The Hornets announced shortly before Wednesday’s game that Kalkbrenner would be available, only for the rookie center to be ruled out at tipoff. Xavier Tillman picked up backup center minutes in the first quarter, but he’s unlikely to get the run needed to affect fantasy basketball.

Kalkbrenner is a late addition to the Hornets’ injury report, but he is listed as probable to play. If he can’t go, Grant Williams may spend more time at the five as part of smaller lineups when starting center Moussa Diabaté is not on the floor.

Kalkbrenner went to the locker room with an ankle injury, though he was cleared to return later in the game. The 24-year-old center ended up only playing 15 minutes. Kalkbrenner’s value will decrease back to what it had been for most of the new year now that Moussa Diabaté’s suspension is over.

Making his third consecutive start as the Hornets await Moussa Diabaté’s return from a four-game suspension, Kalkbrenner had one of his most productive nights of the season. The rookie center recorded his third double-double of the season and first since November 4, playing 36 minutes. The 13 rebounds were a season-high for Kalkbrenner, who hit double figures in that category for the fourth time. Diabaté will also be suspended for Sunday’s game against the Wizards, so don’t hesitate to add Kalkbrenner if he’s sitting on the waiver wire.

Kalkbrenner continues to start and dominate the center minutes for the Hornets while Moussa Diabaté is suspended. The 24-year-old center had 12 points, four rebounds and four assists in 30 minutes in the loss to the Rockets. Kalkbrenner will still be usable in deeper formats for two more games with Diabaté suspended.

With Moussa Diabaté serving the first game of his four-game suspension, Kalkbrenner returned to the starting unit. While he didn’t make much of an impact on the glass, he was able to immediately contribute blocks while maintaining an efficient field goal percentage. He played 24 minutes and should continue to see a similar role over their next three games after the All-Star break.

Kalkbrenner was the more impactful center for Charlotte early in the year, but recently, Moussa Diabaté has been starting and far more productive. However, that wasn’t the case in this game. Diabaté played 28 minutes to Kalkbrenner’s 18, but he only finished with two points, nine rebounds and two assists, while Kalkbrenner came close to a double-double and made an impact as a shot blocker. Kalkbrenner is a difficult player to use a roster spot on at this time, but it is good to see that he can still be productive in a limited role from time to time.

Due to Monday’s game being a blowout, Kalkbrenner (26 minutes) played more than starter Moussa Diabaté (12 points and five rebounds in 20 minutes). The rookie finished one rebound shy of a double-double, and the overall production was excellent. Kalkbrenner’s fantasy ceiling is lower than it was earlier this season since he’s coming off the bench, but the 7-foot-1 center is still playing consistent rotation minutes.

Kalkbrenner came off the bench in the Hornets’ win over the Magic on Thursday, but the 24-year-old rookie center played 27 minutes compared to starter Moussa Diabate’s 16 minutes. The Hornets’ Twitter account initially had Kalkbrenner in Saturday’s starting lineup, before correctly showing Diabate as the starter. Both centers will likely still play Saturday, but if Charlotte continues to give Kalkbrenner more minutes he could move into the starting lineup eventually.

Kalkbrenner was originally listed as probable with a wrist injury, so it’s no surprise he’s available for Saturday’s game. The 24-year-old rookie center had 10 points and nine rebounds in 27 minutes off the bench in the Hornets’ win over the Magic on Thursday. We don’t expect Kalkbrenner to be limited against the Wizards, though he’ll still share center minutes with Moussa Diabate.

Despite logging 27 minutes in a win over the Magic on Thursday, the rookie center isn’t a lock to take the floor on Saturday against Washington. He had started most of his debut NBA season before settling into a reserve role recently. If he’s able to play, he’ll provide the Hornets with another two-way rim presence as they look to put together back-to-back wins.

Kalkbrenner had no trouble exploiting Denver’s extreme lack of interior defense by shooting 80 percent from the floor in limited minutes off the bench as he continues to work his way back from a left elbow sprain. The 24-year-old rookie center continues to split time with Moussa Diabate, who has been battling lingering hip and hamstring issues, and finished with four points and nine boards in 25 minutes during this one.

Kalkbrenner was back in the rotation after missing ten games with a sprained left elbow. The rookie center was productive in the same areas he’s been all season, putting up a high field-goal percentage while also recording solid rebound and blocked shot numbers. Kalkbrenner played 23 minutes on Saturday, with Moussia Diabaté (10/10/1/0/2) logging 25. The split in the minutes is worth watching moving forward, as both can offer solid fantasy value.

Kalkbrenner was initially listed as probable for this game, so his availability isn’t surprising. He’ll return to the lineup after missing the last 10 games for the Hornets. Moussa Diabaté has been starting in his place, though Kalkbrenner has started most of the season. Still, regardless of who starts, they should split the minutes at center.

After ten consecutive games on the sidelines, Kalkbrenner could be back in the lineup on Saturday. His availability affects Moussa Diabaté the most, as he has been the replacement in the starting lineup. Due to Kalkbrenner’s missed time, Diabaté may get another start on Saturday, but his minutes would decrease. Also, PJ Hall may fall out of the rotation entirely.

Kalkbrenner is set to miss his 10th straight game as he continues to battle an elbow injury. The rookie center is averaging 8.7 points and 6.4 rebounds per game thus far. His absence provides Moussa Diabate a chance to start and produce for the Hornets, who are now 13-24 on the season.

Monday’s game will be the eighth that Kalkbrenner has missed since suffering a sprained left elbow. Who starts at center on Monday depends on the health of Moussa Diabaté (wrist), who is questionable after missing Charlotte’s last two games. If he can play, Diabaté will likely start. If not, PJ Hall would retain the job.

With Mason Plumlee (groin) out until at least February, Charlotte will play this game without a true center. PJ Hall played 19 minutes as a starter on Friday, while Tidjane Salaün played 22 minutes off the bench and was more productive. Both will play significant roles once again.

Wednesday’s game will be the fifth that Kalkbrenner has missed since spraining his left elbow. With Mason Plumlee also out, the Hornets will rely on Moussa Diabaté at the center position. Given Charlotte’s lack of available options, Diabaté is worth streaming in deep leagues.

Kalkbrenner is dealing with a sprained left elbow. The 7-foot-1 center is right-handed, however, so that may factor into whether he can play on Monday. Moussa Diabaté is the likely replacement in the starting lineup if Kalkbrenner cannot play, with Mason Plumlee picking up rotation minutes off the bench.

Against the Knicks on Wednesday, Hornets coach Charles Lee made the switch to bump Kalkbrenner to the bench and start Moussa Diabaté. That only lasted one game and was likely to have a better matchup against Karl-Anthony Towns. Kalkbrenner returned to the starting lineup for this game and played 26 minutes while Diabaté logged 16 minutes. Kalkbrenner should start most of Charlotte’s games for the rest of the season.

Miller’s return will unsurprisingly push Sion James back to the bench. Also, after a one-game swap, Moussa Diabaté will head back to the bench, with Kalkbrenner returning to the starting lineup, though both bigs will continue to split the minutes at center.

The rookie center was upgraded from questionable to available ahead of Friday’s contest against the Raptors. He has started 19 of the 20 games he’s appeared in, but came off the bench in his most recent appearance. He’s averaging 9.0 points and 6.8 rebounds per game so far and should see similar production regardless of whether he comes off the bench or starts.
