Mitchell filled in spectacularly for Tyler Herro (ankle) on Wednesday against the Magic. While no one was expecting the 27-year-old point guard to replace Herro, Mitchell was excellent on the offensive end. He had 16 points on 15 attempts and dropped 12 assists. Mitchell is absolutely on the streaming radar while Herro is out after a game like this.

Mitchell missed Miami’s first two preseason games with a strained calf that was not considered serious. “Off Night” was a full participant in Friday’s practice, setting the stage for him to see his first game action of the preseason on Sunday. With Tyler Herro (ankle) expected to miss the start of the regular season, Mitchell may have an opportunity to earn the right to fill the resulting void in the starting lineup. If so, starting would raise his fantasy ceiling in the short term.

Mitchell struggled to find his place during his first few seasons in the NBA, but after being traded to Miami in February, he enjoyed arguably the best stretch of his career. Now, instead of trying to get a better deal in restricted free agency, he’ll just sign back with the Heat. Though they just drafted Kasparas Jakucionis with the No. 20 pick in the draft, Mitchell should get the first crack at the starting point guard job, which is the role that he ended last season in.

Mitchell has played well in this series and has reached double figures in five straight and 11 of his last 12 appearances (regular season and playoffs). Alec Burks, who was replaced in the starting lineup by “Off Night” for Game 2, picked up a second straight DNP-CD on Saturday. With the Heat’s season on the line Monday night, expect to see plenty of Mitchell, given how well he’s played.

Mitchell got his first start of the postseason and didn’t disappoint, coming up with timely scores and defensive plays down the stretch of Game 2. Mitchell’s double-digit finish was his fourth consecutive and 10th over the last 11 games. After starting in place of Alec Burks, who didn’t play a single second on Wednesday, it’s hard to imagine the fourth-year guard being removed from the starting lineup after such an impactful performance. Nevertheless, he figures to play a key role for Miami in Game 3 on Saturday.

Mitchell moves into the starting lineup after playing 34 minutes off the bench in Sunday’s Game 1 defeat. The combination of on-ball defensive ability and being able to set up teammates offensively is why “Off-Night” will start, with Alec Burks heading to the bench. The other four starters are unchanged from Game 1.

While the move from Toronto to Miami did not significantly impact Mitchell’s fantasy prospects during the regular season, his value to his team did increase. “Off-Night” may have finished Game 1 with a minus-19 rating, but the stat line was solid. And it’s fair to question if there will be a point when Mitchell replaces Alec Burks (6/2/2 with two three-pointers in 15 minutes) in the starting lineup for defensive reasons. Add in Mitchell’s ability to set up teammates, and that change may be required to give the Heat a shot at winning this series. Game 2 is on Wednesday.

Mitchell only scored one point in the first half, but he came up big for Miami after the break. Mitchell scored 15 points in the second half, including nine points in overtime. Combined with his defense on Trae Young, Mitchell was instrumental in helping the Heat survive Atlanta’s comeback. He’ll continue to be an important reserve for Miami as they take on Cleveland in the first round of the playoffs. He’ll do his best to slow down Darius Garland and Donovan Mitchell, but he likely won’t contribute as much offense as he did in this game.

Tyler Herro, Alec Burks, Andrew Wiggins and Bam Adebayo are out for Sunday’s regular-season finale, getting an extra day of rest before Wednesday’s play-in tournament matchup with the Bulls. Mitchell, Robinson, Jaquez and Highsmith are the replacements, with the first two being especially valuable to fantasy managers in active leagues seeking value on the waiver wire.

Mitchell was one of two Heat players to notch a season-high point total on Saturday, with Alec Burks being the other. “Off Night” has provided sixth-round value in eight- and nine-cat formats over the past two weeks, a welcome turn of events for a player who has not been much of a fantasy asset during his NBA career. With the Heat playing in one of the two games on Monday’s schedule, Mitchell is worth a dice roll in leagues that will be active.

Mitchell returned after missing Monday’s game with an illness. The 26-year-old played 34 minutes off the bench. He was hardly efficient on offense with 13 points on 10 shots, though he made three three-pointers and dished out seven assists. Mitchell has played at least 30 minutes in nine of his last 10 games, which is a lot of run for a bench player.

Mitchell was a late addition to the injury report on Monday, but he will be back to playing his typical role off the bench for Miami on Wednesday. Terry Rozier picked up extra minutes in place of Mitchell and ended up having one of his best performances in a while. However, unless head coach Erik Spoelstra gives him the chance to build on his last game, Rozier will likely be pushed back out of the rotation.

Mitchell popped up on the injury report as questionable with an illness due to a stomach ailment that came on this afternoon. No word yet on what exactly he had for lunch. Mitchell got off to a hot start with the Heat but was eventually pushed to a bench role. However, he has started to thrive as a reserve. He has scored in double figures in six consecutive games and played at least 30 minutes in all of them, which is a large workload for a player coming off the bench. He also has dished out at least six dimes in each game during Miami’s current three-game win streak. The former top ten pick has found new life with the Heat after never finding his footing in Sacramento or Toronto.

Mitchell returned to the lineup after sitting out Monday’s win over the Wizards with a quad injury, starting alongside Terry Rozier due to Tyler Herro (illness) being unavailable. “Off-Night” didn’t provide much scoring, but the assists should be helpful to category league managers. As for Rozier, he shot 3-of-14 from the field and finished with 12 points, one rebound, two assists, one steal and one three-pointer. If Herro can return for Friday’s game against the Timberwolves, he’ll likely start alongside Mitchell, with Rozier headed to the bench.

The Heat already have multiple contributors injured, and on Wednesday, they will also be without Tyler Herro (illness). Mitchell returns and will fill that vacancy, meaning Rozier gets another start. Both players are worth rostering in this spot due to the Heat’s lack of available alternatives.

Mitchell missed his last game with a quad injury but is confident that he’ll suit back up against the Cavaliers. Terry Rozier will likely take on a lesser role if Tyler Herro isn’t ruled out with an illness.

Mitchell missed Monday’s game with a quad injury, missing the second leg of Miami’s back-to-back. If the 26-year-old point guard is out again, Terry Rozier could see a prominent backcourt role with Andrew Wiggins and Jaime Jaquez Jr. already ruled out.

Added to the Heat injury report Monday afternoon, Mitchell will not play in the second game of the team’s back-to-back. With the many absences, Terry Rozier may be thrust into a prominent role after playing 15 minutes in Sunday’s loss to the Knicks. While the opportunity would be good, Rozier is far from a “sure thing” regarding streaming value.

Mitchell, who has thrived since being traded to Miami, is a late addition to the injury report. If he misses Monday’s game, Tyler Herro will likely take over the team’s playmaking duties. A spot in the starting lineup would also open up, which would likely be filled by Duncan Robinson or Terry Rozier.

Mitchell was sensational on Wednesday, as he was impactful on both ends of the floor. “Off Night” harassing Trae Young into a subpar performance is unsurprising, but that can’t be said for his offensive output. Mitchell matched his season-high with 20 points and his career-high with five three-pointers. Rostered in four percent of Yahoo! leagues, he has been a top 100 player in nine-cat formats over the past two weeks. Even with Wednesday’s performance, Mitchell certainly isn’t a must-add player, but that may change if he can tighten his grip on a place in the starting lineup.
