While Yves Missi (7/2/1/2/4 in 16 minutes) received the starting nod on Thursday, Queen and Karlo Matković (9/9/2 with three blocks and one three-pointer) wound up playing more. In Queen’s case, a near double-double was accompanied by five assists in a solid offensive performance for the rookie. However, lapses in attention remain an issue on the defensive end of the floor, which will limit Queen’s playing time until he addresses them.

Queen made good use of his 28 minutes against the Bucks, nearly flirting with a points-rebounds double-double while being disruptive on the defensive end. His five stocks led the Pelicans, and he was also the team’s most productive rebounder on the evening. The rookie center shot very well from the floor in what ended up being his highest-scoring game of February. Queen could build off this momentum Saturday against the Sixers.

Queen finished Wednesday’s defeat with a modest stat line, but he did play 31 minutes. Given where the Pelicans are in the standings going into the All-Star break, it would be unsurprising if the rookie played even more once the team returns to play. Rostered in 51 percent of Yahoo! leagues, Queen goes into the All-Star break having been a seventh-round player in eight-cat formats over the past two weeks.

After making no more than two three-pointers in any game this season, Queen got hot on Friday. The rookie made all four of his attempts, which is a season-high, as part of a solid overall line. Consistency has been an issue recently for Queen, but his role is such that fantasy managers should continue to stick with him. Rostered in 51 percent of Yahoo! leagues, managers in 12-team formats seeking silly season potential should strongly consider adding Queen if he’s on the waiver wire.

Queen’s production has come inconsistently, and most of January was rough for him. However, he has been able to provide some reminders that he can be a fantasy superstar when he gets the chance. He still has a lot of growing to do as a player, but his game translates well for category leagues. He typically shines when he gets to play at least 30 minutes, like he did in this game, though he has to earn those minutes. He hasn’t been force-fed minutes, though that could change as we get closer to the end of the season.

Queen had been quieter over the past few games for New Orleans, but he was able to have a strong performance in this one. He approached triple-double territory and had his first 20-point game since December. Queen has oozed upside as a rookie and will continue to pour in the counting stats, though it may come inconsistently. He’ll look to stay hot in Philadelphia on Saturday to wrap up this week.

While fellow rookie Jeremiah Fears (two points, three rebounds, two assists and one block) has hit a rough patch recently, shooting 40.2 percent from the field over the past two weeks, Queen’s production has been consistent. During these two weeks, the rookie center has been close to a top-50 player in eight-cat formats. Fears was limited to ten minutes, with Queen sharing the frontcourt with Yves Missi (10/7/4/1/2) to begin the second half. That’s something fantasy managers should watch during the Pelicans’ three-game Week 14.

Queen’s phenomenal rookie campaign continued with his second triple-double performance as he posted double-digit boards for the third straight contest. The 21-year-old big man remains a work in progress but he’s shown flashes of big-time fantasy potential thanks to his all-around skillset.

Queen finished Tuesday’s defeat two assists shy of his second triple-double, pushing his double-double tally up to seven. While the production has tailed off somewhat after a hot start to December, the rookie center is still offering top-100 per-game value in eight-cat formats over the past two weeks. Rostered in 53 percent of Yahoo! leagues, Queen is someone who 10-team league managers should look to add now if he’s on the waiver wire. His usage should be even higher after the trade deadline, especially if the Pelicans can’t make some headway in the race for a play-in spot.

Queen did not play in Friday’s loss to the Trail Blazers, resulting in Yves Missi moving into the starting lineup. Also, Kevon Looney and Karlo Matković each surpassed 20 minutes off the bench. All three will see their minutes decrease with Queen in the fold, and there’s no need to stream any of them in most leagues.

Queen missed Friday’s game against Portland, which was the first absence of the season for him. Yves Missi started in his place, while Kevon Looney and Karlo Matković also logged over 20 minutes off the bench. All three will see a reduction in minutes if Queen returns.

Queen will miss a game for the first time this season. That opens up the starting center spot in New Orleans, which will likely result in Yves Missi and Kevon Looney occupying the minutes. Missi should be the better streaming option, though neither is enticing.

Queen, who moved into the Pelicans’ starting lineup in mid-November and has not left, has been diagnosed with a left quad contusion. If he’s able to play on Friday, there will be more minutes available to Yves Missi and Kevon Looney.

There were certainly questions about how effective Queen would be as a defender in the NBA, but he has actually been impactful on that end as a rookie. He also made an impact in this game on the box score defensively. His five blocks and seven total “stocks” were both the best marks of Queen’s career. He wasn’t able to do as much offensively in this one, but he has shown that he can throughout the season.

Queen has recorded four double-doubles in his last six games, as he continues to offer excellent fantasy value. Zion Williamson’s return to action has not negatively affected the rookie’s fantasy value, due in part to Zion being used in a reserve role. We’ll see what happens once Williamson is inserted back into the lineup, but Queen managers may not have much to worry about. The Pelicans open a four-game Week 11 on Monday against the Knicks.

There weren’t a ton of positive takeaways for the Pelicans in this one as they got absolutely steamrolled by the Cavaliers. However, Queen continues to look extremely impressive in his rookie debut, topping the 20-point threshold for the third time in 10 contests since the start of December. The remarkable part is that 19 of his 21 points came after halftime, as he went 7-of-10 from the field and 2-of-3 from beyond the arc. It may have come in garbage time, but it counts the same for fantasy managers.

The Pelicans have won five straight, and Queen has recorded a double-double in three consecutive games. Much to the delight of those who have him rostered, the rookie’s fantasy value has not been negatively affected by the returns of Zion Williamson and Jordan Poole. The Pelicans are still running a lot of offense through Queen, and he’s been up to the task. Over the last two weeks, he has been a fourth-round player in eight-cat formats.

