While it was reported earlier Wednesday that Harden planned to play through his fractured right thumb, he will not be available for the matchup with the Bucks. His absence opens up a spot in the starting lineup for Dennis Schröder, with Craig Porter Jr. picking up rotation minutes off the bench.

Harden had X-rays done after injuring his non-shooting thumb against New York, which revealed a non-displaced fracture of the distal phalanx. He’s current listed as questionable, and he’ll continue to undergo treatment. The team will provide updates as appropriate, but it seems likely that he misses this game against Milwaukee. Dennis Schroder would likely start at point guard in his place, with Craig Porter Jr. taking on extra minutes off the bench.

Harden’s four assists were the fewest he’s recorded in a game since joining the Cavaliers, but it didn’t matter much on a night when Cleveland held New York to 11 third-quarter points. Since the trade, The Beard has provided top-25 per-game value in eight-cat formats, according to Basketball Monster. While the fantasy value has dipped slightly, that’s more due to Harden and his new teammates getting acclimated to each other than to any struggles.

This was the first loss of the Harden era in Cleveland, but he was still able to turn in a strong performance as one of three Cavs to finish with 20 points. His counting stats have gone down since the trade from the Clippers, but he has been far more efficient, which has allowed him to maintain second-round value in nine-category leagues. They have four games next week, starting against the Knicks on Tuesday.

The Cavaliers have now won their last seven games, five of which were played after the team acquired Harden. While he hasn’t had any explosive offensive performances, The Beard’s presence has opened things up for his new teammates, most notably Donovan Mitchell and Jarrett Allen. Over the past two weeks, Harden has been a top-20 player in eight- and nine-cat formats, which aligns with his season-long value.

Harden played 28 minutes on Thursday, the most of any Cavaliers’ starter in the 112-84 victory. The good news for fantasy managers is that he was still productive in those minutes, shooting 75 percent from the field and producing quality numbers in the assist and steal categories. Dennis Schröder played 20 minutes off the bench, finishing with 12 points, three rebounds, three assists, one steal and one three-pointer.

Playing in front of the Cavaliers faithful as a member of the team for the first time, Harden took a back seat as a scorer on Wednesday. He focused more on setting up his teammates, leading to 11 assists. Through three games in Cleveland, The Beard has accumulated 26 assists. He was responsible for six turnovers, but Harden totaled five in his first two appearances. The Cavaliers complete Week 17 with three games after the All-Star break.

It was Donovan Mitchell that hit the game-winning free throws, but the game was only tied because Harden hit a late triple. The first two games of Harden’s tenure in Cleveland have been wins, and he has been productive for fantasy managers during those. His usage has dipped slightly through the first two games, though that hasn’t limited his impact in the box score. He’ll look to keep it up against the Wizards on Wednesday.

Harden commended his new teammates for how together, connected and unselfish they are, saying he’s just happy to be there. The 36-year-old point guard played his role just fine Saturday. Harden took a back seat to Donovan Mitchell when it came to scoring, but he was able to dish out eight assists in the flow of the offense and also made 5-of-8 from behind the three-point line. His fantasy value figures to remain pretty high in Cleveland.

Harden is set to make his Cavaliers’ debut. And to no one’s surprise, he will do so as a starter. Dean Wade is listed as probable, but he may have been the player selected to go to the bench if he were healthy. Tyson remaining in the starting lineup means he remains a player worth holding in 12-team leagues.

Rumors of the Clippers and Cavaliers discussing a trade first surfaced Monday evening, and the two sides agreed on a deal within one day. Harden, whose contract for the 2026-27 season is only partially guaranteed if he picks up the play option, now joins forces with Donovan Mitchell to give the Cavaliers an experienced (and currently healthy) playmaker. Once he gets to Cleveland, Harden will likely push Sam Merrill or Jaylon Tyson to the bench, with the latter having an excellent second season in the NBA.

SI’s Chris Mannix also reported that the Clippers and Cavaliers are discussing a deal that would center around a swap of Harden and Darius Garland. Desperation tends to rise when pressure increases, and the trade deadline will do just that for teams that are looking to contend. Harden has missed the last two games due to personal reasons, and it seems there is a real possibility he has played his final game as a Clipper.

This will be a second straight game that Harden will be away from the team for. Kobe Sanders replaced him in the starting lineup and scored 12 points in 31 minutes. He should remain a starter, and he should be in for another decent night, though managers shouldn’t expect much more from him.

Harden will not be available for Sunday’s game for personal reasons. His absence leaves a massive hole in the Clippers’ lineup, especially given the team’s lack of point guards. Kris Dunn’s playing time will likely increase after he logged 25 minutes in Friday’s loss to the Nuggets. Also, Kawhi Leonard is likely to spend more time on the ball initiating offense.

