Saturday’s game will be the tenth that Jackson has missed since suffering a head injury, but the good news is that he is no longer in the league’s concussion protocol. According to Carlisle, the former first-round pick is now working on improving his conditioning and will miss at least one more week. Until Jackson can play, the Pacers will continue to rely on Jay Huff, Micah Potter and Tony Bradley at the center position.

Jackson has not appeared in a game since December 22, as he remains in the league’s concussion protocol. The Pacers have stuck with a rotation of Jay Huff and Micah Potter recently, but Tony Bradley played 15 minutes on Thursday due to the latter’s early exit with an injury. Potter is available for Saturday’s game.

Jackson will miss a ninth consecutive game as he remains in the league’s concussion protocol. The Pacers have relied on a rotation of Jay Huff and Micah Potter at the center position, with whichever player has the “hot hand” getting more minutes. Neither has been the most reliable fantasy option, and the rotation may have something to do with that.

This will be Jackson’s eighth straight absence, with no end in sight. Micah Potter has been Indiana’s starting center recently, with Jay Huff and Tony Bradley serving as backups. That should continue against Cleveland.

Jackson will miss a fifth consecutive game while in concussion protocols. Tony Bradley and Micah Potter will fill out the backup center minutes behind Jay Huff, though neither replacement will take on enough minutes to be worth streaming.

Monday’s game will be the fourth that Jackson has missed since entering the league’s concussion protocol. While his production has not consistently affected fantasy basketball this season, not having Jackson leaves the Pacers light on options at the center position.

Jackson suffered a head injury in the first half of Monday’s loss to the Celtics and also missed Friday’s game with a concussion. His absence hasn’t impacted fantasy basketball as Jay Huff continues to play 21 minutes per game.

Jackson suffered a head injury during Monday’s loss to the Celtics and has since entered the league’s concussion protocol. His absence did not result in more minutes for starting center Jay Huff, who logged 21 minutes in Tuesday’s loss to the Bucks. James Wiseman played 12 minutes off the bench. Huff is the only player worth considering in fantasy leagues, and even that comes with considerable risk.

Jackson was bumped to the bench for Friday’s game, and he wasn’t effective in that role. However, he was able to make a large impact in this one. Both Pacers bigs had success, as Jay Huff, who started at center, contributed 14 points, four blocks and four triples. Chicago allows a lot of paint points, so this was a favorable matchup, but it was still good to see both centers turn in strong stat lines. However, this is likely a one-time thing and not the start of a productive run for both.

Mathurin is back and will make his first appearance since October 25, as he returns from a foot injury. As a result, Jeremiah Robinson-Earl will head back to the bench. The other change is Jackson, who replaces Tony Bradley in the starting five. Mathurin’s minutes will likely be limited, but he’s worth rostering given the Pacers’ lack of consistent scorers.

Jackson had plenty of hype during the preseason due to the lack of other center options in Indiana. He has started all but one game, but he was largely unproductive to start the year. However, over the last three games, he’s averaging 13.3 points and 9.7 rebounds, and this was his first double-double of the year. Jackson is currently rostered in just eight percent of Yahoo! leagues and still has three more games left this week.

Jackson and Wiseman suffered season-ending Achilles injuries last season, so there were questions as to whether they’d be available for the Pacers’ second game in as many nights. They’ll play, but neither has been good enough to merit being rostered in any fantasy leagues. Fantasy managers needing frontcourt help should focus on Obi Toppin and Jarace Walker, prioritizing the former.

Since Myles Turner left for Milwaukee, the starting center spot in Indiana was up for grabs. Jay Huff was a contender, and still is, but Jackson will get the first nod as the Turner replacement. Huff could start in future preseason games, and this doesn’t lock in Jackson as the regular season starter, but it appears that he’s in the lead for the job.

Carlisle also noted that the starting lineup hasn’t been decided, so there isn’t much to look into here, aside from Jackson seemingly getting the first chance at the role. Jay Huff will also compete for the job, and he has nearly a month to prove he deserves it. Both will be breakout candidates this season, assuming they both play significant roles.

Jackson only appeared in five games last season, as he ruptured his right Achilles tendon on November 2. The Pacers center, who recently agreed to a three-year deal worth $21 million, said Saturday that he’s anywhere from 80 to 90 percent healthy and expects to be ready for training camp. With the Pacers losing Myles Turner in free agency, Jackson is well-positioned to play significant minutes if healthy. Indiana also signed Jay Huff and James Wiseman, with the latter being on a non-guaranteed deal.

Jackson appeared in just five games for the Pacers last year before suffering a torn right Achilles tendon that ended his season. The 23-year-old big man has never averaged even 20 minutes per game in a season, but suddenly has a clear path to being the Pacers’ starting center this year with Myles Turner in Milwaukee. A former first-round pick in 2021, Jackson has a golden opportunity ahead of him and the Pacers have locked in their starting center for $21 million over the next three years.
