There was some confusion about the Bulls’ starting lineup ahead of Wednesday’s game, but ultimately Sexton started. He had a decent night, but not the kind of performance that would change many minds regarding his fantasy value. Jaden Ivey came off the bench against the Celtics, finishing with 10 points, three rebounds, four assists, one block and one three-pointer in 29 minutes. Both players are deep-league options at best moving forward.

Sexton hasn’t needed much time to figure out where he can get his shots in Chicago. After putting up 14 in his Bulls’ debut on Saturday, he attempted 18 on Monday. Chicago not having Josh Giddey or Tre Jones due to injury has freed up additional opportunities for the healthy guards, and Sexton can certainly get his points under those circumstances. He isn’t going to offer much value outside of points, but he may be worth streaming in deep leagues on Wednesday if Giddey and Jones remain out.

Sexton has been solid as a reserve for Charlotte this year, which was enough for him to be the main piece for Chicago to acquire in this deal. He joins a crowded backcourt rotation for the Bulls, so the only path for him to provide value in standard leagues is for Chicago to make more moves, whether that means flipping Sexton or dealing another guard they currently have on the roster.

Having totaled 24 points on 8-of-27 shooting in his three prior appearances, Sexton needed a day like Saturday to snap out of his mini-slump. The Hornets guard was a perfect 5-on-5 from beyond the arc, knocking down two within the first three minutes of the fourth quarter. With Charlotte’s perimeter starters being healthy, Sexton offers limited fantasy value. But he’s capable of providing a spark off the bench, which was the case on Saturday.

Sexton has done most of his damage off the bench this season, and if he’s not in the starting lineup, his availability doesn’t have a major impact in the realm of fantasy hoops.

While Sexton’s availability does affect the Hornets’ bench rotation, it will not have a significant impact on fantasy basketball. Tre Mann may pick up a few more minutes off the bench, but there’s no need to roster him in redraft leagues.

Sexton has been a consistent source of offense off the bench for the Hornets this season, but that hasn’t led to much production for fantasy managers. However, he was incredibly efficient in this game, which led to his highest field goal percentage in a game this year. Sexton hasn’t been worth rostering in standard leagues this season, and that won’t change just because of one solid performance. Unless he’s starting consistently, he should be left on the waiver wire in standard leagues.

Sexton will return from a one-game absence as the Hornets take on the Lakers. The veteran guard will likely come off the bench to bolster Charlotte’s reserve unit. He is averaging 15.2 points and 4.1 assists per game thus far, and will have a chance to log another strong outing on Thursday.

Sexton did not play in Monday’s loss to the Clippers, with most of his minutes being absorbed by starters LaMelo Ball and Brandon Miller. If Sexton can play on Thursday, reserves Tre Mann and Josh Green may take the most significant hits.

Initially questionable, Sexton will miss Monday’s game with a sore left hamstring. Since Miles Bridges is available, the Hornets’ guard’s absence will not significantly affect fantasy basketball. Tre Mann may play additional minutes off the bench, but he should not be rostered in most redraft leagues.

Sexton is dealing with a sore left hamstring. How impactful his absence would be depends on Miles Bridges (knee), who’s probable. If Bridges also can’t play, the Hornets would be down two rotation options. If Bridges plays, Sexton’s absence would be far easier to compensate for.

Sexton was one of the few reliable scoring options for the Hornets in this game. He led the team in scoring while coming off the bench, and the other typical scorers for Charlotte struggled. It matched a season high for Sexton and was his first time scoring at least 20 points in a game since November. Sexton is still capable of making a fantasy impact, but he hasn’t gotten the opportunity consistently this year.

Sexton got the starting nod in place of the injured Miles Bridges, and he made the most of his opportunities. The Young Bull shot just 6-of-16 from the floor and 0-of-5 from beyond the arc, but efficiency aside, he offered useful numbers to fantasy managers who decided to stream him. Sexton could stick with the first unit if Bridges is forced to miss additional time. The Hornets play a Friday-Saturday back-to-back set against the Bucks and Bulls.

Based on the doubtful tag, Sexton is likely to miss a seventh straight game as he recovers from a strained left quad. Tre Mann and KJ Simpson can absorb the minutes that go to Sexton when he’s healthy. And one of them would be in the starting lineup if LaMelo Ball (wrist) can’t play.

Sexton will miss a fourth straight game as he continues to deal with a strained left quad. With LaMelo Ball and Tre Mann also out, the Hornets have given rookies Sion James and Kon Knueppel more time on the ball as playmakers, with the latter already in the starting lineup. Knueppel can still be found on some 12-team league waiver wires; do not hesitate to add him if he’s available.

Sexton suffered a left quad strain during Wednesday’s loss to the Knicks, exiting in the third quarter. Rookie Liam McNeeley’s playing time increased, but that was with Tre Mann out as well. With Mann considered questionable for Friday night, McNeeley’s bump in playing time may not be as pronounced. He’s only worth rostering in dynasty leagues currently.

Sexton injured his left thigh during the third quarter of Wednesday’s game and has since been ruled out for the rest of the night. His minutes were absorbed by rookie Liam McNeeley, who would only be worth a look in redraft leagues if the Hornets were to rule out Sexton for an extended period. Sexton finished with four points, two rebounds, one assist and one steal in nine minutes.

With LaMelo Ball (14/2/5 with one three-pointer) struggling with foul trouble and under a minutes restriction, Sexton gave the Hornets valuable minutes off the bench. Shooting over 50 percent from the field, the veteran guard recorded a complete stat line and helped lead the way as Charlotte outscored Toronto by a 24-17 margin in the fourth quarter to force overtime. Sexton hasn’t been the most reliable fantasy option, but Ball’s injury history makes him worth holding onto in deep leagues.

Sexton has been at his best this season as part of the starting lineup, but he was able to reach 20 points as a reserve for the first time this season in this one. He has been an excellent addition for Charlotte and has been a consistent source of offense when given the opportunity. Still, Sexton’s best games will continue to come when he is able to start, so don’t expect nights like this often.
