Rockets coach Ime Udoka made the switch for this game to move Steven Adams to a reserve role and bump Okogie into the starting unit. It’s unclear if this is a move that will stick or if this was just for one game. Still, it was a strong start for Okogie, who was able to contribute on defense and from beyond the arc. If he remains a starter, he won’t be worth rostering in standard leagues, but he can be streamed in deeper formats for threes and steals.

Rockets coach Ime Udoka is shifting away from the double-big lineup, at least for one game. He could simply be experimenting with a new opening unit against a rebuilding team. Okogie has some upside to provide steals as a starter, but he isn’t a consistent contributor on offense.

With the Rockets resting most of their key players in their expected regular-season rotation, Okogie started and had the ultimate “green light” in Atlanta. The former Georgia Tech standout put up excellent numbers on Thursday, but fantasy managers should know this is not the norm. Okogie will be called upon to provide solid defense off the bench, and there may be a few opportunities to knock down shots during the regular season. However, Thursday’s performance is not enough to make him a draftable player in most fantasy leagues.

The Rockets effectively treated Tuesday’s win over the Pelicans as a dress rehearsal for the regular season, so many of the team’s stars will not play on Thursday. Many fantasy managers will have an eye on Reed Sheppard, who is not guaranteed to be a starter when the regular season begins. Matchups may dictate his place within the Rockets’ rotation, especially with Amen Thompson being a capable playmaker and Houston having excellent depth in the frontcourt. Holiday may have the best odds of landing consistent rotation minutes among Thursday’s other starters, but he is not a must-have in fantasy leagues.

Okogie was waived by the Hornets last week. The 26-year-old shooting guard has averaged just 6.3 points per game over the course of his eight-year career, but offers substantially more on the defensive end. Okogie ranked behind only Dyson Daniels and Alex Caruso in steals per 100 possessions last season (min. 600 minutes played). Okogie continues to add to the depth the Rockets have built up this offseason.

Okogie finished his year on a high note and matched Jusuf Nurkic for the team’s high in points. He provided Charlotte with some much-needed energy down the home stretch but it’s hard to see him being part of the big picture moving forward.

Okogie finished his year on a high note and matched Jusuf Nurkic for the team’s high in points. He provided Charlotte with some much-needed energy down the home stretch. The 26-year-old is under contract for a reasonable $7.75 million in 2025-26 and should be a reasonable end-of-rotation player next year.

Okogie and Williams will replace DaQuan Jeffries and Jusuf Nurkic for Sunday’s game. It’s unclear how much Okogie will play, but Williams should carry his usual starter workload.

The Hornets are without Josh Green and Mark Williams for Sunday’s game, opening up two spots in the starting lineup. Okogie and Nurkic fill the resulting voids, and both players have deep-league streaming value in these roles.

Okogie did not play in Friday’s loss to the Raptors, freeing up additional minutes for fellow reserve Tidjane Salaun. Salaun is questionable with an ankle injury, so there’s no guarantee he’ll be available if Okogie remains out.

Okogie is available to appear in a game for the first time since January 31. While the veteran wing should play rotation minutes in this matchup, he is unlikely to provide enough value to impact fantasy basketball. Managers can afford to leave Okogie on the waiver wire.

Okogie has been out of the Hornets’ lineup since January 31 after suffering a strained left hamstring. His return to action won’t significantly impact fantasy basketball, but Okogie should play rotation minutes off the bench once cleared.

Okogie last played on January 31, but it sounds like he’s nearing a return with the parent club. Even if he’s back on the court before the end of the season, Okogie won’t see enough run to be impactful for fantasy hoops managers.

Due to a strained left hamstring, Okogie has not played since January 31. While Monday’s announcement from the Hornets is a sign of progress in his recovery, the updated timeline means he’s unlikely to return to impact the playoffs in fantasy leagues. Tidjane Salaun should be a priority for the Hornets for the remainder of the season, even if he’s coming off the bench.

Sidelined since January 31 with a strained left hamstring, Okogie will not be available Saturday night. With Tidjane Salaun possibly returning from a sprained ankle, Okogie’s continued absence will not significantly impact fantasy basketball.
