While Hunter practiced on Wednesday, he has not appeared in a game since a February 6 loss to the Clippers. The wing, acquired from the Cavaliers at the trade deadline, was inadvertently struck in the left eye by Clippers wing Kobe Sanders, resulting in left eye iritis. Further evaluations revealed a detached retina, prompting Friday’s procedure. Hunter is the third Kings rotation player to be ruled out for the rest of the season, joining Zach LaVine and Domantas Sabonis. Hunter’s absence means more playing time for Nique Clifford and Daeqwon Plowden, with the former being a player who should be rostered for the rest of the season.

While Hunter participated in Wednesday’s practice, he is not yet ready to play in games. The good news for the Kings is that Keegan Murray (ankle) will be available for the first time since late January. He should absorb a good percentage of the minutes that would go to Hunter.

Injured during a February 6 loss to the Cavaliers, Hunter missed Sacramento’s final two games before the All-Star break. He came off the bench in that contest, with Daeqwon Plowden starting. However, Plowden did not remain in the starting lineup, and there’s no need to consider streaming him, especially with Keegan Murray (ankle) on track to return.

Hunter has been diagnosed with iritis in his left eye after being inadvertently poked in the eye by Clippers wing Kobe Sanders during Friday’s loss to the Clippers. His absence opens up a spot in the starting lineup, with rookie Nique Clifford being the player most likely to fill the void. Given where the Kings are in the standings, Clifford and Devin Carter should have added fantasy value after the All-Star break.

Hunter injured his left eye after taking an inadvertent hit from Clippers’ wing Kobe Sanders. The Kings’ forward/guard has been diagnosed with left eye iritis, which is swelling and irritation in the colored ring around the pupil. Hopefully, this will not be an injury that keeps Hunter sidelined for an extended period. Nique Clifford, who logged 33 minutes on Friday, may move into the starting lineup after coming off the bench.

Hunter was struck near the eye during the third quarter of Friday’s contest when attempting to defend the Clippers’ Kobe Sanders. He exited the game and was eventually ruled out during the fourth quarter. Hunter, who was recently acquired by the Kings via trade, has started in each of his two appearances with the team. If he has to miss any time, Nique Clifford could see an increased role.

Hunter will make his Kings’ debut as a starter, pushing Precious Achiuwa out of the starting lineup. As a starter, Hunter possesses a higher fantasy ceiling, but he may only be in that role until Keegan Murray returns from his sprained left ankle. Westbrook and Sabonis are back in the lineup, with the latter having missed Sacramento’s last three games.

Saturday’s trade was a three-team affair, with the Bulls receiving Dario Sarić and two second-round picks. As for Hunter, a trade made last February that was meant to bolster the Cavaliers’ bench offered mixed results. After averaging 19.0 points per game in 37 appearances for the Hawks to begin the 2024-25 season, his scoring decreased by nearly five points in Cleveland. Add in the size of Hunter’s contract, and the move makes sense for the Cavaliers financially while also adding point guard depth.

Back in the Cavaliers’ rotation after a two-game absence, Hunter’s 19 points were the most he’s scored in a game since December 22. The issue from a fantasy standpoint is that he offers little defensive value, lowering his ceiling considerably. With Evan Mobley (calf) out, the Cavaliers are going to need increased production from the entire rotation, including Hunter. He’s worth watching, but Wednesday’s performance doesn’t change much regarding Hunter’s value in standard leagues.

Hunter will return from a two-game absence on Wednesday as the Cavaliers take on the Lakers. The veteran forward has had a down season compared to the previous one, but is still a capable scorer off the bench. The Cavaliers are currently riding a four-game win streak, and with Hunter healthy, they should be in a stronger position to extend their run to five games.

Hunter has missed Cleveland’s last two games, but he is expected to return to take on Los Angeles. However, with Sam Merrill (illness) also probable, and Jaylon Tyson playing well, Hunter will likely continue to play a role off the bench that won’t be large enough for him to make an impact for fantasy managers.

Hunter will miss a second consecutive game as he deals with a sore right knee. Rookie Tyrese Proctor saw his playing time increase in Saturday’s win over Orlando, and that should be the case on Monday as well. However, he should only be rostered in dynasty leagues.

Hunter did not play in Saturday’s win over the Magic, with his absence factoring into rookie Tyrese Proctor picking up rotation minutes off the bench. Even if Hunter remains out, Proctor should only be rostered in dynasty leagues.

Hunter was a late addition to the Cavaliers’ injury report, and now he’s officially out. Cleveland’s bench rotation takes a hit, but this won’t significantly affect fantasy basketball. Nae’Qwan Tomlin may pick up a few more minutes, but there’s no need to stream him.