Queen has been a double-double machine recently, accomplishing the feat three times over his last five games, averaging 17.4 points, 9.0 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 0.6 steals and 1.4 blocks, delivering top-30 overall fantasy value during that two-weeks span. The 21-year-old rookie center is worthy of a roster spot in all fantasy formats as he continues his upward trajectory.

While Queen did not set the fantasy basketball world ablaze as he did in Monday’s loss to the Spurs, the rookie produced another excellent stat line. Shooting 66.7 percent from the field, the rookie center finished a blocked shot and a three-pointer shy of a complete stat line and did not commit a turnover. When Queen is aggressive on offense, the entire lineup benefits, as he has also proven to be adept at making plays for others. Given the skill set that Queen possesses, it would be unsurprising if his fantasy value took off while Zion Williamson is unavailable.

While the fact that the Pelicans paid a high price for the right to draft Queen remains a talking point, on Monday night, fans saw why the front office took that plunge. The rookie center scored a career-high 33 points and recorded his first triple-double, becoming the fifth rookie in the last 30 years to record a 30-point triple-double. The other four were Stephen Curry, Blake Griffin (two times), Luka Dončić and Austin Reaves. Also, Queen is the eighth player to account for at least 33 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists and four blocked shots in a game since the league began recording blocked shots. New Orleans ran a lot of its offense through Queen, and that approach only raises his ceiling, especially with Zion Williamson (adductor) out.

As was the case in Monday’s win over the Bulls, Yves Missi (6/6/3/0/3) played more minutes than Queen. However, the split was closer to even, with Missi logging 29 minutes and Queen 24. The rookie did record nine assists, two shy of his season high, and his ability to facilitate offense should raise Queen’s fantasy ceiling in time. He has provided seventh-round value over two weeks, so losing playing to Missi has not done too much harm to Queen’s value.

The Pelicans came out lifeless on the second night of a back-to-back, starting three rookies for the first time this season with Zion Williamson (hamstring) and Herb Jones (back) sidelined, and quickly fell behind by 10 at halftime. Queen was one of the lone bright spots, eclipsing the 20-point mark for the third straight game. New Orleans has dropped nine straight games and sits at a brutal 2–15 on the season. They’ll open a four-game week on Monday against the Bulls before matchups with the Grizzlies, Warriors and Lakers.

Queen is showing exactly why the Pelicans paid a king’s ransom to jump back into the first round for him, averaging 17 points, 7.8 rebounds, six assists, 1.5 steals and 1.5 blocks over his last four games — delivering fourth-round value for fantasy managers during that stretch. The 20-year-old lottery pick has stepped into a significant role for New Orleans and has topped 20 points in three of his last six outings. He delivered the first double-double of his career in this one, and an unconventional one at that, handing out 11 assists from his frontcourt spot. He’s not going to morph into a fantasy superstar overnight, but the trajectory is unmistakable — his arrow is pointing straight up.

Queen continued to start even with Zion Williamson back in the starting lineup. The 20-year-old center is showing the highs and lows of being a rookie lately as over his last five games he’s had at least 26 points twice and less than 10 points three times. Queen figures to continue to start under interim coach James Borrego, but his play still remains inconsistent.

Williamson is back after an eight-game absence, and he’s part of the Pelicans’ starting lineup. Yves Missi will come off the bench, with Queen remaining in the starting five. That’s good news for fantasy managers who have hoped to see the rookie playing starters’ minutes consistently.

Queen made his first NBA start on Sunday, replacing Kevon Looney (DNP-CD) in the lineup. The rookie may have only committed one turnover, but he struggled with the Warriors’ defenders, most especially Draymond Green. Queen recorded solid rebound, assist and blocked shot numbers, but many fantasy managers were hoping for more scoring. He’ll look to bounce back on Monday when the Thunder visit in what will be another challenging matchup for Queen and the Pelicans.

Fantasy managers rejoice! In one of his first moves as interim head coach, James Borrego has inserted Queen into the starting lineup, with Kevon Looney being bumped to the bench. The rookie has played well recently and will now begin games on the floor instead of on the bench. The other four starters are unchanged.

“Could [Queen] potentially start? Yes.” Borrego said. “Could he come off the bench? Yes. I don’t have those answers right now.” It’s not a guarantee, but the fact it’s being considered is a breath of fresh air. Queen has been excellent off the bench recently and has been playing a much larger role than Kevon Looney, who has been starting at center. Moving into the starting unit may not change Queen’s minutes, but it will allow him to play with a more talented group, which should result in more production.

Yves Missi getting ejected two minutes into his first stint on the floor may have set the stage for Queen’s big night, as Pelicans head coach Willie Green had little choice but to play the rookie significant minutes. Queen was up to the challenge, recording his first 20-point game while providing solid value in the rebound and assist categories as well. Kevon Looney (two rebounds, one assist and one steal) started but only played eight minutes, and Missi wasn’t even around that long. The Pelicans aren’t on track to be a factor in the West this season, which should mean more minutes for Queen. For the sake of fantasy managers, hopefully, his performance on Wednesday was a sign of what’s to come.

Pelicans coach Willie Green is starting to give Queen more minutes, and good things are happening. Over the last three games, he is averaging 12 points, 6.7 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 2.3 steals per game. His shooting has been inefficient, and he turns the ball over, but there is a lot to like from Queen early on in his career. It is going to be difficult to keep him in a reserve role if he keeps playing this well.
