With Portland getting healthier in the backcourt, Love’s opportunities aren’t going to be as plentiful as they were earlier this season. The rookie deserves credit for staying ready, as he chipped in with 17 points and eight assists in 27 minutes. Portland’s three-game start to Week 17 includes a back-to-back, so Love should be active for at least one game. However, due to the 50-game limit and Scoot Henderson’s return, Love won’t be much help to those competing in redraft leagues.

After being held to single digits for the first time since before Christmas on Sunday, Love was able to get back on track in this game. Still on a two-way deal, Love has been impressive as a scorer. He’s averaging 15.8 points per game in January, which is third among rookies. His fantasy impact is really just points and three-pointers, which gives him some value, but his impact is limited.

Given how well Love has played, it feels inevitable that he’ll eventually be upgraded to a standard contract. The rookie guard had another excellent night on Saturday, and he’s scored at least 17 points in five consecutive games. And a spot start could be in Love’s future, as the Trail Blazers visit Sacramento on Sunday. Jrue Holiday (9/3/4 with one three-pointer) played 20 minutes, but he isn’t far removed from an extended absence with a strained calf. If he sits, Love will likely start.

Love entered this game having scored in double figures in 11 straight games, which led to the first start of his career. He extended that streak to 12 games, though it didn’t come efficiently, and he was benched in favor of Jrue Holiday to open the second half. Love may return to playing a reserve role in their next game, but he should still play a decent role off the bench as a scorer and is worth stashing in dynasty formats.

Love continues to produce like a player intent on securing his NBA future. Jrue Holiday’s return on Sunday did not bounce the rookie from the rotation, due partly to the absences of Jerami Grant and Kris Murray despite not sharing a position with those two. Love, who’s on a two-way deal, has five 20-point games this season. Providing 11th-round value in eight-cat formats over the past two weeks, Love may be worth holding onto in dynasty leagues despite the contract status.

The many injuries that the Trail Blazers have dealt with on the perimeter opened the door for Love, and the undrafted rookie out of Arizona has taken advantage. He’s now reached double figures in six straight games, providing top-100 per-game value in eight- and nine-cat formats. Rostered in seven percent of Yahoo! leagues, Love is worth a look in deeper formats while guys like Jrue Holiday and Scoot Henderson are out. As a two-way contract player, he’s limited to 50 games, and the rookie has played 27. We’ll see if Love can do enough to earn a standard deal before hitting the 50-game mark.

As a player on a two-way contract, Love can only be active for 50 NBA games. Monday was the 25th for the rookie out of Arizona, and there may come a point soon when Portland has to consider giving him a standard deal. Active for the Trail Blazers’ last 22 games, Love has scored in double figures in four straight. He finished two points shy of his season-high on Monday while matching his previous high with six three-pointers. Love still doesn’t offer much overall fantasy value, so there’s no need to add him. But he may be on his way to earning added job security before this season concludes.

Love’s role with Portland has bene inconsistent, but the undrafted guard has had some big scoring nights. This was his sixth game scoring in double figures this year, and he also got it done on the defensive end in this one by blocking the first three shots of his career. It’s a fun success story for the two-way guard that had a decorated college career, but he isn’t worth rostering outside of dynasty leagues.

Love gave the Trail Blazers good minutes off the bench, recording his second 20-point game of the season. He took advantage of Kris Murray’s absence, and Wednesday’s performance could be another step towards showing franchise decision-makers that he’s worthy of a standard contract. While Love shouldn’t be rostered in redraft leagues, managers competing in dynasty formats should consider him as the Trail Blazers await the return of Jrue Holiday.

Love is still on a two-way contract for Portland, but he has been a source of offense off the bench in recent weeks. He has scored in double figures in four of his last seven appearances, though it hasn’t come efficiently in recent games. Love has done enough to be worth keeping an eye on in dynasty leagues, but he has a ways to go before he can be considered a standard league option.

Those big moments that Love came up big in as a collegian at North Carolina and Arizona may have helped him on Friday. The rookie guard had the best night of his NBA career, which included him hitting multiple three-pointers in crunch time. Love’s stat line only lacked a blocked shot, and he may become a factor in deep leagues due to the absences of Jrue Holiday and Scoot Henderson. They’ll be out multiple weeks, with Holiday closer to a return based on the timelines provided by the Trail Blazers on Friday.

Due to the Trail Blazers being without multiple guards, Love logged a season-high 31 minutes on Tuesday. And the rookie played relatively well, shooting 50 percent from the field and notching personal highs in points, rebounds and three-pointers. Love’s fantasy potential moving forward depends on the health of Jrue Holiday, who has missed the last two games with a sore calf. Love’s season-long fantasy value has been nonexistent, but there will be a need for him in the rotation if Holiday misses more time.
