Martin slid into the starting unit with Egor Dëmin sidelined, but he wasn’t able to make the most of the opportunity. He played 24 minutes in the lopsided loss and simply didn’t make much of an impact in the box score. He wasn’t alone, as this was an ugly game for all the Nets starters. Martin may get another start of both Dëmin and Michael Porter Jr. remain out against the Hornets on Monday, but he won’t be worth streaming.

The Nets are without Egor Dëmin, who is out due to plantar fascia injury management. As a result, Martin will make his third start of the season, and the promotion makes him worth a look in deep redraft leagues. Martin isn’t a must-stream player, but there are opportunities to produce.

Martin has been hot-and-cold over the past couple weeks but put together his most complete effort of the year in this one. He came off the bench to knock down five of nine three-pointers and reach 20 points for the second time this season. He’s averaging 14.7 points across three games over the past week, which makes him an interesting pickup in deeper fantasy formats.

The Nets’ starting lineup receives a slight change on Sunday, with Martin getting the nod over Ben Saraf. The third-year forward has scored in double figures in each of Brooklyn’s last two games and should offer additional three-point shooting in the Nets’ quest for their first victory of the season.

Cleveland added Proctor with the 49th pick in June, and after a strong summer league, his first preseason outing was a productive one. It’s still early, but he’s looking like a steal for the Cavs at this point. It’s unlikely that he plays a significant role as a rookie, but he’s worth stashing in dynasty formats.

Proctor was 4-of-14 from behind the three-point line, but a perfect 9-of-9 on free throws. The 21-year-old shooting guard dropped a game-high 35 points after debuting in Summer League last week. After a productive three-year career at Duke, Proctor will be in the mix for a bench role with the Cavaliers next season.

Proctor made his Cavaliers summer league debut on Thursday and offered the three-point shooting that was a hallmark of his college career at Duke. He shot 3-of-7 from beyond the arc against the Pacers and finished a blocked shot shy of a complete stat line. Proctor’s ability to play on or off the ball may bolster his chances of earning rotation minutes next season, as the Cavaliers lost Sixth Man of the Year finalist Ty Jerome in free agency.

Proctor played three seasons at Duke, though he was overshadowed during the 2024-25 campaign thanks to the arrival of No. 1 pick Cooper Flagg. Proctor started 38 games for the Blue Devils last season, averaging 12.4 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.2 assists across 29.9 minutes. He shot an efficient 40.5 percent from beyond the arc and showed flashes of his strong playmaking abilities. At 6’4, 183 pounds, Proctor has good size for a point guard, and he can be an impactful option off the bench in the NBA. The former Duke standout joins a Cavaliers squad that hopes to remain a contender in the East next season. He was a player Cleveland was reportedly targeting with the 49th pick, especially with Ty Jerome and Sam Merrill both being free agents this summer.

Martin was allowed to start Sunday’s season finale, his 11th of the season, and the former second-round pick played well. He recorded his second 20-point game in five appearances, and the rebounding production was also encouraging. Martin’s contract for next season is non-guaranteed, making it a fool’s errand to project what value he will provide to fantasy managers. And with the Nets having four first-round picks this summer, Martin’s path to a guaranteed contract will remain challenging.

After scoring 20 points as a starter on Saturday, Martin was pushed to the bench for Monday’s game. However, that didn’t stop Martin from contributing in the box score. He has averaged 15.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists and three triples over Brooklyn’s last two games, which have both been wins. Martin, who is rostered in just two percent of Yahoo! leagues, should continue to provide value over the final two weeks of the season, though it may come inconsistently.

Martin started for the injured D’Angelo Russell Saturday and was excellent with 20 points on 11 shots including three made three-pointers. The 26-year-old point guard will have to be more consistent before he’s considered a recommended streaming option when the opportunity arises, though. Russell sat out the second game of a back-to-back, but is likely to return to play soon.

The Nets are without D’Angelo Russell and Ziaire Williams, opening up two spots in the starting lineup. One has been filled by Cameron Johnson, who returns to action after sitting out Thursday’s overtime loss to the Pacers. The other change is Martin, who steps in for Russell. This change also means more time on the ball for Keon Johnson, which raises his fantasy ceiling.

Martin got off to a strong start on Thursday and scored 11 points in the first quarter. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to contribute much after that. Martin has had some excellent scoring nights this season, but they just haven’t happened consistently. He has alternated between less than 10 points and scoring in double figures in each of his last eight games. Martin ranks inside the top-150 in nine-cat leagues, and he has some streaming appeal this weekend with a back-to-back coming up on Saturday and Sunday.

Brooklyn jumped out to a 25-5 lead on Thursday, but it wasn’t enough for them to get the win over Golden State. Martin was a big part of their early success as he scored 13 of his 17 points in the first half. Martin hasn’t been much of a factor in fantasy basketball this season outside of a few big scoring nights. However, he has played a consistent role for the Nets lately, and he may see his minutes increase as the season winds down. Martin is a player to keep an eye on as “silly season” approaches.

On a night when Cameron Johnson, Keon Johnson and Ziaire Williams combined to shoot 11-of-49 from the field, Martin was among the few bright spots for the Nets. The 23 points are the most he’s scored since November 27, when he tallied a career-high 30 against the Suns. While this one performance doesn’t make Martin a player who should be rostered in most fantasy leagues, it does put him on the radar for the “silly season.” The Nets played Saturday without Cam Thomas, which freed up additional scoring opportunities.
