Sexton was one of the few reliable scoring options for the Hornets in this game. He led the team in scoring while coming off the bench, and the other typical scorers for Charlotte struggled. It matched a season high for Sexton and was his first time scoring at least 20 points in a game since November. Sexton is still capable of making a fantasy impact, but he hasn’t gotten the opportunity consistently this year.

Sexton got the starting nod in place of the injured Miles Bridges, and he made the most of his opportunities. The Young Bull shot just 6-of-16 from the floor and 0-of-5 from beyond the arc, but efficiency aside, he offered useful numbers to fantasy managers who decided to stream him. Sexton could stick with the first unit if Bridges is forced to miss additional time. The Hornets play a Friday-Saturday back-to-back set against the Bucks and Bulls.

Sexton saw an immediate uptick in minutes after rookie sensation Kon Knueppel left the contest with a right ankle injury during the second quarter after exploding for 16 early points on 5-of-7 shooting, including 4-of-4 from beyond the arc. The -year-old guard heated up in the second half, He’s been in double-figures in back-to-back games after an extended absence due to a quad issue.

Sexton will return following a seven-game absence, and it’s likely he’ll face a minutes restriction after such a lengthy layoff. KJ Simpson and Tre Mann will likely see their roles reduced with Sexton back in action.

As expected, Sexton will miss a seventh straight contest, which should mean more minutes for Tre Mann and KJ Simpson. LaMelo Ball (wrist) is available, so he should handle a hefty workload, as usual.

Based on the doubtful tag, Sexton is likely to miss a seventh straight game as he recovers from a strained left quad. Tre Mann and KJ Simpson can absorb the minutes that go to Sexton when he’s healthy. And one of them would be in the starting lineup if LaMelo Ball (wrist) can’t play.

This will be a sixth consecutive absence for Sexton, which doesn’t come as a surprise after his initial doubtful tag. KJ Simpson and Tre Mann, who is returning from a seven-game absence, will occupy the backup point guard minutes.

Sexton is expected to miss a sixth straight game, which means that KJ Simpson will serve as the backup point guard. With LaMelo Ball back, that only yield him 13 minutes, so he won’t be worth rostering in any format.

Thursday’s game will be the fifth that Sexton has missed since straining his left quad. At a minimum, KJ Simpson should serve as the backup point guard if LaMelo Ball (ankle) is available. If Ball can’t play, Simpson would remain in the starting lineup.

Sexton will miss a fourth straight game as he continues to deal with a strained left quad. With LaMelo Ball and Tre Mann also out, the Hornets have given rookies Sion James and Kon Knueppel more time on the ball as playmakers, with the latter already in the starting lineup. Knueppel can still be found on some 12-team league waiver wires; do not hesitate to add him if he’s available.

Friday’s game will be the third that Sexton has missed due to a strained left quad. With LaMelo Ball and Tre Mann also out, the Hornets will likely stick with KJ Simpson as the starting point guard. While his fantasy ceiling is limited, Simpson is worth a look in deep leagues due to Charlotte’s lack of healthy alternatives.

Sexton will miss a second straight game after straining his left quad during Wednesday’s loss to the Knicks. KJ Simpson and Liam McNeeley have seen their playing time increase, as the Hornets are also without Tre Mann. Of the two, Simpson will likely play more on Sunday since LaMelo Ball is out.

Sexton suffered a left quad strain during Wednesday’s loss to the Knicks, exiting in the third quarter. Rookie Liam McNeeley’s playing time increased, but that was with Tre Mann out as well. With Mann considered questionable for Friday night, McNeeley’s bump in playing time may not be as pronounced. He’s only worth rostering in dynasty leagues currently.

Sexton injured his left thigh during the third quarter of Wednesday’s game and has since been ruled out for the rest of the night. His minutes were absorbed by rookie Liam McNeeley, who would only be worth a look in redraft leagues if the Hornets were to rule out Sexton for an extended period. Sexton finished with four points, two rebounds, one assist and one steal in nine minutes.

With LaMelo Ball (14/2/5 with one three-pointer) struggling with foul trouble and under a minutes restriction, Sexton gave the Hornets valuable minutes off the bench. Shooting over 50 percent from the field, the veteran guard recorded a complete stat line and helped lead the way as Charlotte outscored Toronto by a 24-17 margin in the fourth quarter to force overtime. Sexton hasn’t been the most reliable fantasy option, but Ball’s injury history makes him worth holding onto in deep leagues.

Sexton has been at his best this season as part of the starting lineup, but he was able to reach 20 points as a reserve for the first time this season in this one. He has been an excellent addition for Charlotte and has been a consistent source of offense when given the opportunity. Still, Sexton’s best games will continue to come when he is able to start, so don’t expect nights like this often.

With LaMelo Ball (ankle) and Brandon Miller (shoulder) unavailable, Sexton was one of the replacements in the Hornets’ starting lineup. The final stat line was solid, but the veteran guard did not offer much value beyond the points and assists. By now, experienced fantasy managers have a clear understanding of what they’re getting when they roster Sexton. The Hornets’ three-game Week 6 includes a back-to-back, so there may be another opportunity for Sexton to start in the near future. Sion James started in place of Miller, and the rookie finished with seven points, six rebounds, three assists and one three-pointer.

With LaMelo Ball (ankle) sidelined for the second leg of Charlotte’s back-to-back, Sexton made a return to the starting lineup. He has been a solid scoring option throughout the year, both as a starter and as a reserve, but Sexton wasn’t able to get much going in this game. He’ll likely return to the bench against Toronto on Monday, but the Hornets do have another back-to-back next week on Saturday and Sunday, which may be another chance for Sexton to start.

Sexton is dealing with a strained right ankle, so he’s on the injury report. However, the probable tag suggests he’ll be available, starting alongside Kon Knueppel and Sion James. Sexton hasn’t been a great option in category leagues, but he’s worth rostering as long as the Hornets are without LaMelo Ball.

In his first game against his former team, Sexton had a productive Sunday evening. The veteran guard didn’t shoot the ball all that well, but still cracked double figures in scoring while also registering double-digit assists along the way. His six turnovers ultimately brought his fantasy production down a bit, but his first double-double of the season was a timely one as the Hornets were able to stop a three-game losing streak.

Sexton came off the bench Thursday night, with rookie Sion James receiving a promotion. The lineup change did not negatively impact Sexton’s output, as he shot the ball well from the field and recorded a solid stat line. Rostered in 35 percent of Yahoo! leagues, he’ll have value for as long as the Hornets are without Brandon Miller (shoulder). As for James, he finished his first start with eight points, four rebounds, one assist, one steal and one three-pointer in 28 minutes. He isn’t a must-add player, but the Hornets end Week 2 with a Saturday/Sunday back-to-back.

Sexton has scored at least 18 points in three straight games, fitting in nicely alongside LaMelo Ball, even if the Hornets’ defense has suffered. He shot the ball well against the Heat, but Sexton committed four turnovers and did not provide any defensive statistics. Even before Brandon Miller’s shoulder injury, he was a starter, but the third-year wing’s absence frees up additional scoring opportunities for Sexton. And with the Hornets playing three games in the final four days of Week 2, adding Sexton (32 percent rostered, Yahoo!) would be a good idea if he’s on the waiver wire.
