    Recap

Tre Mann finished Friday’s loss to the Heat with 20 points (7-of-24 FGs, 4-of-4 FTs), nine rebounds, seven assists, one steal and two three-pointers in Friday’s loss to the Heat.

With LaMelo Ball and Collin Sexton unavailable due to injury, Mann made his first start since April 14, 2024. The former first-round pick took advantage of his opportunity, even if the field-goal percentage was low. Mann recorded his first 20-point game of the season and provided good value in the rebound and assist categories. Charlotte won’t play again during Week 3, but Mann would have streaming value if Ball and Sexton miss Monday’s game against the Lakers.

Tre Mann, Sion James, Kon Knueppel, Miles Bridges and Ryan Kalkbrenner will start Friday’s game against the Heat.

Already without LaMelo Ball, the Hornets won’t have Collin Sexton for Friday’s game, either. As a result, Mann will make his first start of the season. He and Kon Knueppel are worth streaming until Ball and Sexton return, while James is an option for deep-league managers needing defensive production.

    Injury

Tre Mann (jaw) is available for Tuesday’s game against the Heat.

Initially questionable for Tuesday’s game, Mann will be available to contribute off the bench. Rookies Sion James and Liam McNeeley might miss out on the opportunities for additional minutes, but it must be noted that the Hornets are without Brandon Miller (shoulder). James is higher in the pecking order due to his defensive ability.

    Injury

Tre Mann (jaw) is questionable to play against the Heat on Tuesday.

Mann has played 18.3 minutes per game off the bench this season, and his absence would likely open the door for rookie Sion James to take on extra minutes. He had 13 points, three triples and three stocks in 20 minutes off the bench in Charlotte’s last game.

    Recap

Tre Mann totaled 18 points (7-of-12 FGs), four rebounds, two assists and four three-pointers in Thursday’s game against the Thunder.

Mann replaced Kon Knueppel in the starting lineup on Thursday and had a strong offensive showing. The fifth-year guard shot efficiently and utilized the three-point shot to leave his mark on offense. In just 23 minutes, he led all Charlotte players in scoring en route to a productive game overall. Mann is looking to have a bounce-back season after playing just 13 games for the Hornets a season ago.

Tre Mann, Brandon Miller, Miles Bridges, LaMelo Ball and Moussa Diabaté will start vs. the Thunder on Thursday.

Mann gets the start over rookie Kon Knueppel on Thursday for the Hornets. The fifth-year guard appeared in 28 games for the Hornets during the 2023-24 season and started all of them after being acquired via trade, but didn’t start in any of his 13 appearances for Charlotte last season. He recorded seven points, five rebounds and five assists in 17 minutes in Charlotte’s preseason opener on Tuesday.

    Injury

Tre Mann (back) was cleared for full basketball activities in mid-April.

Mann’s season ended on November 21 despite Charlotte not communicating an official end to his season. He had a strong start, but he wasn’t healthy until just after the regular season ended. With the Hornets roster currently healthy, he’ll compete with Collin Sexton for backup guard minutes, though he may not play a significant role early on.

    Transaction

ESPN’s Shams Charania reports the Hornets signed Tre Mann to a three-year, $24 million deal.

Acquired from the Thunder at the 2024 trade deadline, Mann was limited to 13 games last season due to a back injury. He did not play again after November 21 but averaged 14.1 points, 2.9 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.8 three-pointers in 24.5 minutes. Mann can provide value off the bench as Charlotte’s backup point guard when healthy. However, he’s likely to be most useful in fantasy leagues next season when LaMelo Ball is unavailable due to injury.
