Maxey continues to be one of the most impactful scorers in the fantasy landscape, eclipsing the 20-point mark in 11consecutive contests to open the season. The 25-year-old rising star didn’t exactly light it up in this one, but he came alive in the second half to help spark a late comeback effort. He dished out nine assists to finish just shy of his third double-double performance of the year.

Maxey had a chance to tie Sunday’s game and force overtime, but his three-point attempt at the end of a hectic possession hit the front iron just before time expired. However, fantasy managers will be more focused on Maxey’s production, as the 76ers guard has scored 30 or more points in six games this season. While we’re used to seeing the likes of Nikola Jokić and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander atop the fantasy rankings, Maxey finds himself in similar company going into Week 4. The 76ers play only two games, but that’s an issue that affects the “supporting cast” more than Maxey.

Per usual, Maxey was unstoppable on the offensive end and had a big night in the scoring department. Maxey has scored at least 30 points in five of the 76ers’ nine games this season and has at least 25 points in all of them. Maxey is averaging 33.2 points, 5.0 rebounds, 8.3 assists, 1.1 steals, 1.1 blocks and 4.1 three-pointers per game this season and has certainly been worth his second-round ADP to this point.

Maxey tried to keep this one close, but simply didn’t have enough help from his teammates. Outside of himself and Quinten Grimes, who had 27 points in 32 minutes off the bench, no one else had at least 20 points for the 76ers. Joel Embiid was out along with Paul George and VJ Edgecombe scored just seven points. The 76ers fell to 5-3, but the silver lining is that Maxey’s production didn’t suffer.

While Maxey’s final stat line was impressive, it wasn’t enough to keep the 76ers from blowing a 24-point lead. His production was consistent throughout, but sidekick Joel Embiid tailed off considerably in the second half on both ends of the floor. Maxey has been one of the best players in fantasy basketball since the season began, and that won’t change anytime soon.

Maxey has scored at least 26 points in all six games he’s played this season, averaging 33.7 per game. While some believed the 76ers’ point guard was capable of providing first-round value in standard leagues, Maxey’s been even better than that. He goes into Week 3 providing top-5 value in eight- and nine-cat formats. With Joel Embiid’s playing time being managed and Paul George (knee) still out, the 76ers need Maxey to produce at an elite level. He’s been up to the task.

Maxey had scored at least 39 points in three of the first four games of the season, but attacked the Celtics in a different way on Friday. The 24-year-old point guard took fewer shots than usual, but had 14 assists. He’s had at least nine assists in three of the last four games. Maxey looks like he’s the 76ers’ primary offensive force on any given night.

Maxey has now scored at least 39 points in three of his first four games, and the 76ers are off to a 4-0 start. Asked to take on a larger leadership role, he has answered the call. Maxey attempted a season-high 16 free throws while shooting 44 percent from the field, and this was his first double-double of the season. The fantasy managers willing to use a late-first to draft Maxey have to feel good about that decision, based on how he’s played thus far.

Maxey’s early-season hot streak continued in this one as he put the metaphorical exclamation point on Philadelphia’s impressive win by scoring on three consecutive possessions in the final two minutes of the fourth quarter to eclipse the 40-point plateau for the second time in three games to open the season. He poured in 22 first-half points, knocking down eight of his first 18 shots from the field and was even better down the home stretch to help Philadelphia hold off a late comeback effort by the Magic. He’s clearly surpassed teammate Joel Embiid as the 76ers’ primary offensive catalyst moving forward as he continues to blossom into one of the most prolific scorers in the entire league.

He wasn’t able to match his 40-point performance during the regular season opener, but Maxey was still able to lead the 76ers in scoring to help them move to 2-0 this season. He had success at the line, but he wasn’t quite as efficient shooting the ball, though he was able to make up for it with a bump in assists. With Joel Embiid still limited to around 20 minutes, Maxey will continue to run the show for Philly, which is a great thing for fantasy managers.

Maxey absolutely cooked the Celtics’ defense again and again on his way to dropping 40 points on Wednesday. The 24-year-old point guard tied the 76ers’ record for most points in a season opening game. Maxey combined with VJ Edgecombe for 74 points in the victory. They carried Philadelphia to victory while Joel Embiid had just four points.

Maxey followed up a productive outing against the Magic with another impressive performance on Friday. In his most game action of the preseason, the versatile guard logged 30 minutes and was very aggressive — he neared 20 shot attempts on the evening, and with good efficiency, nearly reached 30 points. Maxey also showcased his ability as a facilitator and, additionally, collected a few stocks on the defensive end. The final stat line could end up looking similar to what Maxey averages this upcoming regular season. He has a chance to tally another impressive campaign.

Maxey and Kelly Oubre Jr. (12/5/2/2/1 with one three-pointer) were the only projected starters available for Friday’s game, and the latter only played the first quarter. That’s all the time Maxey needed to show he’s ready for the regular season, and he may have to do more heavy lifting than usual if Joel Embiid and Paul George aren’t available. As for Oubre, he was solid in his 18 minutes and should provide late-round value in standard leagues, especially with Jared McCain likely to miss the start of the season.

