Two days after being waived by the Raptors, Lawson has returned to the franchise on a two-way deal. In three NBA seasons, the 6-foot-6 wing has appeared in 83 games, including 26 for the Raptors last season. He’ll likely see most of his playing time with the Raptors’ G League affiliate, which would not impact fantasy basketball.

While Lawson is under contract for the 2025-26 season, it does not become fully guaranteed until January 10. Performances like the one he produced on Sunday may go a long way toward ensuring Lawson hits that guarantee date. He didn’t miss a shot from the field against the Magic and helped spark a defense that featured six players with at least two steals. Given Toronto’s wing depth, Lawson’s chances of achieving fantasy relevance next season are slim. However, there may be streaming opportunities when considering the injury history of some players ahead of him in the pecking order, including Brandon Ingram.

Lawson, who signed a contract with the Raptors earlier in the day on Friday that will keep him with Toronto through the end of the 2025-26 season, played well in his first game since signing the new deal. He recorded his second career double-double, with the first coming a little over a month before this one. Lawson should once again play a significant role in the season finale in San Antonio on Sunday, but he isn’t a player that will carry much value over to next season.

Lawson, who is playing on a two-way contract, has put up 32, 28 and 18 points over his last three games now. The 24-year-old shooting guard isn’t quite playing his way into fantasy lineups just yet, but perhaps the Raptors will consider giving him a standard contract. Lawson continues to flash potential as both a scorer and rebounder.

Lawson, who is still on a two-way contract, has played at least 26 minutes in four straight games. His 32 points are by far his highest mark this season. Of Lawson’s nine makes, seven of them came from behind the three-point line. While the scoring is likely an outlier, the increase in playing time appears that it could stick and that could be his path to fantasy relevancy.

With Gradey Dick and Immanuel Quickley sidelined, Lawson and Shead will join the starting five alongside three stalwart starters. Lawson started Friday but posted a modest 6/3/1/1 line across 25 minutes. Shead will also make his second start of the season after posting 14 points and four dimes in his first stint with the starters. Neither Lawson nor Shead are recommended fantasy streamers.

After coming off the bench in his first seven appearances as a Raptor, Lawson made his first start on Friday with RJ Barrett sidelined. Unfortunately, it did not go well for the two-way contract player. Lawson shot 1-of-9 from beyond the arc and offered minimal value in the other fantasy-relevant categories. With Friday’s game being the first of a back-to-back, he’ll likely have an opportunity to play rotation minutes in Saturday’s matchup with the Wizards. But there’s no need to consider streaming Lawson.

Quickley, Walter and Barnes are the holdovers from the five who started Tuesday’s win over the Magic. Lawson and Robinson will fill in for RJ Barrett and Jakob Poeltl, and they’re worth streaming with the Raptors down to 10 available players.
