Toohey, who agreed to a two-way contract just before the start of training camp, will not be available for Tuesday’s season opener. His status does not impact fantasy basketball, especially with all forwards other than Moses Moody on track to be available against the Lakers.

After getting blown out by Portland in their first game in Las Vegas, Toohey and the Warriors bounced back on Sunday. The second-round pick was solid, leading the Warriors’ starters in scoring and nearly filling the stat sheet. Toohey has yet to sign a contract, and with the Warriors still having work to do in free agency, he may have to wait a bit longer. Gabe Madsen was the true standout on Sunday, as he came off the bench to contribute 22 points and six three-pointers.

Toohey missed the Warriors’ first two Summer League games, so this was the first time he suited up for them since they selected him with the 52nd pick in the draft last month. He didn’t shine in his first game for them, but it was good to see him out on the floor. He’ll get more opportunities to play in Las Vegas.

The 6’8, 223 pound Toohey played for the Sydney Kings last season where he won the NBL Next Generation award behind averages of 10.6 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.4 steals and 0.8 blocks across 23 minutes per game. His 45/31/73 shooting splits offer signs of encouragement and a hope that he can develop a more consistent scoring repertoire. He’s not elite in any one skill, but he’s solid as a scorer, rebounder, facilitator and defender. It’s unclear if he’ll be able to carve out a role in Golden State, but he’ll be a decent depth piece.