After playing 23 minutes in Thursday’s preseason opener, Maxey logged 18 on Saturday. There isn’t much mystery to what the 76ers point guard can do, but adding VJ Edgecombe (14/6/3 with one three-pointer) could change things for Maxey if they start alongside each other. Edgecombe has the athleticism and handle needed to make things happen within the halfcourt, giving Maxey more opportunities to play off the ball. That’s one way to alleviate any wear and tear concerns as Philadelphia looks to keep its stars as healthy as possible.

Maxey played into the second half of Thursday’s preseason opener, logging just under six minutes in the third quarter. While he was cold from the perimeter, missing all four of his three-point attempts, there’s little to worry about a guard who’s a career 38.1 percent shooter from beyond the arc. Given the injury histories of Joel Embiid and Paul George, with both working their way back from knee injuries, Maxey is the first 76er who should be selected in fantasy drafts, regardless of league type. Injuries limited him to 52 games last season, but he’s played at least 60 in the other four.

Maxey, who has been sidelined since early March, should be ready for the start of next season, but it’s going to be a little while before he returns to playing basketball. Maxey’s season has been over for a while, and the 76ers aren’t going to play in the postseason, so this won’t have any immediate impact. However, it appears that his finger injury is fairly severe, since it’ll end up being close to three months off before he returns to basketball activities.

Maxey has not appeared in a game since March 3. While he was initially dealing with back and finger injuries, the latter is why the 76ers guard will not play again this season. According to Charania, Maxey is still experiencing discomfort in his finger and needs further treatment. What was not reported is the possibility of Maxey undergoing offseason surgery to address the issue. Maxey exceeded his Yahoo! ADP (26) in eight- and nine-cat formats, appearing in 52 games. However, the 76ers rarely had their “big three” on the court together, as Joel Embiid and Paul George were also limited due to injuries. This is the first season in which Maxey has failed to play at least 60 games, so fantasy managers should not be too concerned heading into drafts in the fall.

Maxey is set to miss his 12th game in a row and there’s no end in sight for his string of absences. Oubre is set to miss his seventh game in a row with a knee injury. Justin Edwards should remain in the starting lineup while Ricky Council IV plays a significant role off the bench.

It has been over two weeks since Maxey last played, with Friday’s game being the 10th absence in a row. With Joel Embiid and Paul George done for the year, it wouldn’t be surprising if Maxey’s year was over as well, even if there isn’t an official announcement made. Quentin Grimes and Jared Butler will continue to dominate the backcourt minutes.

Maxey, who has not appeared in a game since March 3, will miss a ninth-straight contest on Wednesday. With Walker missing his fourth-straight due to the league’s concussion protocol, the 76ers will again rely on Quentin Grimes, Jared Butler and Jeff Dowtin Jr. on the perimeter. Grimes should be rostered in standard leagues, while Butler and Dowtin are worth a look in deeper formats.

No surprises here for the tanking Sixers. Philly will be missing all of the starters they opened the season with, including role players like Lonnie Walker IV. Jared Butler, Ricky Council IV and Quentin Grimes will continue to pick up the slack with Maxey and Oubre Jr. sidelined.

Maxey and Walker will remain out for another game, leaving the 76ers shorthanded on the perimeter. The good news for Philadelphia is that Quentin Grimes is available and will play a prominent role in the offense. Jared Butler and Jeff Dowtin will also play extended minutes, with the former remaining in the starting lineup.

Maxey will miss a sixth-straight game when Philadelphia hosts Indiana on Friday. Jared Butler should continue to start at point guard for them. It’s unclear if or when Maxey will return to the lineup, especially with Paul George (groin/knee) potentially done for the year.

This will be a fifth-straight absence for Maxey, and as Philadelphia fights for better lottery odds, it wouldn’t be surprising if Maxey was sidelined for longer. Quentin Grimes should continue to shine, and both Jared Butler and Lonnie Walker IV are candidates to remain in the starting unit, though the status of Kelly Oubre Jr. will be a factor there as well.

Maxey will miss a fourth-straight game, which means more run for the likes of Justin Edwards, Quentin Grimes and Lonnie Walker IV. If Drummond can’t go, the Sixers could turn to Adem Bona to start at center. Bona finished with 14 points and 15 boards across 32 minutes in Sunday’s win over Utah.

Maxey has missed Philadelphia’s last three games with a lower back sprain and has also been dealing with a lingering finger injury. However, a return to the court may not be far away, as the 76ers guard went through an on-court workout before Sunday’s win over the Jazz. Justin Edwards will likely head to the bench if Maxey can play in Atlanta.

Maxey will miss a second-straight game after suffering a lower back sprain on Monday. Jared Butler, who played 25 minutes off the bench in Tuesday’s loss to the Timberwolves, should take on a similar role. However, fantasy managers should target Quentin Grimes before considering Butler or Lonnie Walker IV.

Maxey injured his back and left Monday’s game against the Trail Blazers midway through the third quarter. It’s unclear how long the injury might keep him out for, but the 24-year-old point guard has been ruled out for the second game of the back-to-back. Jeff Dowtin Jr. will pick up additional minutes and is worth considering as a streaming option in Maxey’s absence.

Maxey was forced to leave Monday’s game with just under seven minutes remaining in the third quarter with a back contusion. His exit means more minutes for Jeff Dowtin Jr., who will only have fantasy value moving forward if Maxey misses time. In 23 minutes, Tyrese accounted for five points (2-of-13 FGs), six assists, one steal and one three-pointer.
