With Josh Giddey (ankle) unavailable, Huerter made his first start of the season on Monday. And “Red Velvet” was excellent, shooting over 50 percent from the field and finishing a blocked shot shy of a complete stat line. Rostered in 14 percent of Yahoo! leagues, Huerter is providing seventh-round value in nine-cat formats. He isn’t a must-roster player when the Bulls are whole, but with Giddey and Coby White out, Huerter is a worthwhile streamer.

The Bulls are without Josh Giddey (ankle) for Monday’s game, opening up a spot in the starting lineup. Huerter will fill the resulting void, raising his fantasy value. However, Ayo Dosunmu also benefits from Giddey’s absence despite coming off the bench.

“Red Velvet” provided limited production in Wednesday’s defeat, which included a 1-of-4 night from beyond the arc. The three “stocks” were solid, but Chicago needed more from Huerter on a night when the team scored a season-low 90 points. After being traded to the Bulls in early February, Huerter was a 10th-round player in nine-cat formats, spending considerable time in the starting lineup. However, those starts were made possible by injuries to Lonzo Ball and Tre Jones. Huerter has one season remaining on his contract and should be in the rotation. However, a healthy Ball likely pushes him to the bench, especially if the Bulls re-sign Josh Giddey.

Huerter got off to a scorching hot start and entered halftime with 18 points and five triples. However, he didn’t play after halftime and ended up playing just 16 minutes, though that was enough time for him to lead the Bulls in scoring. Huerter has played well since being traded to Chicago and should continue to play a significant role in the postseason. They’ll host the Heat to start next week and will have to win two games to make the playoffs.

Both players will be good to go after initially being listed as questionable. Huerter missed the first leg of Chicago’s back-to-back, but he should be back in the starting lineup for this game. Smith will be available after seeing a bump in minutes in the blowout loss on Monday, but with Zach Collins operating as the backup center, Smith’s minutes aren’t guaranteed.

Huerter and Terry join a number of other Bulls’ backcourt players on a growing injury list that suggests the team may punt this one against a tanking Toronto team.

With Lonzo Ball and Tre Jones also sidelined, Huerter’s injury could free up some additional playing time for Dalen Terry and Julian Phillips.

Huerter rebounded from Monday’s nine-point performance in a big way on Thursday. He reached 20 points for the second time in Chicago’s last four games, and after only hitting one triple over their two previous games, Huerter knocked down five of them as the Bulls won their fourth-straight game. Huerter also hit the 1,000th three-pointer of his career, which is a special milestone for the 26-year-old sharpshooter. He’ll look to carry this momentum into a matchup with Dallas on Saturday to wrap up the week.

Initially probable for Saturday’s game, Huerter is good to go. With Tre Jones (foot) out for at least two weeks, Red Velvet will likely remain in the Bulls’ starting lineup for the foreseeable future. This raises Huerter’s fantasy ceiling, making him worth rostering in deep leagues.

Coming off his best game as a Bull, Huerter is dealing with a sprain in his right thumb, but he isn’t expected to miss Saturday’s game. Huerter has started the last five games for Chicago, and that isn’t expected to change.

Huerter made his return to Sacramento after being traded to Chicago at the deadline. Clearly, there was some added motivation for him after he was part of the deal that brought Zach LaVine to the Kings. Huerter outscored LaVine 25 to eight and had his best game as a Bull. Huerter has played well recently overall as a starter for their last five games, but this game was a step beyond his recent play. He’ll look to carry this momentum to Los Angeles for a matchup with the Lakers on Saturday.

Josh Giddey’s (ankle) absence has boosted Huerter’s value, as he has started Chicago’s last three games. Red Velvet struggled in Saturday’s loss to the Rockets, scoring nine points on 4-of-11 shooting, but he was much better against the lottery-bound Jazz. The five three-pointers were the most in a game for Huerter since February 24, when he hit seven in a win over the 76ers. Rostered in 11 percent of Yahoo! leagues, Huerter is worth streaming as long as Giddey is out.

This was Chicago’s first game without Josh Giddey (ankle), and it’s unclear exactly how many more games he’ll miss. It will likely be a multi-game absence, which provides Huerter with some value as a streaming option. This was his second start as a Bull, and he is now averaging 20.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 4.5 three-pointers as a starter for Chicago. Huerter is rostered in just 12 percent of Yahoo! leagues. Chicago only has one more game left this week, but they have a four-game week after that.

Huerter will replace Josh Giddey (ankle) in the starting lineup. Giddey may miss a few games, but an official timeline for him isn’t clear. Vucevic will return to the starting unit in place of Zach Collins, who had been starting while Vucevic was out. Vucevic is expected to be limited to 28-30 minutes, so Collins should still play a significant role for a reserve.

Huerter is part of a lengthy list of absentees for the Bulls on Tuesday, with Josh Giddey and Lonzo Ball among the others who will not play. Dalen Terry and Julian Phillips are two rotation players who should see more action due to the injuries, but neither is worth the streaming risk in most fantasy leagues.

Huerter did not play in Sunday’s loss to the Pacers and did not practice on Monday. He’s reportedly still dealing with some soreness in his knee, especially when cutting laterally. Dalen Terry and Tre Jones are in line for additional minutes, especially with Ayo Dosunmu (shoulder) already out for the rest of the season.

Huerter can reportedly shoot and jump up and down, but he is feeling soreness when he cuts laterally. That isn’t a great sign for his chances of playing against Cleveland on Tuesday. Both Dalen Terry and Tre Jones will take on extra minutes if Huerter remains out.

Huerter has played a larger role off the bench for Chicago recently, but there is a chance that he misses this game. Ayo Dosunmu (shoulder) has already been ruled out, so Tre Jones and Dalen Terry will likely be among the reserves that play a large role for Chicago if Huerter is sidelined.
