Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was unavailable for Friday’s game, which led to a spot start for Mitchell. Despite coming off the bench on most nights, the second-year guard has been productive enough to merit being rostered in some 12-team formats, so Friday’s output was unsurprising. Over the past two weeks, Mitchell has offered top-75 per-game value in eight- and nine-cat formats. If SGA remains out for Sunday’s game against the Heat, fantasy managers should not hesitate to stream Mitchell if he’s sitting on the waiver wire.

The Thunder are without Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Chet Holmgren and Isaiah Hartenstein for Friday’s game, to name a few of the absentees. Mitchell and Carlson move into the starting lineup, and while the former should already be rostered in some 12-team leagues, the latter is worth streaming in deeper formats.

Mitchell suffered a shin injury during Sunday’s win over the 76ers, but that won’t keep him out of Monday’s game. Alex Caruso, Cason Wallace and Aaron Wiggins will still play plenty, but Mitchell offers the most fantasy value of the four reserves.

Mitchell was forced out of action early in Sunday’s win over the 76ers, and he’s in danger of sitting out the second leg of Oklahoma City’s back-to-back set. Isaiah Joe, Alex Caruso, Cason Wallace and Aaron Wiggins are all candidates for increased run if Mitchell is forced to sit out.

Mitchell took a beating during the second half of Sunday’s blowout victory, appearing to suffer two separate lower-body injuries before heading back to the locker room during the fourth quarter. The second-year guard played 20 minutes off the bench, finishing with 13 points, one rebound, three assists, two steals and two three-pointers. If Mitchell cannot play in Monday’s game against the Hawks, his minutes will likely be absorbed by Cason Wallace, Aaron Wiggins and Isaiah Joe.

Mitchell has missed Oklahoma City’s last two games, freeing up additional minutes for fellow reserves Aaron Wiggins and Isaiah Joe. Those three may cancel each other out on Sunday, but Mitchell has offered the highest fantasy ceiling to this point in the season.

Mitchell departed Monday’s game during the fourth quarter due to an unspecified issue, but the proverbial hay was in the barn by then. While the absences of Chet Holmgren and Isaiah Hartenstein did not affect the second-year guard much since they play different positions, he was one of the Thunder players who picked up the slack. Mitchell has been a top-100 player in eight-cat formats over the last two weeks, but his value has taken a hit since Jalen Williams’ return on November 28. Mitchell remains a deep-league option with the ability to offer standard-league value on nights when the Thunder are shorthanded.

Mitchell is the lone change to the lineup that began Friday’s win over the Mavericks, replacing Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. He and Wallace have added value as starters, while Jaylin Williams is only worth a look in deep leagues.

An adductor injury has sidelined Luguentz Dort, opening up a spot in the starting lineup. Mitchell, who has provided solid fantasy value whether he starts or comes off the bench, will fill the void. He should already be rostered in 14-team leagues, and some 12-team leagues as well. The other four starters are unchanged.

Mitchell exited early from Friday’s game with a knee contusion, but that didn’t hold him out of this game. In fact, it didn’t do much to limit his production. Aside from Friday’s game, when he exited after just four minutes, Mitchell has scored in double figures in all but one game. It’s early, but Mitchell has a strong case to win Sixth Man of the Year at this point, which is a huge development for a second-round pick in his second season.

Mitchell is not on the injury report after leaving Friday’s win over the Suns with a left knee contusion. With Jalen Williams and Aaron Wiggins in the fold, Mitchell will be relegated to a bench role. While he will play rotation minutes, his fantasy ceiling is considerably lower than it was earlier in the season.

Mitchell suffered a left knee contusion during the first half of Friday’s game, playing just five minutes. His absence will likely result in a few more minutes for Cason Wallace, especially if Oklahoma City doesn’t want to push Jalen Williams too far as he makes his season debut.

Mitchell’s emergence as a reliable scoring and playmaking option off the bench for a loaded Thunder roster is one of the more pleasant surprises of the early stages of the year. The 23-year-old is averaging just a shade over 16 points and nearly 28 minutes through 18 games. His role will be greatly reduced once Jalen Williams (wrist) is ready to make his season debut, but he’s proven that he can provide a spark off the bench when Oklahoma City calls his number.

Mitchell had been starting for OKC, but the return of Luguentz Dort pushed Mitchell back to the bench. That wasn’t a problem for Mitchell, who was able to score in double figures for the 13th time in 14 games. He also played 30:36, which was nearly nine more minutes than Dort played. Clearly, Mitchell is going to continue to play a significant role for the Thunder, though all the injuries have opened the door for him.

Rostered in 40 percent of Yahoo! leagues, Mitchell continues to provide top-50 fantasy value. With Luguentz Dort sidelined by a shoulder injury, the second-year guard should be rostered in 14-team leagues (and some 12-team leagues) until that changes. And Mitchell may be worth holding onto even after Dort and Jalen Williams return from their respective injuries.

Mitchell continues to shine for the Thunder, recording his fourth 20-point game of the season on Sunday. While fantasy managers are right to wonder what will happen once the reigning champions have their complete rotation, that’s a problem for another day. Until Jalen Williams and Luguentz Dort return from their injuries and are playing starter’s minutes, Mitchell needs to be rostered. And he may even be a hold once those two return. He’s been that good thus far.

