Okongwu did not play in Wednesday’s win over the Pelicans, which led to Mouhamed Gueye moving into the starting lineup and playing 31 minutes. Gueye’s playing time will decrease significantly, especially with Kristaps Porziņģis back in the fold.

Okongwu is in danger of sitting out against New Orleans after his late addition to the injury report. If he’s forced to sit this one out, Kristaps Porziņģisand Mo Gueye could be in line for more run.

Okongwu had one of his worst game of the season in Toronto on Saturday, but he was able to respond with a much better performance, though the result of the game was the same. As an undersized center, Okongwu hasn’t been a great rebounder this year, so this was only his ninth double-double of the season. This was a strong performance for him, and it has helped that he has remained the starter despite Kristaps Porziņģis being back in the lineup. As long as that continues, Okongwu will be an elite fantasy producer.

It’s safe to say that Okongwu likes playing against the Knicks. After hitting six three-pointers in Saturday’s home loss to New York, he hit three more in Friday’s road victory. Over the past two weeks, he has provided third-round per-game value in eight-cat formats. Even as Kristaps Porziņģis (4/8/2/2 in 17 minutes) works his way back from illness, Okongwu’s playing time and opportunities won’t be an issue. That’s excellent news for those who have him rostered.

Okongwu continues to thrive with Kristaps Porziņģis sidelined due to illness and he saw his role on the offensive end of the floor expand even further in this one with the Hawks missing Jalen Johnson, who has emerged as one of the game’s premier all-around players this season, due to illness. The 25-year-old big man has scored at least 23 points in three of his last five games since December 21. He’s delivered fourth-round fantasy value this season, averaging 16.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.0 blocks through 33 games.

Okongwu put on a show on Saturday, finishing one point shy of his season-high while shooting 6-of-10 from beyond the arc. The Hawks’ current starting center finished a blocked shot shy of a complete stat line, and one of the turning points was when Okongwu fouled out with 29.6 seconds remaining. As long as the Hawks remain without Kristaps Porziņģis, it will be Okongwu’s show in the middle. Those who have him rostered can either command a sky-high price via trade or hold onto him. The latter approach may be better, especially with the Hawks playing four games in Week 11.

The good news for Okongwu managers is that the rebounds and assists were there. Unfortunately, the field-goal percentage took a beating with his 5-of-16 night against the Heat. The issue for Okongwu was three-point shooting, as he missed all five of his attempts. Through 11 games in December, he’s shot 15-of-59 from deep, which works out to 25.4 percent. With Okongwu attempting nearly 42 percent of his shots from beyond the arc, a cold spell will significantly impact his overall shooting percentage.

Okongwu knocked down 7-of-9 first-half shot attempts to finish with a game-high 17 points as both teams shot over 55 percent from the floor and combined for a whopping 156 points. He was relatively quiet during the final two quarters as Jalen Johnson and Trae Young spearheaded Atlanta’s comeback effort that fell just short on the game’s final possession. The 25-year-old big man has experienced a significant uptick in minutes recently with Kristaps Porziņģis sidelined due to illness.

While Okongwu finished Sunday’s victory with his sixth double-double of the season and first since November 30, his field-goal percentage left something to be desired. The Hawks’ center shot 1-of-7 inside the arc while making 50 percent of his three-point attempts. That said, the overall stat line more than compensates for the poor shooting. With Kristaps Porziņģis (illness) out for at least two weeks, now is the time for fantasy managers to go all-in on Okongwu. Atlanta plays three games in the final four days of Week 9, starting on Thursday.

Okongwu took advantage of Washington’s injury-depleted frontcourt and historically porous defense, and the absence of fellow big Kristaps Porziņģis on the second night of a back-to-back, to knock down 10-of-17 shots and eclipse the 20-point plateau for the eighth time this season. He’s delivered fifth-round value for fantasy managers this season, averaging 16 points, 7.4 rebounds, three assists, 0.9 steals and 1.1 blocks through 24 contests.

Okongwu started once again with Kristaps Porziņģis sidelined for a third straight outing. He was better as a scorer in this one after he shot 5-of-14 on Sunday, but he wasn’t as effective on the glass. The Hawks were dominated on the boards, losing the rebounding battle 60-34. Okongwu has another tough matchup coming up next against Ivica Zubac on the Clippers on Wednesday.

Okongwu remained in the starting lineup with Kristaps Porziņģis sidelined once again. He wasn’t as productive offensively as he has been in previous starts, but he was still able to record a double-double and have success as a playmaker. It wasn’t a spectacular night for Okongwu, but he was able to nearly match his season high for rebounds. As long as Porziņģis is sidelined, Okongwu will continue to shine.

With Kristaps Porziņģis sidelined, Okongwu will unsurprisingly return to the starting lineup. He has been excellent in seven starts this year, averaging 20 points, 6.7 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.4 steals, 1.9 blocks and 2.7 three-pointers per game.

Unsurprisingly, Okonwgu’s return to the bench did not negatively impact his fantasy value. He’s scored at least 20 points in six of his last seven appearances, providing top-15 value in nine-at formats during this stretch. While some fantasy managers may be tempted to sell high, a better course of action may be to hold onto him. Not only should Okongwu’s production be considered, but also the injury history of starter Kristaps Porziņģis.

Available after sitting out Saturday’s win over the Pelicans with left ankle inflammation, Okongwu started for Kristaps Porziņģis and played 34 minutes. While there weren’t any defensive stats to speak of, Okongwu recorded a solid overall stat line and did not experience any setbacks with the ankle. Despite coming off the bench when Porziņģis is available, Double-O is closing in on top-50 value in nine-cat formats while averaging nearly 30 minutes per game. The Hawks play three games in Week 6, starting with the Wizards on Tuesday.

