Johnson did not play against the Lakers on Saturday, which prompted Mouhamed Gueye to move into the starting lineup. Gueye was outstanding against the Lakers and may have earned himself a few more rotation minutes once Johnson returns. If Jalen cannot play on Monday, Gueye will remain with the starters.

Johnson will be out for the second leg of this back-to-back for the Hawks. Mouhamed Gueye started and was effective when Johnson missed a game earlier this season. Gueye should be a solid streaming option in this game.

Johnson is dealing with a right quad contusion. While he’s questionable, the Hawks are going to need him to play to have any chance against the Lakers with Trae Young and Kristaps Porzingis already ruled out. Johnson has taken his fantasy production up a notch since Young went down with the injury.

Johnson, who did everything but block a shot on Friday, once again led the Hawks in scoring. Since Halloween, the first day Atlanta played a game without the injured Trae Young, Johnson has averaged 20.8 points, 9.8 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.0 three pointers while shooting 57.9 percent from the field. For the season, he’s ranked just outside the top-25 in nine-cat formats, building on what was an excellent 2024-25 season before a shoulder injury sidelined him in January.

In the two games the Hawks have played without Trae Young (knee), Johnson has recorded at least 22 points, 13 rebounds and five assists in each. Excellent last season before suffering a season-ending injury in late January, he’s picked up where he left off, providing third-round value in eight-cat formats. Young will be out for at least four weeks, and the timeline for a sprained MCL can be closer to 6-to-8 weeks. Johnson may not be the point guard, but he’ll have the ball in his hands more, raising his already-high fantasy ceiling.

After being limited to 36 games last season, Johnson has played well to begin the 2025-26 campaign. He’s scored 21 points or more in four of his five appearances and recorded his first double-double on Friday. Johnson finished two assists shy of a triple-double, which may become a more achievable milestone for him with Trae Young (knee) unavailable. The good news for fantasy managers is that Johnson and the Hawks have one more game during Week 2, Sunday against the Cavaliers.

Johnson has looked sharp since returning from the ankle injury that sidelined him for one game. In matchups with the Bulls and Nets, he tallied 48 points on 21-of-34 shooting. Johnson has also been effective as a rebounder and assist man, and there may be more opportunities to facilitate moving forward due to Trae Young’s knee injury. Johnson had a Yahoo! ADP of 25, and while he hasn’t produced at that level so far, he isn’t far off.

Johnson and Risacher were initially probable for Monday’s game, so the status upgrades were expected. They will occupy their usual places in the Hawks’ starting lineup. While Johnson should be rostered in all leagues, Risacher is worth considering in deep leagues but is not a must-roster player.

After missing a game with a sprained right ankle, Johnson returned to the Hawks’ lineup on Monday and scored 25 points in a loss to the Bulls. The probable tag suggests he’ll be cleared to play on Wednesday, taking on his usual role within the starting lineup. Given the matchup, fantasy managers will hope Johnson is available to play against the rebuilding Nets.

Johnson missed Atlanta’s previous game with an ankle injury and was questionable entering this one. However, it didn’t seem to be giving him any trouble as he had his highest-scoring performance of the season. Johnson was drafted in the third-round of Yahoo! leagues, and this type of performance is what managers were expecting. Next up on the schedule is a trip to Brooklyn, which should be a favorable matchup for Johnson to stay hot.

After a one-game absence, Johnson will be back in the lineup to take on Chicago. Mouhamed Gueye replaced Johnson in the starting lineup on Saturday and was able to have a productive night, though he will return to the bench against the Bulls with Johnson back.

Johnson is one of three starters considered questionable for Monday’s game against the Hawks, with Zaccharie Risacher (ankle) and Kristaps Porziņģis (illness) being the others. Johnson did not play in Saturday’s loss to the Thunder, with Mouhamed Gueye replacing him in the starting lineup. Returning to the bench would remove most, if not all, of Gueye’s streaming value.

Johnson did not play in Saturday’s loss to the Thunder, Atlanta’s second game in as many days. Mouhamed Gueye replaced him in the starting lineup, finishing with 11 points, six rebounds, two assists, two blocks and two three-pointers. Gueye won’t have much streaming value if Johnson returns, especially with 11 games on the schedule.

Johnson popped up on the injury report ahead of the second leg of this back-to-back. Mouhamed Gueye, who played a larger role on Friday night with Johnson in foul trouble, should start in his place against OKC. Gueye had 13 points, eight rebounds, three assists, one block and two three-pointers in 30 minutes against Orlando.

Johnson was limited to 26 minutes in Friday’s win over the Magic, finishing with 12 points, eight rebounds, one assist and one steal. If he’s unable to play against the Thunder, the Hawks will likely turn to Mouhamed Gueye to play extended minutes. He logged 30 minutes off the bench on Friday, finishing with 13 points, eight rebounds, three assists, one block and two three-pointers. Gueye isn’t the safest streaming option, but he may be worth a look if Johnson cannot play.

On a night when the Hawks shot 42 percent from the field and gave up 138 points, Johnson was one of the few players to come through with an encouraging performance Wednesday night. The only thing missing from his stat line was a three-pointer, as the percentages were good and Johnson led the Hawks in assists. As long as he stays healthy, Johnson has a high fantasy ceiling, and many fantasy managers believe this based on his preseason ADP of 25.

Monday’s exhibition game was the first live action for Johnson since suffering a season-ending shoulder injury in January. He shot the ball well against the Rockets and was active defensively, recording two steals and two blocked shots. Also notable from Monday was Johnson starting at power forward, where he spent most of his time last season. According to Cleaning the Glass, he spent 98 percent of his minutes at the four in 2024-25. The Hawks started Kristaps Porziņģis alongside Johnson on Monday, with Onyeka Okongwu coming off the bench. Given his lack of experience at small forward, Johnson should benefit from remaining in a familiar role instead of guarding up in a bigger lineup.
