Mashack recorded the dreaded quadruple-double. The triple-double part was nice, but the 10 turnovers really put a damper on his outing. The rookie has had some strong outings this year, specifically as a source of steals. This type of production only happens in April. Mashack should have a productive career as a rotation defender, but managers shouldn’t expect many more triple-doubles in his future.

Mashack is in the league’s concussion protocol and will miss at least one game. He logged 14 minutes off the bench in Friday’s loss to the Raptors. Dariq Whitehead, Lucas Williamson and Adama Bal should play plenty due to the Grizzlies’ many injuries.

Mashack matched his season-high in points on Saturday, and he did so while shooting 66.7 percent from the field. For category league managers, the overall stat line was somewhat lean. However, this was an impressive performance for the rookie, especially because Saturday’s game was Mashack’s first after a six-game absence. As a two-way contract player, Mashack is not a lock to be available for every game left on Memphis’ schedule, which makes it challenging to trust him in fantasy.

Mashack will miss a sixth straight game, which isn’t a surprise after he was initially listed as doubtful. That may open up a few extra minutes off the bench, but it won’t drastically alter the Grizzlies’ rotation.

Mashack is set to miss his third game in a row with a left ankle sprain. DeJon Jarreau and Tyler Burton could see more minutes with Mashack out, but the Grizzlies play too deep of a rotation for either player to have streaming value.

This was the second time in their last three games that Mashack started for the Grizzlies. The former Tennessee Volunteer was drafted late in the second round this past summer, and after not seeing much time to start his career, he has taken on a larger role over the last five games. The scoring has been inconsistent, but his elite defense in college has transferred over; he has at least two steals in each of his last five games and is averaging 3.2 swipes during this stretch.

The Grizzlies won’t have Cedric Coward for Wednesday’s game, which opens a spot in the starting lineup. Mashack, the 59th overall pick in the 2025 draft, will fill the resulting void. While starting gives him a good opportunity, the rookie is not a must-stream player.