Initially questionable, Okongwu is available after sitting out Saturday’s win over the Pelicans. Kristaps Porziņģis (knee) is out, so Okongwu will move into the starting lineup. He’s already rostered in most fantasy leagues, and he should be picked up if sitting on your league’s waiver wire.

Due to left ankle inflammation, Okongwu did not play in Saturday’s win over the Pelicans. With Kristaps Porziņģis (rest) out, Okongwu will start if he’s able to play. If not, the Hawks will turn to Mouhamed Gueye, who played 27 minutes off the bench on Saturday.

Okongwu is out with left ankle inflammation, leaving a sizable hole in the Hawks’ rotation. Kristaps Porziņģis’ status as the starting center isn’t affected by Okongwu’s absence, but there will be minutes available for Mouhamed Gueye. He isn’t a must-stream player, but he is worth a look in extremely deep leagues.

Okongwu is dealing with left ankle inflammation, which may have stemmed from San Antonio’s Luke Kornet falling onto his leg during Thursday’s loss to the Spurs. With Kristaps Porziņģis available, the Hawks may need more minutes from Mouhamed Gueye, who’s had his moments when allowed to play extended minutes.

This was a third consecutive start for Okongwu due to the continued absence of Kristaps Porzingis with a knee sprain. He continues to be an effective scorer, averaging 26.7 points and 5.0 three-pointers per game during this three-game stretch. However, he was rendered ineffective on the glass in this one. Dyson Daniels, Jalen Johnson and Mouhamed Gueye made an impact as rebounders, so the Hawks weren’t dominated on the boards. However, they didn’t lose that battle, and it’s difficult to look elsewhere when the starting center only grabs one rebound. Okongwu’s rebounding isn’t his best attribute, but it typically isn’t this level of weakness.

OO will be good to go despite initially being listed as questionable. With Kristaps Porzingis (knee) out again, OO should remain in the starting lineup. He has been on quite the tear over the Hawks’ last two games and will have an opportunity to keep that going in this one.

Okongwu has started the last two games in place of the injured Kristaps Porziņģis and flourished in that role, most recently scoring 27 points in Sunday’s win over the Suns. However, his status for Tuesday night is in some doubt, with Porziņģis also considered questionable. The Hawks went small when Okongwu wasn’t on the floor on Sunday, with Mouhamed Gueye logging 10 minutes off the bench. He’s only worth streaming if Okongwu and Porziņģis cannot play.

The Hawks were once again without Kristaps Porziņǵis (knee), which meant it was “prime time” for Okongwu. The 6-foot-10 forward/center had another big performance, shooting 66.7 percent from the field and recording a complete stat line. Even when Porziņǵis is available, Okongwu has been consistently productive this season, and that shouldn’t change anytime soon. Atlanta plays four games during Week 5, starting with the Pistons on Tuesday.

With Kristaps Porzingis (rest) sitting out the second night of the Hawks’ back-to-back, Okongwu got the starting nod, as expected. What wasn’t expected was how effective he’d be from deep. He shattered his previous career-high for triples and set a new career-high for points as well. Okongwu has improved as a deep-range shooter throughout his career, but the strides he has taken this year can’t be understated; he’s averaging 1.6 three-pointers per game this year, which is more than double what he averaged last year. OO is developing into a true stretch five, which makes him and the Hawks even more dangerous. He’s at his best in the box score when Porzingis isn’t available, but the two centers have been able to share the floor at times this year as well. Okongwu will continue to be a reliable option in fantasy basketball, regardless of what format you’re playing in. However, he turns into a fantasy superstar when Porzingis is out, which is worth noting since the Hawks have another back-to-back coming up next weekend.

Kristaps Porziņģis getting a rest night on the second leg of a back-to-back, Okongwu will make a return to the starting unit. He has been effective as a reserve, but his ceiling will be raised as a starter.

Okongwu was one of two Hawks players to score at least 20 points in the team’s blowout win over the Kings. In 21 minutes, Okongwu shot efficiently from the floor, and when he wasn’t doing that, he found production at the charity stripe. Nothing else stood out on Wednesday aside from his scoring. Still, his performance off the bench was one of the more noteworthy for Atlanta.

Despite moving to the bench to make room in the starting lineup for Kristaps Porziņģis (14/6/7/2/1 with two three-pointers), Okongwu’s production has increased. Through five games, he’s averaging 15.2 points, 9.2 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 0.6 steals, 1.0 blocks and 1.2 three-pointers, exceeding his 2024-25 averages in points, rebounds and three-pointers. Okongwu has been a top-50 player thus far, which is an excellent development for those who have him rostered.

With Kristaps Porzingis (illness) sidelined, Okongwu got the start at center for Atlanta. He really struggled in the first half, but he was able to get things going after the break and ended up turning in a solid stat line, despite the disappointing rebound total. The Hawks play against on Saturday against the Thunder, and if Porzingis still isn’t healthy, Okongwu will get another start.

Okongwu will get the start in place of Kristaps Porzingis (illness) in the Hawks’ second game of the season. He scored 18 points off the bench in the opener in 30 minutes of action and has familiarity with a few of Friday’s starters. Meanwhile, Alexander-Walker will make his first start as a Hawk and will look to improve on an inefficient 10-point, 2-of-15 shooting performance in his Atlanta debut on Wednesday. He’ll replace the injured Zaccharie Risacher (ankle).

The Hawks are without two expected starters for Thursday’s preseason finale, with Dyson Daniels and Jalen Johnson ruled out. Both players are expected to be a full go when the team opens the regular season on October 22, so fantasy managers need not worry. Alexander-Walker and Okongwu will start; both will figure prominently in the Hawks’ rotation during the regular season. And there may be times when Atlanta starts Okongwu and Porziņģis together, depending on the matchup. Thursday is one of those instances.
