McCollum led Atlanta in scoring, though he did most of his work before the break. 25 of his 29 points came before halftime, which helped the Hawks take a 61-48 lead. They broke the game open in the third, which limited McCollum’s minutes for the rest of the game. This was his third-highest scoring game since he was traded to Atlanta, and it was enough to help them clinch a playoff spot. Now, they’ll need to win the regular season finale against the Heat to clinch the fifth seed in the East. Regardless, McCollum has been a strong addition, and he’ll be a pivotal piece for the Hawks in the postseason.

McCollum nearly helped Atlanta make an insane comeback in the final seconds. They trailed by four with five seconds left, and McCollum knocked down a triple to make it a one-point game. Jalen Brunson hit two free throws, and then McCollum banked in a shot from half court, except it was still on his fingertips. Atlanta lost, but McCollum still posted a strong line, which included four stocks. He has had unexpected success as the replacement for Trae Young, which has helped the Hawks be one of the best teams in the league since the All-Star break.

After totaling 23 points on 10-of-20 shooting in games against the Celtics and Magic, McCollum may have been thrilled to see the lottery-bound Nets. The veteran guard shot 66.7 percent from the field on Friday, and he was also responsible for seven assists. For those whose fantasy leagues run through Week 24, the Hawks play four games, starting with the Knicks on Monday.

McCollum has now scored at least 20 points in five of his last seven games. Against the Kings, the veteran guard provided solid value in rebounds and assists, along with points and percentages. The lone negative for McCollum managers is Atlanta’s Week 23 schedule. In addition to being limited to three games, the Hawks are done for the week on Friday. Managers locked in a playoff battle should hold onto a transaction or two for the end of Week 23 and move on from McCollum then.

McCollum wasn’t able to match his 27-point effort from Wednesday’s win, but he was able to score at least 20 points for the fourth time in his last six games. This was only the Hawks’ third loss since the All-Star break, and McCollum has filled in well with this team, which has led to him having some productive outings for fantasy managers. He’ll look to keep it going against the Kings on Saturday.

McCollum has now had at least 23 points in four of his last seven games. The 34-year-old shooting guard has provided seventh-round per game value over the last two weeks. McCollum takes on more of a scoring role with Jalen Johnson back and gets two more chances to put up points with the Hawks playing four games this week.

McCollum took on more of a playmaking role in this one with Jalen Johnson (shoulder) sidelined. The 34-year-old shooting guard had 15 points and nine assists in the blowout 146-107 win. McCollum was a team-high +31 in 22 minutes. He would’ve been able to have an even better fantasy game if the game was closer and he played more minutes.

Since the All-Star break, McCollum has provided ninth-round value in eight-cat formats. His production has been good enough to merit rostering in 12-team formats, and there’s a chance CJ becomes more valuable in 10-team formats during Week 21. The Hawks play four games, and an extended absence for Jalen Johnson (shoulder) would change the equation for McCollum and the other healthy starters.

After going off for 30 points in a March 14 win over the Bucks, McCollum crashed back to earth in Monday’s win over the Magic. The good news for fantasy managers is that the veteran guard did not take long to turn things around, as he scored 24 points on good percentages against the Mavericks. Add in the assists, and many category league managers will be reasonably pleased with McCollum’s showing on Wednesday.

McCollum caught fire from deep in Saturday’s 122-99 victory, shooting 7-of-10 from beyond the arc. This was his second 30-point effort since joining the Hawks, the first being a 38-point showing in a February 9 loss to the Timberwolves. Since moving into the starting lineup in the Hawks’ third game out of the All-Star break, McCollum has averaged 17.8 points and 2.1 three-pointers per game. His field-goal percentage hasn’t been the best, but managers needing points and three-pointers can benefit from rostering the veteran guard.

McCollum has reached double figures in four straight and ten of his last 11 appearances, having moved into the Hawks’ starting lineup six games ago. As a starter, the veteran guard has averaged 17.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.7 three-pointers in just over 28 minutes per game. The issue for McCollum has been field-goal percentage, as he’s made just 41.3 percent of his attempts over the last six games. The Hawks open a three-game Week 20 on Tuesday against the Mavericks.

McCollum has started Atlanta’s last five games, with the team’s win over the Wizards on February 24 being the only one in which he legitimately struggled. Since the lineup change, CJ has been a top-100 player in eight-cat formats. Meanwhile, Zaccharie Risacher (12 points, four rebounds, two steals and four three-pointers) sits outside the top-200 since moving to the bench. McCollum should remain in the starting lineup for the rest of the season.

While McCollum has averaged 17.0 points per game since moving into the Hawks’ starting lineup, he has not shot the ball well. The veteran guard is making just 39.3 percent of his attempts since the lineup change, a big reason why he has only been an 11th-round player over the past week, according to Basketball Monster. That isn’t terrible value, but fantasy managers were likely hoping for more when McCollum was moved into the starting lineup.

McCollum had one of his worst games as a Hawk against the Wizards on Tuesday, but he bounced back in this one. He scored 22 of his 25 points before halftime, which contributed to a second straight blowout win. McCollum has been a consistent source of offense for Atlanta, and he stepped up with Nickeil Alexander-Walker (foot) and Jalen Johnson (hip) sidelined for this ogame.

