The contract includes a team option for the 2026-27 season, according to Stein. The Mavericks created a roster spot when they waived Tyus Jones, who prefers to join a team with playoff ambitions. Nembhard will now occupy a roster spot since he’s on a standard contract. He’s averaged 9.9 points, 6.1 assists and 44.4 percent three-point shooting in 17 starts this year.

Nembhard was back in the starting lineup on Saturday, as the Mavericks were without P.J. Washington and Anthony Davis due to injury. The rookie point guard was productive, with the six assists being the most in a game for him since December 29. Nembhard’s opportunities were also boosted due to Brandon Williams being out, so fantasy managers will want to keep Saturday’s production in perspective. The Mavericks play four games in Week 13, starting with the Nets on Monday.

The Mavericks won’t have P.J. Washington or Anthony Davis for Saturday’s game, which will return Nembhard to the starting lineup. Since Brandon Williams is also out, these changes should raise Nembhard’s fantasy ceiling.

For the second straight game, Nembhard was limited to 17 minutes. However, unlike Thursday, the Mavericks did not have Brandon Williams. Naji Marshall (11/2/1/1 with one three-pointer in 26 minutes) replaced the rookie in the lineup to begin the third quarter, and there lies the risk in rostering Nembhard. Even with the move into the starting lineup, he has not consistently played starters’ minutes.

The rookie bounced back from a zero-point outing against the Nets recently by logging his third double-double of December. Nembhard led the Mavericks in assists and was one of four on the team to score at least 10 points. He did commit four turnovers, but was otherwise very productive on offense in the high-scoring contest. Nembhard has had a nice rookie season to this point and should continue to improve going forward.

How Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd chooses to handle his point guard rotation has been unpredictable for most of this season. However, he may have found his answer in Nembhard. After dishing out ten assists in Monday’s win over the Nuggets, the rookie established a new season-high with 13 on Wednesday, and he only committed one turnover. In four starts, Nembhard has 30 assists and five turnovers. While Brandon Williams (7/2/2 in 14 minutes) and D’Angelo Russell (10/3/2 with two three-pointers in 15 minutes) played rotation minutes off the bench, Nembhard logged 34 as the starter. He’s worth rolling the dice on, especially with the Mavericks having two more games on their Week 7 schedule.

In the third start of his rookie season, Nembhard once again provided the Mavericks with impact on the offensive end. Efficient shooting led the former Gonzaga Bulldog past the 20-point mark and to a new career-high, as he was one of three Mavericks to score at least 24 points on Monday. Additionally, the rookie guard was as impressive as a playmaker — he dished out double-digit assists, leading to the first double-double of his young NBA career. Nembhard is averaging 17.7 points over his three starts and will likely remain in the opening unit for a Mavericks team that has needed quality point guard play.

Nembhard’s first NBA start didn’t result in a victory, but the Mavericks had to be encouraged by what they saw. The rookie seemed to have a good rapport with Anthony Davis and was efficient in his 23 minutes on the floor. With Nembhard starting, Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd called on Brandon Williams (11/2/3/1 with one three-pointer) to take on the backup point guard duties. D’Angelo Russell was the odd man out on Friday, picking up a DNP-CD. However, that could change for Saturday’s game against the Clippers, as Nembhard recently missed five games due to a knee injury.

Nembhard returned from a knee injury on Monday after missing five games, and the rookie did not take long to make a positive impression on Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd. While he did not shoot well in the fourth quarter of Monday’s loss to the Heat, going 1-of-6 from the field, the rookie played 11 minutes and dished out three assists. His ability to set up others may prove handy as Dallas works Anthony Davis into the fold. Nembhard isn’t worth the streaming risk currently, but adding him to watchlists is fine.

Nembhard is available after a five-game absence with a sprained left knee. D’Angelo Russell (illness) is also available, so the rookie guard is unlikely to get the opportunities needed to impact fantasy basketball. However, Nembhard could crack the rotation if Brandon Williams (back) can’t go. Dallas’ starting point guard is a game-time decision.

Nembhard has missed Dallas’s last five games with a sprained left knee. His absence has not affected fantasy basketball, as rotation minutes have not been guaranteed for the rookie guard. Nembhard has appeared in five games this season with a high of 16 minutes.

Less than a week after Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd said he hoped the rookie would only be out for two to three weeks, Nembhard is doubtful for Saturday night. If he’s somehow cleared to play, the point guard is unlikely to get the minutes needed to impact fantasy basketball. Leave Nembhard on the waiver wire.

Nembhard sprained his left knee during a recent workout. Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd said on Monday that he hopes Nembhard is only out for two to three weeks. The rookie’s absence does not impact fantasy basketball, as he is not guaranteed rotation minutes when healthy.

Nembhard has only made five appearances this season, and the only time he surpassed 10 minutes was in the season opener. His absence won’t have an impact on the Mavericks’ rotation.
