After being inactive for two games, Rupert was back in the rotation for this game. He came off the bench at first, but he ended up starting the second half. His shot was inefficient, but he was able to contribute across the board in the box score. The former second-round pick signed a two-way deal with Memphis in February and is still only 21 years old. He still holds enough upside for dynasty managers to consider him as a stash, but it is unlikely this production carries over into next season.

The silly season tends to produce stat lines that make little sense to fantasy managers. That’s precisely what happened in Milwaukee on Sunday, as Rupert had the game of his NBA career. Not only did he record his first triple-double, but he became the first Grizzlies player to record a 30-point triple-double with at least four steals. While Rupert’s line is a cause for celebration among those rostering him, others may use it as evidence that fantasy seasons should not run through Week 23.

The Grizzlies have two new starters for Friday’s game, as Cam Spencer and Olivier-Maxence Prosper are out. They’ve been replaced in the lineup by Rupert and Hendricks, with the latter offering a higher upside for fantasy managers.

The Grizzlies won’t have Taylor Hendricks for Saturday’s game, which opens a spot in the starting lineup. Rupert will fill the void. While his playing time should be plentiful, Rupert is not worth the risk in most fantasy leagues.

The Grizzlies have two new starters for Monday’s game. Jerome is back after a one-game absence, and Rupert has also moved into the starting lineup. While Walter Clayton Jr. is available to come off the bench, Javon Small is out with a sore lower back.

Wells and Prosper are the only holdovers in the Grizzlies’ starting lineup. Due to a host of absences, Small and Rupert will start, while Jackson is back in the lineup after coming off the bench in Tuesday’s loss to the 76ers. GG has replaced Taylor Hendricks, who will come off the bench.

Having played well enough while on a 10-day contract to earn a two-way deal, Rupert has added security for the final month of the 2025-26 season. Nights like Monday will go a long way toward him getting more than a two-way deal in the future. The Grizzlies’ wing played 36 minutes off the bench due to the team’s many absences, recording the first 20-point game of his career. As a two-way player, Rupert isn’t guaranteed to be available every night because of the 50-game limit. However, he’ll be worth a look on nights when he’s active, and the Grizzlies are as shorthanded as they were in Brooklyn.

The Grizzlies are without Ty Jerome and Scotty Pippen Jr. for Wednesday’s game, as it’s the team’s second in as many nights. Small and Rupert move into the starting lineup, with the former being the better streaming option.

Rupert has played well for Memphis on a 10-day contract after Portland waived him last month. Still only 21 years old, Rupert will fill the two-way vacancy that was left by Olivier-Maxence Prosper, who signed a standard deal with Memphis earlier in the day.

Signed to a 10-day contract one week ago, Rupert doesn’t have many more opportunities to show what he can do in Memphis. That’s what makes his performance against the Pacers so important. The former Trail Blazer put up a season-high in points as part of a complete stat line. With Memphis yet to decide on whether to offer Rupert a second 10-day deal, there’s no need to grab him off the waiver wire.

A second-round pick of the Trail Blazers in 2023, Rupert was waived earlier this month due to Portland’s need to free up a standard roster spot for Sidy Cissoko. While the former second-round pick is not a player worth rostering in fantasy leagues, he should have opportunities to prove himself due to Memphis’ roster being depleted due to injuries.

Rupert was fantastic on Friday and followed that up with a dud on Saturday. However, he got back on track on Tuesday after a few days off. The 2023 second-round pick has been playing as well as you’d expect someone entering their third season to play, which is encouraging. He’s a talented player, but the path to minutes in Portland is murky.

The 2023 second-round pick has flashed some upside throughout his first two seasons in the NBA, but he hasn’t seen the floor much. At 21 years old, Rupert still has plenty of time to figure things out, but it is unlikely that his place in the rotation changes next season. He’ll become a restricted free agent next summer.
