Sheppard, who was also questionable ahead of Monday’s loss to the Rockets, has not appeared in a game since December 3. His availability does not affect fantasy basketball, but Sheppard would give the Pacers added perimeter depth if he can play.

Sheppard has been out since December 3 with a strained left calf. While his return would give the Pacers additional depth on the perimeter, the third-year wing is unlikely to put up the numbers needed to affect fantasy basketball.

Sheppard will miss a second straight game after straining his calf during a December 3 loss to the Nuggets. How much time he’ll miss remains unknown. While Jarace Walker has made starts in the past, the Pacers went with Garrison Mathews for Friday’s game against the Bulls. Neither player is a must-roster option, but Mathews can provide three-point production as a starter.

Sheppard suffered a strained left calf during Wednesday’s loss to the Nuggets and will miss some time. How long he’ll be out has not been made public by the Pacers, but his absence does not affect fantasy basketball. However, it may mean that Jarace Walker returns to the starting five after playing 22 minutes off the bench on Wednesday.

Sheppard and Huff will enter the starting unit in place of Andrew Nembhard (quad) and Isaiah Jackson. Sheppard will get the nod instead of T.J. McConnell, though McConnell should still see a bump in minutes. Huff will replace Jackson as the starting center, though both should continue to split the minutes down low.

Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle made just one change to his starting lineup, replacing Jarace Walker with Sheppard. While he does not offer the same offensive ceiling, Sheppard is a solid defender who can be helpful in this matchup. Walker will remain in the rotation, but his inefficient offense has been problematic for fantasy managers.

Sheppard, who started three games earlier this season, was back in the lineup on Wednesday due to Quenton Jackson (hamstring) being out. The third-year guard had his best game of the season, recording a complete stat line that included 18 points and three three-pointers. Rostered in three percent of Yahoo! leagues, Sheppard still isn’t in a place where he has to be on deep-league rosters. But the circumstances make him a player to watch, especially with the Pacers hitting the road for a four-game trip.

Quenton Jackson (hamstring) is out indefinitely after injuring his hamstring during Monday’s loss to the Bucks. Sheppard will make his fourth start of the season, and while he hasn’t been the most productive option, there won’t be a shortage of opportunities due to the Pacers’ many injuries. Look for Siakam to have the ball in his hands quite often as a facilitator for others, while also getting his own looks.

Andrew Nembhard exited after halftime with a shoulder injury, which opened the door for Sheppard to start the second half. Sheppard hasn’t ever been much of a producer in fantasy basketball, but he was able to contribute a well-rounded line in this game. Rick Carlisle said after the game that Nembhard will undergo more tests on his shoulder. If he is forced to miss time, Sheppard should continue to start, though he may not consistently contribute as much as he did in this game.

Sheppard made his first appearance of the preseason on Friday, playing 12 minutes off the bench. With T.J. McConnell (hamstring) set to miss the start of the regular season and Tyrese Haliburton (Achilles) out for the year, there may be additional opportunities for Sheppard to contribute. However, the same can be said for Johnny Furphy, who looked sensational when active and offers a higher ceiling. If fantasy managers are to roll the dice on any of the Pacers’ reserves while McConnell is out, Furphy should be the choice.

Sheppard missed the last five games of the regular season with a left great toe sprain. The 23-year-old point guard should return to a decent bench role for the series against the Bucks. Sheppard was a key reserve for the Pacers against the Bucks in the playoffs last year as he averaged 17.7 minutes per game.

Sheppard miss Indiana’s final five games of the regular season, but he should be available for their first game of the postseason. Sheppard should fill out a large reserve role and provide some floor spacing. He averaged 5.8 points in 17.7 minutes per game during their first round series against the Bucks last year.

Sheppard will miss a fifth straight game to end the regular season. With the Pacers locked into the fourth seed in the East, Johnny Furphy and Quenton Jackson are two players who should see plenty of time against the Cavaliers. The former is coming off the best game of his rookie season in Friday’s loss to the Magic and is worth a dice roll in active deep leagues.

Sheppard has missed four games with a toe injury, and the doubtful tag suggests Sunday’s season finale will be the fifth. Indiana is locked into the four-seed in the East, so there’s no reason for the team to roll the dice with any player who may not be 100 percent. Expect to see Johnny Furphy playing rotation minutes.

Sheppard’s absence does not significantly impact fantasy basketball, especially with Aaron Nesmith and Bennedict Mathurin available. Those two will absorb most of the minutes that would have gone to Sheppard, raising both ceilings.

While Sheppard does not significantly impact fantasy basketball, he does play consistent rotation minutes off the bench. His minutes could be distributed among multiple players, notably starter Aaron Nesmith and fellow reserve Bennedict Mathurin.

With Tyrese Haliburton out of action, Sheppard will join Andrew Nembhard, Pascal Siakam, Aaron Nesmith and Myles Turner in the starting five against Atlanta. The Belmont product has averaged 27.5 minutes across eight starts this season, but he’s done nothing notable with those opportunities. Sheppard isn’t worth streaming here.
