Monk played 28 minutes off the bench, getting most of the backup point guard minutes in Saturday’s defeat. To his credit, he played well, committing just one turnover and shooting 50 percent from the field. However, it’s fair to wonder if Monk will get point guard minutes at Devin Carter’s expense the rest of the season. The 2024 first-round pick played just six minutes against the Spurs after averaging nearly 27 per over Sacramento’s prior six games. For the sake of the Kings’ rebuild, Carter should play more over the final two months of the season. But that may not be head coach Doug Christie’s opinion.

Having missed the Kings’ final two games before the All-Star break, Monk will be available on Thursday. He should take on his usual role as the second unit’s top offensive option in the short term. However, Monk’s playing time could decrease as the Kings look to develop Devin Carter while also improving their draft lottery odds.

Wednesday’s game will be the third that Monk has missed due to illness. Devin Carter has picked up additional rotation minutes in Monk’s absence while also benefiting from the Kings’ decision to trade Dennis Schröder and Keon Ellis to the Cavaliers.

Monk will miss a second consecutive game due to illness. His absence on Saturday resulted in more minutes for Devin Carter, who logged 27 and scored 18 points. While he isn’t worth streaming in this spot, Carter is a player who could have added fantasy value after the All-Star break.

After scoring 18 points in Friday’s loss to the Clippers, Monk will not play against the Cavaliers. His absence frees up opportunities for some of the Kings’ reserves, especially with Zach LaVine and De’Andre Hunter also out. Nique Clifford, Devin Carter and Daeqwon Plowden should play plenty, with the former likely moving into the starting lineup.

Monk was consistent as a scorer throughout Friday’s contest, but his biggest moments came in the third and fourth quarters, when his three-point shooting put the Kings on a run and at one point gave them a fourth-quarter lead. All of the veteran combo-guard’s scoring came from deep in this game, as he finished with at least six triples for the third time this season. Monk appears to be firmly back in the nightly rotation following a stretch earlier in the season in which he saw DNP’s. He’s capable of big nights, but isn’t someone fantasy managers should get excited about.

Monk is good to go after being listed as questionable for Sunday’s game. With Dennis Schröder and Keon Ellis no longer in the picture, and Russell Westbrook out due to injury, Monk should feature within the Kings’ backcourt rotation. He may put up a nice stat line if the ankle doesn’t flare up.

Monk returned to the Kings’ rotation on Friday after missing two games with a sore right ankle, playing 23 minutes in a loss to the Celtics. Since Sacramento was still without Russell Westbrook, there was room in the rotation for Keon Ellis, who logged 20 minutes. If Monk and Westbrook can’t play on Sunday, Ellis’ fantasy ceiling will be raised.

Monk has missed the Kings’ last two games with a sore right ankle, resulting in Keon Ellis moving into the rotation. However, head coach Doug Christie has usually only had one of the wings in his bench rotation. Russell Westbrook being out may keep Ellis in the rotation, but his playing time will likely decrease with Monk available.

Monk will miss a second straight game following an early exit on Sunday. Keon Ellis saw a bump in minutes with Monk sidelined, though he wasn’t productive in those minutes. Ellis has been a strong source of steals in the past, but based on the last two games, he is a risky streaming option.

Monk did not play in Tuesday’s loss to the Knicks, sitting because of a sore right ankle. Keon Ellis played 22 minutes off the bench against New York, and he’ll likely remain in the rotation if Monk has to miss a second game. However, Zach LaVine (back) is available, which lowers Ellis’ ceiling.

Monk was forced to leave Sunday’s loss to the Pistons early with right ankle soreness, and it will cost him at least one game. Keon Ellis could be the next man up in Sacramento’s rotation to grab Monk’s vacated minutes.

Monk exited Sunday’s loss to the Pistons briefly because of the sore right ankle, but he did play during the second half. If he can’t play on Tuesday, that likely opens the door for Keon Ellis to play more after logging 21 minutes against the Pistons.

Monk was in line for more minutes off the bench Sunday once Zach LaVine (back) was ruled out. The 27-year-old guard played just 22 minutes in the Kings’ blowout loss at the hands of the Pistons, with the lopsided score keeping him from hitting a ceiling scenario. Monk still isn’t worth rostering in most fantasy leagues, but he flashed some of his potential Sunday.

While Monk still hasn’t reached the point where he can be considered in some 12-team leagues, the good news is that he’s getting consistent rotation minutes. He’s played at least 19 minutes in seven of his last eight appearances, a stretch in which Monk’s shot 50.6 percent from the field. Unfortunately, there hasn’t been much defensive production, which limits Monk’s fantasy potential. For whatever reason, Kings head coach Doug Christie has essentially decided that only one of Monk or Keon Ellis (DNP-CD) can be in the rotation on any given night. It has been Monk’s turn recently, but that could change at any time.

