Jordan Poole, Jeremiah Fears, Herb Jones, Trey Murphy and Kevon Looney will start Tuesday’s game against the Hornets.
The Pelicans are without Zion Williamson and Yves Missi, with the former sidelined for at least 7-10 days. Poole and Looney will start, with the latter making his second appearance of the season. While Poole has increased value in fantasy leagues, Looney is not worth the risk, especially with Derik Queen waiting in the wings.

Kevon Looney (knee) has been upgraded to available to play against the Thunder on Sunday.
Looney sprained his knee during the preseason and will be available to suit up for the first time this season against OKC. Yves Missi started the last game for the Pelicans, with Derik Queen filling out most of the backup minutes. Looney will be in the mix for center minutes, though it’s unclear who will start.

Kevon Looney (knee) is questionable for Sunday’s game against the Thunder.
Looney has been out since the preseason with a sprained left knee. While he can provide added depth at the center position once cleared to return, Looney is unlikely to impact fantasy basketball. Yves Missi has been the starter, with Derik Queen getting minutes off the bench and Zion Williamson occasionally playing the five in smaller lineups.

Kevon Looney (knee) is out for Friday’s matchup with the Clippers.
It’s unclear when Looney will make his Pelicans debut, but it won’t be Friday. Until Looney returns, DeAndre Jordan should provide depth at center. Looney’s next chance to take the court will come on Sunday at Oklahoma City.

Kevon Looney (knee) is doubtful for Friday’s game against the Clippers.
Looney has yet to appear in a regular-season game for the Pelicans after injuring his knee during the preseason. While he doesn’t have much impact in fantasy basketball, the Pelicans’ injuries led to DeAndre Jordan signing a one-year deal on October 24.

Kevon Looney (knee) will be re-evaluated in two-to-three weeks.
Looney suffered a sprain in his left knee during a preseason win, but he will likely miss the start of the season. It doesn’t seem like this will be a long-term injury, but more information should be provided after the re-evaluation period. Yves Missi should start at center and play a ton of minutes early on until Looney and Derik Queen (wrist) return to the lineup.

ESPN’s Shams Charania reports F/C Kevon Looney has agreed to a two-year, $16 million deal with the Pelicans.
The 29-year-old Looney is a 10-year NBA veteran who had spent his entire career with the Warriors up to this point. Looney was a key rebounder on three of the Warriors’ NBA Championship teams. Now Looney is headed to the Pelicans, where he’ll provide much needed frontcourt depth alongside Zion Williamson and Yves Messi. Looney likely won’t have much if any fantasy value in 2025-26, though a Williamson injury could make things interesting.
