Schröder appeared to sprain his left ankle during the second quarter when he stepped on the foot of Minnesota’s Donte DiVincenzo while attempting a layup, with his ankle “rolling” inward instead of out. While Schröder remained in the game, he was a shell of himself from that point onward. And with the Kings beginning Week 4 with a Tuesday/Wednesday back-to-back, this may impact Schröder’s availability. Russell Westbrook would be the next man up, and he finished Sunday’s defeat with six points (2-of-7 FGs), one assist, one steal, one block and two three-pointers in 16 minutes off the bench.

Interestingly, both starting point guards in Monday’s game, Schröder and Denver’s Jamal Murray, shot 0-of-5 from beyond the arc. Dennis shot 7-of-9 from two and dished out nine assists, making for a solid night overall. While he hasn’t been much more than a late-round fantasy option for most of his career, Schröder has far exceeded the expectations thus far. He’s rostered in just 40 percent of Yahoo! leagues, and with the Kings playing three more games during Week 3, Schröder is worth a look in some standard leagues.

Dealing with a sore right hip, Schröder is not a lock to play on Monday. Russell Westbrook is the most likely replacement in the starting lineup if he sits. While the promotion would give Westbrook a shot at achieving streaming relevance, his best days as a fantasy option are likely in the rear-view mirror.

After enduring a two-game stretch in which he scored 13 points on 6-of-18 shooting, Schröder snapped out of his mini-slump on Saturday. In addition to the good shooting, he dished out seven assists and finished a blocked shot shy of a complete stat line. Rostered in 39 percent of Yahoo! leagues, Schröder has been a top-75 player in nine-cat formats, exceeding his ADP of 129.

Having totaled 10 assists and eight turnovers in Sacramento’s first two games, Schröder had a much cleaner performance on Sunday, even if he didn’t shoot the ball well. Two turnovers countered the 12 assists, and the veteran point guard finished with a complete stat line. Schröder had seven games last season in which he dished out at least 10 assists, so nights like Sunday are unlikely to become the norm. Unfortunately, the Kings don’t have a great Week 2 schedule. Not only does Sacramento play three games, but just one occurs between Thursday and Sunday.

Limited to individual work during Monday’s practice with a left ankle injury, Schröder is good to go for Wednesday’s opener. He’ll serve as the Kings’ starting point guard, giving the veteran a shot at achieving fantasy relevance. Schröder performed well to begin last season but took a step back when he was traded from Brooklyn to Golden State. He did bounce back in Detroit to end the season, but that was as Cade Cunningham’s backup.

Schröder injured his left ankle during the third quarter of Sacramento’s preseason finale on Friday. While he did return to the game, the veteran point guard being limited to individual work two days before the season opener is concerning. With Russell Westbrook only being signed over the weekend, expectations should not be too high for him, especially since he did not play during the preseason. Nique Clifford, whose minutes increased after the Kings lost Keegan Murray (thumb), and Keon Ellis will have added importance if Schröder can’t play on Wednesday in Phoenix.

Despite a third-quarter injury scare in which Lakers center Deandre Ayton landed on his foot after attempting to block a shot, Schröder returned to the game and played 28 minutes in the one-point victory. Even with the recent signing of Russell Westbrook, Schröder will be the Kings’ starting point guard when the regular season begins next week. The issue is that he’s rarely been anything more than a late-round option in standard fantasy leagues. Schröder’s status as the starting point guard will get him selected in most fantasy drafts, but managers need to keep their expectations in check.

Schroder made his unofficial Kings debut Wednesday night, playing 24 minutes. While the veteran point guard did tie for the team lead in rebounds, he only recorded one assist. Schroder was a valuable rotation piece for the Pistons to end last season, but that did not translate into reliable fantasy value. Getting to start in Sacramento may raise his ceiling, but that isn’t guaranteed, especially with Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan and Domantas Sabonis needing their touches.

Schröder did not have his best day overall, as the German point guard was responsible for six turnovers. However, he came up huge when his team needed him most, leading Germany to its second EuroBasket title and earning tournament MVP honors. Schröder scored his team’s final six points, including two free throws with eight seconds remaining that gave Germany an 88-83 lead. That’s how the game would end, and Schröder has helped lead Germany on a historic run for the national team. Over the last three FIBA tournaments, Germany has gone 21-2, winning the FIBA World Cup in 2023 and this summer’s EuroBasket.

Germany is one win away from its second men’s EuroBasket title and first since 1993, as Schröder led the way in their 98-86 victory over Finland. The Sacramento Kings guard has scored 20 points or more in five of the eight games played, and Friday’s effort was also his first double-double. Schröder, who entered the semifinals shooting 30.6 percent from beyond the arc, made four of his nine attempts against Finland. Next up for Germany will be either Greece or Türkiye in Sunday’s final.