Hunter is a late addition to the injury report, with Saturday’s game scheduled to tip off at 7 PM Eastern. His availability does not have a significant impact on fantasy basketball, even with Sam Merrill being out. There may be a few more minutes for Nae’Qwan Tomlin, but he should not be streamed when coming off the bench.

Hunter followed up a poor two-game stretch with two solid performances in consecutive games against the 76ers. While he was able to score in double figures once again, it came inefficiently. Both the poor shooting and turnovers limited the impact that his rebounds and free throws would have made. Hunter has never been a great option in category leagues, and now that he is coming off the bench, his upside is limited. Still, he is better than what he put together in this game and should respond against the Hornets on Wednesday.

To say Hunter needed a night like Wednesday would be an understatement. In Cleveland’s two previous games, he totaled six points on 2-of-10 shooting from the field. Returning home did some good for the Philadelphia native, as Hunter’s 17 points were the most he’s scored in a game since December 22. With Sam Merrill (hand) and Darius Garland (foot) exiting Wednesday’s game due to injury, Hunter may have a slightly higher fantasy ceiling in the short term. What’s holding him back is the lack of defensive production.

Hunter is good to go after initially being probable for Friday’s game. With Sam Merrill and Dean Wade available, there will be additional minutes available. However, Hunter has not been productive enough to merit rostering in most fantasy leagues.

While Hunter’s lack of production in assists, steals and blocked shots limits his ceiling in category leagues, the reserve wing is capable of going off offensively. He answered the call on Monday, scoring 27 points, the most he’s scored in a game since November 8. Rostered in 21 percent of Yahoo! leagues, Hunter has been ranked outside the top-200 in eight-cat formats over the last two weeks. While Monday’s performance was a step in the right direction, he remains a deep-league option at best.

Hunter is being given the night off on the second game of a back-to-back against the Raptors on Monday. The 27-year-old small forward had 17 points and four three-pointers against the Clippers on Sunday. Hunter is just one of six players listed as out already for the Cavaliers on Monday.

Shooting just 31.3 percent from three on the season, Hunter has picked up the production recently. Over the last three games, he’s shot 12-of-24 from deep, which will definitely help that percentage for the season. However, the issue for Hunter isn’t percentages; it’s the limited production outside of points, rebounds and three-pointers. His four assists on Sunday were the most in a game for Hunter since November 13, when he dished out a season-high six against the Raptors. Racking up assists in a lineup that includes Darius Garland and Donovan Mitchell is challenging, which is where the defensive stats should come in. Unfortunately, the production in those categories has been limited.

Hunter provided limited value outside of the points and three-pointers, but that has been the norm for him throughout his NBA career. Due to the limited production in assists, steals and blocked shots, he’s still ranked outside the top-100 in nine-cat formats. The good news for those who have Hunter rostered is that he appears to be a safe bet to start until Max Strus returns from offseason ankle surgery. Hunter’s rostered in 34 percent of Yahoo! leagues, a fair percentage given the lackluster production in multiple categories.

Hunter extended his streak of 20-point games to three on Wednesday, needing just 28 minutes to accomplish such. The three-point shot, once again, failed him, but his near-perfection from inside the arc helped him finish as one of two Cavaliers to cross the 20-point mark. Hunter has enjoyed a strong season thus far as a scorer — if he can find his rhythm from three-point land, he’ll be an even more impactful player in fantasy leagues.

One game removed from tallying a season-high 29 points, Hunter dropped in 23 more in Monday’s overtime defeat. Rostered in 31 percent of Yahoo! leagues, he’s ranked just outside the top-100 in eight- and nine-cat formats. Hunter hasn’t been the best option in standard category leagues, but the current circumstances in Cleveland make him worth a look. He’ll likely be a starter until Max Strus returns from offseason surgery, and the Cavaliers may be without Darius Garland after he injured his toe during Monday’s game.

Hunter stepped up to shoulder more of the scoring and play-making workload in this one with Darius Garland, who made his season debut earlier this week following offseason toe surgery, held out on the tail-end of a back-to-back. Jaylon Tyson got the start in place of Garland, which figures to happen again early next week against the Heat. He finished with 17 points and seven rebounds in 30 minutes. Hunter delivered several highlight-reel worthy plays, including four three-pointers and a massive dunk after dropping Josh Giddey with a phenomenal crossover in the second quarter.

The Cavs will debut a new opening lineup on Friday, with Garland and Hunter starting together for the first time. Garland made his 2025-26 debut in the most recent Cavaliers win after dealing with a toe injury to begin the year. In the contest, he tallied eight points, two rebounds and four assists in 26 minutes. The Cavaliers aren’t at full strength, but Garland’s return to the starting unit is a positive for a team looking to build on its second-round playoff exit from the previous season.