Harden led the Clippers in scoring and nearly recorded a second straight double-double, which he hasn’t done since November. However, he was able to have an efficient night as a scorer. In January, Harden has only shot better tan 40 percent in four games, including this one. It wasn’t enough to get a win, but it was a productive night for him, and he’ll look to keep that going in Phoenix on Sunday.

For the fifth time this month, Harden was able to record a double-double, though he struggled as a shooter. This was the fourth straight game and the eighth time in his last nine that he shot below 40 percent from the floor. He also matched his season high for steals, which helped make up for the rough shooting. They’ve now won nine of their last 10 games, and they’ll look to stay hot in Denver on Friday.

Harden’s perfect night at the foul line pumped up the points tally, with the overall production being solid. More problematic than the 3-of-8 shooting from the field were the five turnovers, as The Beard has been responsible for 18 over his last three games. While that isn’t an issue for managers competing in eight-cat formats or punting turnovers, it would be nice for Harden to clean up that category during the Clippers’ three-game Week 15.

While Harden finished with a double-double and solid production in the rebound category, fantasy managers took a beating from an efficiency standpoint. In addition to a 6-of-21 night from the field, the Clippers’ point guard recorded seven turnovers. Over his last two games, Harden has been responsible for 16 assists and 13 turnovers. While the track record shows that high-turnover nights are going to happen because of Harden’s usage, combining that with a supbar shooting night can be challenging for some fantasy managers to overcome.

Harden entered play with at least 31 points in three of his last four games. Scoring didn’t come as easily for the 36-year-old point guard on Tuesday. Harden was hardly efficient against the Bulls with 24 points on 25 field goal attempts. He had just three made free throws after having made at least seven free throws in seven consecutive games entering play Tuesday. Harden will continue to be the leading man for the Clippers with Kawhi Leonard (knee) out, which raises his fantasy ceiling. He’s provided 13th-overall per game value over the last two weeks. The Clippers return home on Thursday to play the Lakers.

Harden didn’t have it from beyond the arc on Monday, as he missed all five of his attempts. However, he shot 75 percent from two and wore a beaten path to the foul line, attempting 20 free throws. With Kawhi Leonard (knee) out, even more of the offensive responsibilities fall on Harden’s shoulders. And he’s capable of taking over, as he did during Monday’s victory. The Clippers visit the Bulls on Tuesday in the final game of their road trip.

Harden led the Clippers to victory with Kawhi Leonard sidelined against the Raptors on Friday. The 36-year-old point guard had 16 points in the fourth quarter and overtime combined to help secure the victory on the road. He’s provided second-round per game value over the last two weeks. The Clippers will have the rest of the weekend off before a four-game week in Week 14.

Harden struggled with his shooting efficiency against the Wizards, but utilized the free-throw line to finish as one of two Clippers with at least 20 points. The former league MVP also led the team in assists on the evening and protected the basketball fairly well in the process. Harden has quietly shot inefficiently in the majority of his appearances during January. If he can find his rhythm again as a scorer, he’d likely see an uptick in his overall offensive numbers, which would equate to better fantasy basketball production.

Harden made some personal history during Monday’s game, and it can be argued that the way in which he did it was fitting. The Clippers’ guard made use of a ball screen, dribbling to his left and knocking down a three-pointer with 9:12 remaining in the third quarter to move into ninth on the NBA’s all-time points list. Harden, who passed Shaquille O’Neal, finished the victory with 32 points, the most in a game for him since scoring 34 in a December 26 win over the Trail Blazers.

Harden did most of his damage in the second half, scoring 14 of his 19 points in the final two quarters, after Los Angeles got off to an agonizingly slow start in this road matchup. The managed to salvage an abysmal shooting performance on the second night of a back-to-back by getting to the line a whopping 11 times. It’s been another vintage Harden season so far as he’s averaging 25.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, 7.9 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.3 blocks through 35 games.

Harden put the Clippers on his back Friday, leading the team with 31 points. The 36-year-old point guard impressively and effortlessly carved up the Nets defense, shooting 10-of-13 from the field. That will help make up for his 6-of-17 game against the Knicks earlier this week. Harden is 18th-overall in per game value this year. The Clippers will be in Detroit Saturday as they take on the Pistons on the second night of a back-to-back.

Back in the lineup after sitting out Monday’s win over the Warriors, Harden got back on track with his three-point shot in New York. After shooting 1-of-6 from three in each of his previous three games, The Beard made four of his seven attempts against the Knicks. Unfortunately for Harden and those who have him rostered, he was 2-of-10 from two. While the overall stat line was solid, the field-goal percentage took a hit in Harden’s first game of Week 12.

Harden was ruled out after being added to the injury report Monday afternoon as questionable with a sore right shoulder.
