Gueye moved into the starting lineup in place of Jalen Johnson (quad), and he took advantage of the opportunity. This was his second start of the year, and he has made a big impact both times. Gueye was one of seven players to score in double figures for the Hawks in what was a dominant win for a shorthanded squad. Unfortunately, there are too many mouths to feed in Atlanta for Gueye to play this much consistently, but he’s worth streaming when he gets the chance to start, and he’s a valuable piece in dynasty leagues.

With Jalen Johnson (ankle) sidelined for the second leg of the Hawks’ back-to-back, Gueye got his first start of the season. He joined Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Onyeka Okongwu as replacement starters with Zaccharie Risacher (ankle) and Kristaps Porzingis (illness) also sidelined. Gueye performed well against a tough defense for a short-handed team. He has some streaming appeal until Johnson returns, though there’s no indication this will be a lengthy absence. Gueye is worth stashing in dynasty leagues.

NAW and Okongwu will each get a second straight start with Zaccharie Risacher (ankle) and Kristaps Porzingis (illness) out. Gueye will join the starting group with Jalen Johnson (ankle) also sidelined for this one. This will be a good opportunity for other players to step up with three starters out.

Jalen Johnson dealt with foul trouble in this game, which forced coach Quin Snyder to call on Gueye more than he did in the season opener. Gueye played a large role in place of Johnson during the second half of last season, but he wasn’t expected to be a large part of the rotation this year. Foul trouble and injuries opened the door for him, and he delivered. He isn’t worth picking up in standard leagues, but Gueye is certainly worth keeping around in dynasty formats.

Gueye’s role has been inconsistent for Atlanta this season, even as a starter for the past two months. However, this was one of the best performances of his career. He provided value across the board and demolished his previous career-high of 12 rebounds, which he reached twice this season. Gueye, who is only 22 years old, should continue to start in the postseason for Atlanta, though Quin Snyder won’t hesitate to turn to his veterans off the bench earlier on. With Jalen Johnson healthy next season, there isn’t a clear path for Gueye to retain standard league value.

Gueye is back in the starting lineup after coming off the bench on Thursday against the Heat, with Vit Krejci returning to the bench. The change was likely for matchup reasons, as the Hawks must match up with Giannis Antetokounmpo and Brook Lopez.

After not playing at all on Monday, Gueye returned to the starting lineup on Tuesday. When he has started, Gueye has typically played around 15 minutes, but he played a season-high 25 minutes against Milwaukee. The result was one of his best performances of the season, which included him hitting a career-high four triples. Gueye remains a risky option in standard leagues because of his inconsistent role, but dynasty managers have to be excited about this type of performance.

After starting seven straight games for Atlanta, Gueye didn’t see the floor at all on Monday. However, he’ll return to the starting lineup and replace Dominick Barlow, who logged 13 minutes as a starter against Memphis. Regardless of who has started, neither has played a large role, with Caris LeVert, Georges Niang and Terance Mann taking on more minutes off the bench.
