Valued mainly for his assist production and low turnover numbers, Jones has been more valuable than anticipated as a scorer. He’s reached double figures in six of eight games, with Friday’s total being a season-high. With Coby White (calf) expected to miss a few more weeks, Jones is worth holding onto. However, that will change once White is cleared to play.

Matched up with his brother Tyus, Tre was able to win this matchup. His brother was held scoreless in 14 minutes, while Jones was able to turn in a strong stat line. Jones has been a starter to open the year with Coby White (calf) sidelined, and he has taken advantage of the opportunity. Jones is currently rostered in just 19 percent of Yahoo! leagues but should be considered a must-roster player until White is available.

The Bulls have made multiple changes to the lineup that started Tuesday’s loss to the Nuggets, with Jones and Smith replacing Ayo Dosunmu and Isaac Okoro. Chicago is still awaiting the return of Coby White, who has not played at all during the preseason due to a calf injury. If he’s unable to play in the Bulls’ season opener against Detroit on October 22, it’s conceivable that Jones or Dosunmu fills the resulting void in the starting lineup.

Jones earned his first start of the preseason and provided the Bulls with a well-rounded performance. The former San Antonio Spurs point guard had similar production on Thursday as the preseason opener, reaching double figures in scoring and impacting the game with a high steal total. He’s impressed thus far and could end up being a nice backup option to projected starting guards Josh Giddey and Coby White during the regular season.

Tre Jones enters the Bulls’ starting lineup for their second preseason game, replacing Kevin Huerter, while Zach Collins enters the starting lineup for Nikola Vucevic. Huerter will come off the Bulls’ bench, where 10 players logged minutes on Tuesday. Chicago defeated Cleveland in the preseason opener and will look to earn its second victory.

Acquired from the Spurs just before the February trade deadline, Jones will remain in the Windy City for the foreseeable future. With Josh Giddey’s future still to be determined, the Bulls have secured a point guard in case they lose their starting guard. Jones started nine of the 18 games he played for Chicago last season, averaging 11.5 points, 3.2 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.1 steals in 25.3 minutes. Jones was most effective as a streamer in fantasy leagues, and that would only change in 2025-26 if the Bulls were to lose Giddey, a restricted free agent.

Due to a left midfoot sprain, Jones missed Chicago’s final 12 games of the regular season. While no longer needing to wear a walking boot is a positive development, this does not mean a return to game action is right around the corner. During his pregame availability, Bulls coach Billy Donovan said that Jones is unlikely to be ready in time for the first round of the playoffs should Chicago advance out of the Play-In tournament. If the Bulls beat Miami, they’ll visit the Hawks on Friday, with the winner of that game being the eighth seed in the East.

Jones sprained his left foot during Thursday’s game in Sacramento. His absence means Kevin Huerter should remain in the starting lineup, as there would be no need to move Huerter to the bench to make room for Josh Giddey. Red Velvet has been productive enough to merit being rostered in deep leagues when allowed to play starters’ minutes in Chicago.

Jones was seen in a walking boot Saturday and is set to miss a period of time. Josh Giddey, who was dealing with an ankle injury but isn’t listed on the injury report, is set to return to Chicago’s starting lineup in Jones’ absence.

Jones exited a couple minutes early on Thursday due to a left midfoot sprain, but it appears that he may have avoided a long-term injury. Jones may still miss Saturday’s game, but there is a good chance that Josh Giddey replaces him in the starting lineup regardless of his health.

Jones was forced to leave the game with just two minutes left due to what the team is now calling a left midfoot sprain. He had X-rays, but they came back negative. An exact timeline for Jones’ absence is unclear, but it seems likely that he will miss Saturday’s game against the Lakers. Josh Giddey should return to the starting lineup in his place.

A top-50 player in nine-cat formats over the past two weeks, Jones had another quality performance in Chicago’s win over the Jazz. He recorded his first double-double as a Bull, and Jones has scored at least 18 points in three straight appearances. While Lonzo Ball (wrist) is not being shut down for the rest of the season, he is still without a timeline for return. Jones should be rostered in more than 24 percent of Yahoo! leagues, especially with the Bulls playing three more games this week.

Jones has started Chicago’s last six games, filling the void left by the injured Lonzo Ball (wrist). And he’s been solid, providing seventh-round value in nine-cat formats. Based on Bulls coach Billy Donovan’s comments before Saturday’s game, Ball doesn’t sound close to a return. With the Bulls playing four games during Week 20, rostering Jones in deep leagues would be a good idea, given his recent play.

Jones remained in the starting lineup with Lonzo Ball (wrist) sidelined for a sixth-straight game. Jones has started Chicago’s last five and averaged 14 points, 5.6 rebounds, six assists and 1.2 steals per game, which has him ranked in the top-75 in nine-cat leagues during that stretch. With Josh Giddey (ankle) also sidelined, Jones should continue to be Chicago’s top playmaking option in Houston on Saturday to close out the week. The Bulls will play four games next week, which gives Jones some extra streaming appeal.

With Josh Giddey and Lonzo Ball out of the lineup, Jones made his first start as a Chicago Bull. And he did much of what fantasy managers have come to expect, providing solid value in the assists category. The eight rebounds were also good, and Tuesday’s performance was an example of why Jones can be valuable despite not doing much scoring. Of course, the absences had much to do with Jones playing 34 minutes. He’s only worth rostering if Giddey and Ball remain out.

Chicago is playing this game without Lonzo Ball, Kevin Huerter and Josh Giddey, which will allow Jones to get his first start as a Bull. Terry will also remain in the starting lineup, though he only played 19 minutes in that role on Sunday.
