Council IV saw his playing time nearly double in Year 2 as he logged 17.1 minutes across 73 appearances in 2024-25. In 12 starts, the Arkansas product averaged 12.9 points and 6.2 rebounds. He could see meaningful rotation minutes for Brooklyn during the upcoming campaign.

Council IV filled in for the injured Guerschon Yabusele, and he made the most of his opportunity with a game-high rebound total. Philadelphia was missing 10 players, and the team is likely to be quite shorthanded for the final seven games of the season. Council IV could see additional starts for the season’s final contests.

The 76ers are without Quentin Grimes and Guerschon Yabusele, opening up two spots in the starting lineup. Walker and Council will fill the resulting voids, and both players are worth streaming in deep leagues. Also, Butler should play plenty since Jeff Dowtin Jr. is inactive.

Butler will return to the starting lineup in place of Quentin Grimes, who is getting a rest night to help Philadelphia’s lottery odds. Council IV will also enter the starting lineup, replacing Jeff Dowtin Jr. despite his 17/4/3/3/2 line in 26 minutes on Sunday.

Council IV has taken on a more consistent role in recent weeks after being in and out of the rotation for most of the season. After making just one of his 11 shot attempts on Wednesday, Council IV responded by setting a new season-high for scoring. He has scored in double figures in six of his last seven games and has started three times during that stretch. He is a difficult player to trust in standard leagues, but he has had some productive performances recently.

Council, who had fallen out of the 76ers’ rotation for most of February, made his first start since February 2 on Friday. With Paul George’s status for the rest of the season uncertain, this may have been the first of many nights in which Council logs starters’ minutes. He was solid against the Pacers, blocking three shots and scoring 14 points in 36 minutes. There should be an update on George’s status early next week. At a minimum, deep-league managers can stream Council for Sunday’s game against the Mavericks.

Council IV’s role with Philadelphia hasn’t been consistent, but he has had some solid performances when he has been given the opportunity. This was another one of those games, and he set a new season-high for scoring in 29 minutes off the bench. Philly’s bench accounted for 53 of their 123 points, with Jeff Dowtin Jr. (17) and Adem Bona (12) also scoring in double figures. Council IV will certainly have a chance to impact fantasy basketball during “silly season”, and he certainly holds value in dynasty formats.
