowley, Giddey’s camp went into last season hoping for a deal on par with the one Jalen Suggs received from the Magic, playing an average annual salary of $30 million. The Bulls took a more cautious approach, possibly impacted by Patrick Williams’ disappointing play after receiving a surprising extension worth $90 million. Giddey can sign his qualifying offer worth $11 million, which would allow him to go into unrestricted free agency next summer, but that may be viewed as a “last resort.” Staying in Chicago would be best for Giddey’s fantasy value after finishing last season as a top-60 player in nine-cat formats.

Chicago’s decision to tender a qualifying offer to Giddey means he will be a restricted free agent on June 30. Thanks to this move, the Bulls can match any offer sheet the guard may sign with another team. Chicago can also offer Giddey more money and years than any other team interested in signing him. In his first season with the team, Giddey established good on-court chemistry with Coby White and recorded career-best averages in rebounds, assists, steals and three-pointers. Staying in Chicago would give Giddey a higher fantasy ceiling, potentially providing top-50 value.

Giddey said his plan is simply to rest it. Prior to Wednesday’s play-in loss, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported that Giddey had a torn muscle in his right hand. He played through it and delivered 25 points and 10 rebounds in Chicago’s final game of the season. The injury shouldn’t be a factor in Giddey’s quest for a new contract this summer as he enters restricted free agency. There is a good chance that he remains with the Bulls. That would be great news for his fantasy value as he is coming off the best season of his career.

Giddey’s first season in Chicago ended disappointingly, despite him recording a double-double. Unsurprisingly, being defended by Bam Adebayo to begin Wednesday’s game was problematic for the Bulls point guard, who was also dealing with a hand injury. ESPN’s Shams Charania reported before the game that Giddey has a torn muscle in his right (shooting) hand, something he’s dealt with for the past month. Losing on Wednesday means he can get that taken care of, and restricted free agency will be interesting. Giddey’s likely raised his value after this season; how much are the Bulls willing to play, especially after handing Lonzo Ball an extension a few months ago? Returning to Chicago would make Giddey a far more valuable player in fantasy basketball than he was with the Thunder.

Giddey plans on returning from a two-game layoff against the Heat for Wednesday’s play-in game. Julian Phillips started Chicago’s final two regular season games, but with Giddey likely back, he won’t play a significant role against Miami. This is a win-or-go-home game for both teams, so expect Giddey to play extra minutes in order to keep the Bulls’ season alive.

Coming off recording a triple-double against Miami on Wednesday, Giddey will miss Friday’s matchup with Washington. Patrick Williams, Talen Horton-Tucker and Jevon Carter are all candidates to replace him in the starting unit, depending on how big or small head coach Billy Donovan wants to go with his opening lineup.

With Coby White and Kevin Huerter already out, Chicago could be without four starters for Tuesday’s game. Vucevic’s potential absence would impact Zach Collins and Jalen Smith, as both would see their minutes increase. Giddey’s not playing would likely lead to more playing time for Talen Horton-Tucker, who would be worth streaming in deep leagues.

From a fantasy standpoint, few backcourts have been as hot as Chicago’s tandem of Giddey and Coby White since the All-Star break. Finishing Sunday’s win two assists shy of a triple-double, Giddey has been a top-10 player in eight- and nine-cat formats since Chicago’s first post-break game on February 20. For those whose fantasy leagues run through Week 23, the Bulls play four games, starting with the Cavaliers on Tuesday.

In recording his sixth triple-double of the season, Giddey established a new career-high with 19 rebounds. The move to Chicago has been excellent for his NBA career, and fantasy managers have reaped the rewards. Giddey has been a top-50 player in eight-cat formats, exceeding many expectations, even though his Yahoo! ADP (69) suggested that fantasy managers expected him to be better in 2024-25. And Josh could be in for a big finish to Week 22, as the Bulls visit the Hornets on Sunday.

Giddey will once again play through a sore right hip, just as he did against the Thunder on Monday. On the second night of a back-to-back, he’ll look to stuff the stat sheet again after nearly recording a triple-double against OKC.
