Absent from Orlando’s pregame injury report, it was announced during the first quarter that he’s dealing with a sore left ankle. The rookie is coming off his best game as a pro, having tallied 20 points in Tuesday’s loss to the Wizards. Jett Howard and Tyus Jones may pick up a few additional minutes if Richardson can’t go.

Richardson and the other Magic reserves were the reason why Orlando pulled to within two points with just over five minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. Due to their effort, Magic head coach Jamahl Mosley stuck with the reserves for the entire fourth quarter, which likely factored into their running out of steam late. But it was earned. In Richardson’s case, the rookie recorded his first 20-point game. And as the Magic await the returns of Jalen Suggs and Franz Wagner, he’ll continue to have opportunities to contribute off the bench.
