Hunter is good to go after initially being probable for Friday’s game. With Sam Merrill and Dean Wade available, there will be additional minutes available. However, Hunter has not been productive enough to merit rostering in most fantasy leagues.

Hunter was initially questionable after missing Wednesday’s game, but he is now expected to suit up. Craig Porter Jr. and Nae’Qwan Tomlin took on extra minutes with Hunter out, but they’ll lose out on minutes with Hunter back in the lineup.

Hunter did not play in Wednesday’s win over the Suns, resulting in more minutes for Craig Porter Jr. and Nae’Qwan Tomlin. While neither player will be worth streaming, they should pick up additional minutes if Hunter remains out on Friday.

Hunter will be forced out of action against Phoenix, which means more run for the likes of Jaylon Tyson, Dean Wade and Sam Merrill. His next chance to return will be Friday against the Nuggets.

While Hunter’s lack of production in assists, steals and blocked shots limits his ceiling in category leagues, the reserve wing is capable of going off offensively. He answered the call on Monday, scoring 27 points, the most he’s scored in a game since November 8. Rostered in 21 percent of Yahoo! leagues, Hunter has been ranked outside the top-200 in eight-cat formats over the last two weeks. While Monday’s performance was a step in the right direction, he remains a deep-league option at best.

Hunter is being given the night off on the second game of a back-to-back against the Raptors on Monday. The 27-year-old small forward had 17 points and four three-pointers against the Clippers on Sunday. Hunter is just one of six players listed as out already for the Cavaliers on Monday.

Shooting just 31.3 percent from three on the season, Hunter has picked up the production recently. Over the last three games, he’s shot 12-of-24 from deep, which will definitely help that percentage for the season. However, the issue for Hunter isn’t percentages; it’s the limited production outside of points, rebounds and three-pointers. His four assists on Sunday were the most in a game for Hunter since November 13, when he dished out a season-high six against the Raptors. Racking up assists in a lineup that includes Darius Garland and Donovan Mitchell is challenging, which is where the defensive stats should come in. Unfortunately, the production in those categories has been limited.

Hunter provided limited value outside of the points and three-pointers, but that has been the norm for him throughout his NBA career. Due to the limited production in assists, steals and blocked shots, he’s still ranked outside the top-100 in nine-cat formats. The good news for those who have Hunter rostered is that he appears to be a safe bet to start until Max Strus returns from offseason ankle surgery. Hunter’s rostered in 34 percent of Yahoo! leagues, a fair percentage given the lackluster production in multiple categories.

Hunter extended his streak of 20-point games to three on Wednesday, needing just 28 minutes to accomplish such. The three-point shot, once again, failed him, but his near-perfection from inside the arc helped him finish as one of two Cavaliers to cross the 20-point mark. Hunter has enjoyed a strong season thus far as a scorer — if he can find his rhythm from three-point land, he’ll be an even more impactful player in fantasy leagues.

One game removed from tallying a season-high 29 points, Hunter dropped in 23 more in Monday’s overtime defeat. Rostered in 31 percent of Yahoo! leagues, he’s ranked just outside the top-100 in eight- and nine-cat formats. Hunter hasn’t been the best option in standard category leagues, but the current circumstances in Cleveland make him worth a look. He’ll likely be a starter until Max Strus returns from offseason surgery, and the Cavaliers may be without Darius Garland after he injured his toe during Monday’s game.

Hunter stepped up to shoulder more of the scoring and play-making workload in this one with Darius Garland, who made his season debut earlier this week following offseason toe surgery, held out on the tail-end of a back-to-back. Jaylon Tyson got the start in place of Garland, which figures to happen again early next week against the Heat. He finished with 17 points and seven rebounds in 30 minutes. Hunter delivered several highlight-reel worthy plays, including four three-pointers and a massive dunk after dropping Josh Giddey with a phenomenal crossover in the second quarter.

The Cavs will debut a new opening lineup on Friday, with Garland and Hunter starting together for the first time. Garland made his 2025-26 debut in the most recent Cavaliers win after dealing with a toe injury to begin the year. In the contest, he tallied eight points, two rebounds and four assists in 26 minutes. The Cavaliers aren’t at full strength, but Garland’s return to the starting unit is a positive for a team looking to build on its second-round playoff exit from the previous season.

Initially questionable for Friday’s contest, Hunter is good to go after missing Wednesday’s win over the 76ers. He’ll likely bump Jaylon Tyson to the bench, with the second-year wing’s already-low fantasy value taking a hit. There’s no need to hold onto Tyson in this spot.

Added to the Cavaliers’ injury report late Wednesday morning, Hunter will not play against the 76ers. His absence coincides with Sam Merrill’s return from a hip injury, but Jaylon Tyson will be in the starting lineup. Once the Cavaliers are healthy, Hunter will be used in a reserve role.

Hunter is a late addition to the injury report, and his potential absence would open up a starting spot. Jaylon Tyson has been starting in place of Darius Garland, but with Garland expected back against Philadelphia, Tyson could remain a starter if Hunter isn’t available.