Schröder struggled with his shot Wednesday afternoon, making just one of nine three-point attempts. However, thanks to his teammates, Germany managed to rally and advance to Friday’s EuroBasket semifinals, where Finland awaits. Five Germans finished the 99-91 victory in double figures, including guards Maodo Lô (11 points, three rebounds and two three-pointers) and Andreas Obst (10/3/1 with three three-pointers). Those two were critical as Germany outscored Slovenia 13-3 to begin the fourth quarter, with the latter scoring eight points in the final frame. Given how well he’s played throughout the tournament, Schröder is undoubtedly capable of bouncing back on Friday.

Schroder is averaging 23.3 points through the first two games of EuroBasket, which has helped Germany start the tournament 3-0. He’ll continue to run the offense as Germany looks to replicate their success from the FIBA World Cup in 2023 during this tournament, with their next game coming against Great Britain on Monday.

Schroder dropped 21 points on Wednesday against Montenegro, and he’s shining for Germany yet again in FIBA action. Expect him to continue operating as Germany’s go-to option on offense throughout Eurobasket 2025.

Schroder always steps up his performance when playing internationally, which helped Germany win the FIBA World Cup in 2023. He’s off to a strong start this summer after he signed a three-year deal with the Kings in July, and he’ll look to carry this success into a starting role with Sacramento this upcoming season.

Schroder proved he could handle a variety of situations last year as he was traded multiple times appearing in games for the Nets, Warriors and Pistons. The 31-year-old point guard parlayed a strong finish through the first round of the NBA playoffs with the Pistons into a three-year deal with the Kings. Schroder figures to run the offense and start at point guard ahead of Malik Monk and Keon Ellis. His fantasy value definitely sees a boost with the move to the Kings, where he’ll play alongside Zach LaVine and Domantas Sabonis.

NBA Insider Marc Stein reported last week the Kings were one of the favorites to sign Schroder. Now it appears they’ve made it happen. The 31-year-old point guard was traded multiple times last season, appearing in games for the Nets, Warriors and Pistons. Schroder has proven he can be a solid player in a variety of situations. The Kings might offer the best one for him and his fantasy value as he could run the offense and start ahead of Malik Monk and Keon Ellis.

Filling the void left by trading away franchise point guard De’Aaron Fox is not an easy task, and Schroder certainly isn’t a long-term solution. However, he is a legitimate lead playmaking option and could run the offense. That would likely result in both Malik Monk and Keon Ellis coming off the bench, barring other moves. Sacramento would be a strong landing spot for Schroder to provide fantasy value, especially as a source of assists.

Schroder’s play on both ends of the floor is one reason why the Pistons have been highly competitive in their first postseason appearance since 2019. After scoring eight points in Game 1, he totaled 38 in Games 2 and 3, making plays on and off the ball. Also, Schroder has done a good job of defending Jalen Brunson when his name has been called, even if the Knicks point guard made some big plays down the stretch on Thursday. Schroder and the Pistons will look to even the series on Sunday when they host Game 4.

Schroder came up big for Detroit in this game. Tim Hardaway Jr. and Malik Beasley combined to shoot 2-of-17 from the floor and 1-of-14 from deep, but the Pistons still walked away with a win because of Schroder. He hit a late three-pointer with the game tied at 94 to give Detroit a lead that they held onto. This came after Schroder scored just eight points in Game 1. He may not score to this level often, but the veteran guard will continue to be an important piece for the Pistons in the postseason.

Schroder continues to start with Cade Cunningham (calf) out of the lineup. Unfortunately for fantasy managers, this hasn’t been the 31-year-old point guard’s very best stretch of play. Schroder was able to have a solid game with 16 points and seven assists, giving him four straight games with at least seven assists. Schroder will keep starting as long as Cunningham is out and he needs to be rostered in all formats until that stops.

Schroder started his third game in a row in the absence of Cade Cunningham (calf) Wednesday. The 31-year-old point guard didn’t have as good of a game this time around as he had just 15 points on 18 shots and seven assists after going for double-doubles in his previous two games. It’s unclear when Cunningham might return, which likely means more starts for Schroder, who is a must-roster player as long as he’s in the starting lineup.

Schroder has a right quad contusion, but the probable tag suggests he’ll be available. With Cade Cunningham doubtful for Sunday’s game, the Pistons will likely stick with a point guard rotation of Schroder and Marcus Sasser.

Schroder made his third straight start, filling in admirably for Cade Cunningham and helping to lead the shorthanded Pistons to a major upset victory. Schroder tallied his second double-double with Detroit and his first as a starter. Cunningham is day-to-day, and Schroder is worth streaming until he returns.

With Cade Cunningham getting ejected from Saturday’s game late in the third quarter, Schroder played 10-plus minutes during the fourth. The veteran point guard finished with his first double-double as a Piston, and Schroder scored double figures in six straight. With his fantasy value entirely dependent upon Cunningham’s availability, there isn’t much to gain from rostering Schroder on most nights.

Schroder had at least 20 points for the first time since joining the Pistons at the trade deadline. The 31-year-old point guard played 28 minutes, his first time playing at least 25 minutes for Detroit. Schroder was dealing with an ankle injury that caused him to miss a game last week, but appeared to be 100 percent Wednesday. There’s plenty of opportunities available with the Pistons for Schroder to have fantasy value as the backup point guard.