McCollum moved into the starting lineup Sunday and played 32 minutes. While the Hawks felt the change was necessary after losing to the Heat on Friday, it’s not a major difference for fantasy purposes because McCollum was already playing around 30 minutes per game when coming off the bench. The 34-year-old shooting guard has been excellent in his role lately, providing top-50 overall value over the last two weeks.

The Hawks have been successful in recent weeks with a closing lineup that includes McCollum, with Zaccharie Risacher moving to the bench. In the aftermath of Friday’s blowout loss to the Heat, Atlanta will go with this lineup from the start. McCollum joins Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Dyson Daniels, Jalen Johnson and Onyeka Okongwu in the starting five.

McCollum was one of the reasons the Hawks were able to bounce back from a 16-point first quarter, shooting 4-of-7 from the field in the second. Unfortunately for him and the Hawks, the veteran guard didn’t offer much production after halftime, and Miami eventually pulled away for a 31-point victory. Atlanta’s need for bench scoring has preserved McCollum’s fantasy value, as he has been close to a top-50 player over the past two weeks.

McCollum continues to come off the bench, but ended up being the Hawks’ second leading scorer in the win over the 76ers on Thursday. The 34-year-old shooting guard had 23 points in 30 minutes off the bench. He’s provided 11th-round per game value on the season, according to Basketball Monster. The Hawks have two more games this week, starting with a matchup against the Heat on Friday.

With Jalen Johnson (knee) and Dyson Daniels (ankle) both sidelined, McCollum entered the starting unit and took on more responsibility on the offensive end. He got off to a blazing hot start, scoring 18 points in the first quarter. He was able to keep that going over the final three quarters, though it wasn’t enough to keep Atlanta close. If the Hawks remain shorthanded against the Hornets on Wednesday, McCollum could be in for another big night.

McCollum suddenly has at least 23 points and five three-pointers in three of his last five games. In Tuesday’s win over the Heat, the 34-year-old shooting guard even showed he could produce alongside Jalen Johnson, rather than just in his absence. McCollum is instant offense off the bench, but won’t offer much in the other categories.

For the third time in his last four games, McCollum finished with at least 20 points, though it wasn’t enough to keep the shorthanded Hawks’ winning streak alive. His tenure with the team got off to a shaky start, but he has picked up his production as of late. If they continue to play without Jalen Johnson (calf), McCollum’s shot creation will be vital to keeping this team afloat. He’ll look to keep it going against the Pacers on Saturday.

McCollum hasn’t had trouble offering strong scoring numbers off the bench, but Monday’s final stat line represents arguably his best all-around performance in a Hawks uniform. Fantasy managers who rolled with McCollum were treated to a team-high point total, meaningful counting stats, strong defensive contributions and a flurry of triples.

McCollum hasn’t been great with the Hawks, but he has been a consistent source of points. That held true in this game. McCollum should continue to see plenty of minutes for Atlanta, mostly as a reserve, but his impact in category leagues will remain limited. However, he should be able to contribute more in other categories than he did in this game. Just not much more.

With Zaccharie Risacher (knee) still out, the Hawks decided to go with Corey Kispert (two points, one rebound, one assist and one steal) as the fifth starter instead of McCollum or Vit Krejčí (zero points, two assists). However, this did not prevent McCollum from being the one on the court as the Hawks mounted a fourth-quarter rally. More concerning than the role was McCollum playing 24 minutes. If he can consistently get into the high-20s, the veteran guard will have an easier time preserving most of his fantasy value.

McCollum’s second game in a Hawks uniform played out similarly to his first. The veteran guard reached the 20-point mark for the second straight game but shot inefficiently from beyond the arc along the way, while making decent contributions as a facilitator. McCollum came off the bench, again, but still logged 29 minutes. It appears that his minutes won’t be as high as they were with Washington, but he’ll still have more than enough opportunities to put up strong fantasy production.

McCollum was solid in his first game as a Hawk, but he really showcased what he can be for them in this game. Though the starters struggled, the bench unit had more success, and McCollum was a big part of that. He also played 27 minutes, so his minutes shouldn’t take much of a hit when compared to his role with the Wizards. Most of his value will come from points and triples, but he’ll see plenty of usage despite his role as a reserve.

McCollum was used in a reserve role on Sunday, and that will likely be the case for him moving forward. The role change limits his fantasy ceiling, but it’s much better for fantasy managers than running the risk of watching McCollum get shut down after the trade deadline had he remained in Washington. The 24 minutes were a nice starting point for CJ, and the playing time is worth watching during Atlanta’s three-game Week 13.

While McCollum is likely to come off the bench in Atlanta, he can provide reliable scoring in that role as the team looks to compensate for Trae Young’s exit. Also, with Zaccharie Risacher unavailable, there may be a few more minutes at McCollum’s disposal.

McCollum is on an expiring contract, and while the Hawks may have interest in keeping him around past this season, his main function in this deal was to help the salaries match up. McCollum’s time with the Wizards lasted 35 games, and he was able to show he’s still a talented scorer. He’ll be a reliable veteran for Atlanta, likely as a reserve. He won’t be as impactful for fantasy managers as he was as a Wizard, but he should be able to help offset some of the offense that the Hawks lose by moving on from Trae.

Washington is on the second leg of a back-to-back set after beating the Magic on Tuesday. George is still without a timeline for return, and the Wizards will unsurprisingly give their two veterans a maintenance day. With the trio sidelined, more minutes should be available for Tre Johnson, Bub Carrington, Corey Kispert and Justin Champagnie.