With no Keon Ellis (knee) in the fold, Monk’s place within the Kings’ rotation has remained secure. He’s played at least 16 minutes in six consecutive games, a run in which Monk has surpassed 20 points twice. He didn’t offer much value outside of points, three-pointers and field-goal percentage in Sunday’s defeat, but Monk having a consistent role is good news for those who have him rostered.

After picking up three straight DNP-CDs, Monk has logged at least 19 minutes in each of the Kings’ last three games. Sacramento’s won two, and he had arguably his best all-around game of the season on Monday. Monk recorded season-highs in points, assists and three-pointers, doing his damage in 32 minutes off the bench. While Monday’s performance should inspire confidence among fantasy managers, it remains challenging to predict Doug Christie’s rotation on a nightly basis.

For those who may have hoped that Dennis Schröder’s three-game suspension would have cleared room in the Kings’ rotation for Monk and Keon Ellis, Sunday night was a disappointment. Monk had no issue getting minutes, as his 26 led all five reserves who saw time. However, one game removed from being in the starting lineup, Ellis played seven minutes and grabbed one rebound. While Monk’s night may inspire some optimism among deep-league managers heading into the Kings’ four-game Week 13, it’s tough to trust him or Ellis in fantasy basketball.

While Keon Ellis (two points and one blocked shot in 22 minutes) continues to start for the injured Zach LaVine, Monk has worked his way back into the Kings’ rotation. However, the scoring output has not been what some fantasy managers may have hoped. Monk has scored 11 points or fewer in each of his last three appearances, with Sunday being the only time he hit double figures. Fantasy managers who may have considered adding Monk in the aftermath of his return to the rotation should hold off on doing that.

Monk’s usage continues to be all over the map, but he remains an effective scorer when handed 25-plus minutes. The 27-year-old sharpshooter knocked down 3-of-5 from three-point range and drained all seven of his free throw attempts to come up just shy of reaching the 20-point plateau. The Kings have a pair of contests against the Trail Blazers on tap before closing out next week with a home matchup against the Rockets.

Monk has recorded three 20-point games in his last five appearances, with his fantasy ceiling being slightly higher than usual due to Dennis Schröder’s absence due to injury. Over the last four games, Monk has provided top-100 value in eight- and nine-cat formats. He’s still rostered in 22 percent of Yahoo! leagues, which may be a bit low due to the combination of his production and Schröder’s absence. However, the schedule does not work in Monk’s favor, as the Kings play only one more game in Week 7.

Monk was initially probable for Wednesday’s game, so the upgrade in status was expected. With Dennis Schröder still out, Monk will spend more time on the ball, running the show when Russell Westbrook isn’t on the floor. There will also be times when the two are playing alongside each other.

Previous reports indicated that Monk was expected to play on Wednesday despite missing practice on Monday. That will hold true, as he has officially been listed as probable. He’ll continue to play a large reserve role after scoring 21 points in 34 minutes on Sunday.

Shoulder soreness kept Monk out of Monday’s practice, but the Kings’ schedule works in his favor. Sacramento only plays two games during Week 7 and won’t return to action until Wednesday, giving the athletic guard some time to recover. The expectation is that Monk will play against the Rockets.

Monk finished Sunday’s defeat one point shy of his season high, shooting just under 50 percent from the field. Even better for fantasy managers was the veteran guard recording a complete stat line, something he’s done on four other occasions this season. Rostered in 22 percent of Yahoo! leagues, Monk sits just outside the top-150 in nine-cat formats. Given his importance to the Kings’ rotation, he’s worth rostering in 14-team leagues, but 12-team league managers can afford to look elsewhere for production.

Monk scored 16 of his 22 points off the bench in the second half, knocking down seven of 12 shots after the break to help Sacramento mount a late comeback effort. The veteran sharpshooter did a little bit of everything in this one, adding two rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block in a performance that felt like a full Thanksgiving plate. He can be safely ignored in most fantasy leagues but should see a few additional shot opportunities while Domantas Sabonis remains sidelined with left knee soreness.

Monk will be back after a one-game absence against Atlanta on Wednesday. He should return to playing his typical large role off the bench, though the rotation could look a little different. Dennis Schroder will reportedly come off the bench, which will limit Monk’s usage.

Monk missed Sacramento’s last game and could miss a second straight outing. Kings coach Doug Christie discussed switching up the starters, so if Monk plays, that could mean he bumps into the opening group. His absence should lead to more minutes for Keon Ellis, Russell Westbrook and Nique Clifford.

The Kings will be without one of their key scorers off the bench on the second night of a back-to-back, as Monk deals with a sore ankle. The veteran guard is posting career-highs in shooting efficiency over nine games this season and averaging 14.2 points per game. As a result, Keon Ellis and Russell Westbrook should be even more involved off the bench for the Kings on Wednesday.

Monk, who played 28 minutes in Tuesday’s loss to the Nuggets, is dealing with a sore left ankle. If he’s unable to play against the Hawks, more minutes would become available to Keon Ellis, who logged 14 on Tuesday. With Zach LaVine already out, Ellis would be worthy of deep-league streaming consideration if Monk cannot play.