Mitchell once again filled in for Luguentz Dort and again provided the Thunder with solid production. He didn’t reach the same 20-point mark as he did against the Trail Blazers on Wednesday, but managed to supplement a nice scoring outing on Friday with a season-high 10 assists. The double-double marked the first of the season for the second-year guard, while he compiled four stocks on the defensive end. Mitchell continues to produce in his sophomore season and has turned himself into a roster-worthy player in fantasy leagues.

Rostered in 31 percent of Yahoo! leagues, Mitchell continues to provide top-100 value in nine-cat formats. He filled in for the injured Luguentz Dort on Wednesday, providing efficient scoring and playmaking. The lone disappointment for those who rostered Mitchell was that he didn’t record any defensive stats despite averaging 1.6 steals per game. If Dort’s shoulder injury sidelines him for an extended period, Mitchell will be even more appealing to deep-league managers and some standard-league managers as well.

Wednesday’s game is the second in as many nights for the Thunder, who are without Luguentz Dort and Chet Holmgren. Mitchell and Wiggins, who have provided solid deep-league value this season, will fill the resulting voids in the starting lineup. Both are worth rostering, as is Isaiah Joe, despite coming off the bench.

Initially questionable for Tuesday’s game, Mitchell is available and will remain with the Thunder bench rotation. He’s played well enough to merit being rostered in most 14-team leagues and some 12-team formats. Mitchell is worth rostering as long as the Thunder are without Jalen Williams.

Mitchell is dealing with a bilateral glute contusion, hence his appearance on the initial injury report for Tuesday’s game. Despite coming off the bench, the second-year guard has provided reliable fantasy value as Oklahoma City has played without multiple players, most notably Jalen Williams and Chet Holmgren. If Mitchell cannot play, Isaiah Joe will figure more prominently in the rotation.

Rostered in 32 percent of Yahoo! leagues, Mitchell has been one of the biggest surprises in fantasy basketball thus far. He’s providing fifth-round value in 12-team formats, which is excellent production for a player barely on anyone’s radar during the preseason. The Thunder being without Jalen Williams and Isaiah Joe, with the latter making his season debut on Thursday, opened the door for Mitchell. And he’s made the most of his opportunities.

As evidenced by his nonexistent Yahoo! ADP, Mitchell wasn’t on anyone’s fantasy radar during the preseason. Well, through five games, he’s ranked just outside the top-50 in nine-cat formats, providing consistent value off the bench. Mitchell has reached double figures in all five games, scoring at least 14 points in each. He’s rostered in 30 percent of Yahoo! leagues, a sign that many managers have not hesitated to join the bandwagon. And it’s worth holding onto him as long as Jalen Williams (wrist) and Isaiah Joe (knee) remain sidelined.

Mitchell was a difference-maker for Oklahoma City in this one as he came off the bench to knock down seven of his 10 shots from inside the three-point line. The 23-year-old guard is averaging just under 19 points per-game this season as he continues to take advantage of his opportunity with Jalen Williams still out while recovering from offseason wrist surgery.

Even with Cason Wallace back, Mitchell refused to be slowed down on offense. Mitchell has gotten off to a fantastic start to the season and has averaged 18.7 points, 4.0 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.7 three-pointers per game. The Thunder are still without Jalen Williams (wrist), Alex Caruso (concussion) and Nikola Topic (groin), which has opened the door for Mitchell to play more minutes. However, it will be difficult for coach Mark Daigneault to bench him when everyone is healthy.

What a start to the season Mitchell has had. The 2024 second-round pick has been able to carve out a big role for the reigning champs and has delivered two straight big performances off the bench. Mitchell is currently rostered in 13 percent of Yahoo! leagues and seems worthy of a short-term stream. When Jalen Williams, Cason Wallace and Alex Caruso are back, there may not be enough minutes for Mitchell to maintain this level of production despite how well he has started the season.

Although Mitchell was limited to 36 games last season due to a foot injury, he showed flashes of being able to contribute consistently when he was healthy. The second-year guard had a good night off the bench in Tuesday’s season opener, scoring 16 of Oklahoma City’s 36 bench points. With Jalen Williams (wrist), Isaiah Joe (knee) and Nikola Topić (groin) currently sidelined, there is a slight opening for Mitchell within the Thunder rotation. However, it’s important to remember he only played 15 minutes Tuesday night despite those absences. He’s worth adding to watchlists, but that’s about it right now.

Mitchell suffered a lower-body injury in the loss, potentially rolling his ankle. It’s unclear if the injury contributed to his limited playing time, but he was excellent when on the court. Mitchell is too far down OKC’s depth chart to be a weekly contributor in redraft leagues, but he’s a fine stash in dynasty leagues.

Mitchell continues to play like a player that is too good to be playing in Summer League. They’re undefeated in Las Vegas, so they’ll have a chance to compete for the championship, which may be the only reason for Mitchell to continue to play at this point.

Mitchell was able to earn rotation minutes as a rookie before a toe injury in January sidelined him for over three months. For that reason, the time taking on a prominent role for Oklahoma City’s summer league team is invaluable as Mitchell heads into his second season. And with the Thunder signing him to a three-year deal in late June, it’s clear the franchise believes in the 2024 second-round pick. Now, Mitchell must clean up the turnovers after committing seven on Saturday. But it’s fair to wonder if he’s shown the Thunder enough in Las Vegas to be shut down for the rest of the event.