Hunter, who has been a starter due to Max Strus’ absence, is averaging 18.2 points per game, which would be a career-best if he were to sustain it. Of even greater value to category-league managers has been his improved production in other key categories, most notably rebounds and assists. Hunter goes into Week 3 providing top-100 value in eight cat formats, exceeding his Yahoo! ADP of 140. Cleveland doesn’t play again until Wednesday, so there’s no need to add Hunter yet. But he’ll be worth a look in a few days, as Cleveland plays three games in the final five days of Week 3.

Hunter was one of primary beneficiaries of Jarrett Allen, Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland all missing this game. The 27-year-old small forward played 34 minutes, had 26 points and made four three-pointers, all of which are season-highs at this point for Hunter. He should have some opportunities to step up and have big games when his teammates return from injury because he’s still one of the Cavaliers’ starting players.

While Hunter finished with a solid point total, the field goal percentage was lacking due to a 3-of-12 night from beyond the arc. He and many other Cavaliers may have been too willing to settle for triples, as they shot 17-of-52 on the night. Boston is also a high-volume three-point shooting team, but they made 21 three-pointers and outscored Cleveland at the foul line (20-18). Hunter has ample opportunities to produce since he’s in the starting lineup, and that’s unlikely to change until Max Strus (ankle) returns to action.

After missing the first two games due to a knee injury suffered during the preseason, Hunter made his season debut against the Bucks as part of the starting lineup. He did not provide any defensive stats, and the assists were limited, which is why Hunter is not a popular option for fantasy managers despite being a starter. Rostered in 20 percent of Yahoo! leagues, he should remain in that role until Max Strus returns from offseason foot surgery. Hunter is only worth a look in deep leagues, so that rostered percentage should not change much following Sunday’s performance.

Hunter is available after missing the first two games of the season. However, it’s unclear how much he’ll play, so fantasy managers should expect a minutes restriction. Jaylon Tyson filled the void left by Hunter, but he was not productive enough to merit being rostered in most redraft leagues. Joining Hunter in the starting lineup are Donovan Mitchell, Sam Merrill, Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen.

Hunter, who suffered a right knee contusion during the preseason, was also considered questionable ahead of the first two regular-season games before being ruled out. While Jaylon Tyson has filled the resulting void in the starting lineup, reserve Dean Wade has played more minutes. If deep-league managers seek a streamer in case Hunter missed a third straight game, Wade should be the priority add instead of Tyson.

Hunter will miss a second straight game, which likely means another start for Jaylon Tyson. However, Tyson only played 20 minutes as a starter, while Dean Wade logged 28 minutes off the bench and was more productive in the box score. The pair should split the minutes on the wing once again.

Hunter missed the season opener on Wednesday, which allowed Jaylon Tyson to slide into the starting lineup. Tyson logged 20 minutes as a starter, while Dean Wade played 28 minutes off the bench. If Hunter remains out, both Tyson and Wade will split minutes on the wing once again, though neither will be great streaming options.

Hunter, who suffered a knee contusion during an October 14 preseason game against the Pistons, was initially questionable for Wednesday’s season opener. He was due to fill the void in the starting lineup left by Max Strus (foot). Dean Wade and Jaylon Tyson are potential replacements, with the latter offering a higher streaming ceiling.

Coach Kenny Atkinson said they’ll see how Hunter responds on Wednesday before determining his status for their matchup with the Knicks. If Hunter isn’t available, Jaylon Tyson or Dean Wade would likely fill out the open starting spot, with Tyson having a much higher ceiling for streaming value.

Hunter was injured during Cleveland’s preseason finale on October 14, as he banged knees during a game against the Pistons. While the forward said after the game that he would be fine, he’s been limited to individual work in recent practices. While Cavaliers head coach Kenny Atkinson said Hunter was moving “very well,” he did not provide a clear answer when asked about the forward’s availability for Wednesday’s opener against the Knicks. Fantasy managers should consider Hunter, who’s expected to start for the injured Max Strus, questionable for Wednesday night.

On the heels of an efficient 17-point outing in 18 minutes on Tuesday, Hunter needed just 24 minutes of action to efficiently hit the 20-point mark on Thursday. The former veteran forward mainly utilized the three-point shot to find scoring production on Thursday, but also showed active hands on the defensive end to accumulate three stocks. Hunter was one of three Cavaliers starters to score in double figures on the night, and overall, he has performed well through limited preseason games.

Hunter, who dislocated the thumb on his shooting (right) hand during Game 1, was one of three Cavaliers’ rotation players to miss Game 2, with Darius Garland and Evan Mobley being the others. Hunter’s absence led to more rotation minutes for Isaac Okoro, who logged 30 minutes in Game 2 and finished with five points, two rebounds, one assist and two steals. How much Okoro plays in Game 3 will also depend on the status of Evan Mobley (ankle), who did not play in Game 2.
