Murphy and Queen are back after sitting out Friday’s loss to the Trail Blazers. Their returns bump Jordan Poole and Bryce McGowens to the bench. While Poole is worth holding onto in standard fantasy leagues, McGowens is not. The other change is Matković, who replaces Yves Missi at the center position. While he is worth watching to see how he fits next to Williamson and Queen, Matković is not a must-stream player.

While Yves Missi was the choice to replace the injured Derik Queen in the Pelicans’ starting lineup on Friday, all three bigs who logged rotation minutes provided value. Matković was the most productive scorer, and the four defensive contributions didn’t hurt, either. Meanwhile, Missi (5/3/2/1/3 in 21 minutes) also had four defensive contributions while Kevon Looney (4/12/2/1/1 in 24 minutes) hit double figures in rebounds for the second straight game. While none are significant streaming options, Missi has been the best this season when given more minutes.

Matković has not played since November 17th. He’s only averaging 4.9 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 0.8 assists; however, with Herbert Jones (calf) now out, Matković could see a slightly increased role.

This will be Matković’s third consecutive missed game with a strained calf. With Zion Williamson also out Saturday, expect Derik Queen and Yves Missi to handle the front court duties for the Pelicans against the Hawks.

This will now be the second straight game that Matković has missed with a strained calf. The Pelicans’ rotation won’t be overly impacted with Zion Williamson cleared to play.

Matković strained his right calf during Monday’s loss to the Thunder and will miss at least one game. The Pelicans started Derik Queen and Yves Missi together against Oklahoma City and could stick with that tandem on Wednesday if Zion Williamson (hamstring) cannot play.

Matković missed the season opener but could return to the lineup to take on San Antonio. Yves Missi (ankle) is questionable as well, so the status of both players will determine who starts at center, with Derik Queen as the other option.

Matkovic will join Kevon Looney (knee) on the sidelines, which means Yves Missi and Zion Williamson should see a healthy dose of minutes in New Orleans’ frontcourt. Rookie Derik Queen (wrist) is available, and he could see additional opportunities in this one.

With Kevon Looney (knee) already out, the Pelicans will likely be without two centers for Wednesday’s opener. Matković is doubtful due to lower back spasms, leaving New Orleans light on options beyond Yves Missi. Derik Queen (wrist) is off the injury report, so he can play rotation minutes in his first action after missing the entire preseason. There may also be moments when the Pelicans slide Zion Williamson to the five as part of a smaller lineup.

Matkovic started on Sunday, but he only logged 16 minutes. With Yves Missi back, Matkovic returned to a reserve role, but he ended up having more success on Monday. He matched his career-high for points and nearly recorded a double-double while still providing multiple swats and triples. The 23-year-old has shown some upside in recent weeks, and he should continue to play a significant role for the remainder of the season, with some spot starts sprinkled in.

The Pelicans have had to get a little creative with Trey Murphy, Zion Williamson, and Yves Missi out. Matkovic is the newest addition to the starting lineup and is nearly averaging a double-double in the five starts he’s made for the Pelicans this season.

With both Yves Missi (ankle) and Kelly Olynyk (personal) sidelined against Orlando, Matkovic returned to the staring lineup. In what was a disappointing game for the Pelicans as a team, Matkovic was no exception. He had been productive in his previous starts, but the only redeeming quality of his 26 minutes on Thursday were the two swats. However, if both Missi and Olynyk remain out in San Antonio on Saturday, Matkovic should be in line for another start.

With both Yves Missi and Kelly Olynyk sidelined, Matkovic will get the starting nod for the fourth time this season. He averaged 11.7 points, 9.3 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game during his previous starts and is worth streaming against Orlando.

Matkovic recorded a complete stat line and his second career double-double on Sunday. While the rookie forward/center may not be starting in New Orleans, he’s shown the ability to provide value on nights when the Pelicans are without Zion Williamson. Rostered in eight percent of Yahoo! leagues, Matkovic has provided 15th-round value in nine-cat formats since the All-Star break. That certainly doesn’t scream “must-add,” but the rookie is worth a look in extremely deep leagues.

Matkovic finished with the second-highest scoring and rebound totals of his career and his first double-double. The rookie has played an increased role for the banged-up Pels over the last month, and he’s now started three games. The Bosnian big man has averaged 11.7 points, 9.3 rebounds 1.7 blocks and 1.7 triples in those contests.

With Kelly Olynyk sidelined for the first night of this back-to-back, Matkovic will return to the starting lineup. Matkovic has been productive in his two starts this season and should be a solid source of rebounds and blocks in an increased role.
