Sochan played 23 minutes in his season debut on Wednesday and 15 minutes against Houston on Friday. He’ll occupy a role off the bench once again, and he should see 15-20 minutes, though that may not be enough time for him to make an impact in the box score.

Sochan has played in the last two games after returning from a wrist injury. The question remains if he’ll play the second game of a back-to-back against the Pelicans on Saturday. If the Spurs rest Sochan, Carter Bryant could return to the rotation.

Sochan is good to go after being listed as questionable on the Spurs’ initial injury report. He played 22 minutes in his first action of the season on Wednesday and may be asked to take on a similar workload.

Due to calf and wrist injuries, Sochan did not make his first appearance of the season until Wednesday. He looked sharp offensively, only missing one shot from the field. More encouraging may be the fact that Sochan played 23 minutes without any issues. Also making their season debuts for the Spurs were Lindy Waters III (six points, one rebound and two three-pointers) and Kelly Olynyk (four points, four rebounds and three assists), but they’re unlikely to impact fantasy basketball in the way that Sochan potentially can.

Sochan, Olynyk and Waters are available to make their first appearances of the 2025-26 season, with the first two offering higher fantasy ceilings. However, all will come off the bench, limiting their impact in fantasy basketball. Sochan and Olynyk are worth watching in the short term, but neither is a “must-add” player.

Sochan has yet to appear in a game this season, but there is a chance that this will change on Wednesday. While his absence does not impact the starting lineup, it does affect the Spurs’ bench rotation. Keldon Johnson has been the most reliable frontcourt reserve, with rookie Carter Bryant also picking up some minutes. Bryant could slip out of the rotation once Sochan is cleared to play.

This will be a second straight absence for Sochan to start the season. Julian Champagnie and Harrison Barnes started at the forward spot in the season opener, and with no changes to the injury report, they should occupy those same roles once again.

After missing EuroBasket with a calf injury, Sochan has a sprained left wrist and will miss Wednesday’s opener. His absence means more opportunities for Julian Champagnie, Keldon Johnson and Carter Bryant, with the former having been a starter during the preseason. Champagnie should hold onto that role, as the Spurs are also without De’Aaron Fox, while Bryant boasts long-term upside, especially in dynasty leagues.

Sochan was gearing up to represent Poland at EuroBasket, beginning on August 27, when he felt pain in his calf. While the injury is not considered serious, the decision has been made to send him back to San Antonio for rehab. The expectation is that Sochan will be healthy when the Spurs begin training camp in late September, so the impact on his fantasy prospects should be minimal at worst. Sochan was a late-round option in fantasy leagues last season, ranking just outside the top-150 in per-game value. Only appearing in 54 games negatively impacted his totals value, as expected.

This will be a third-straight absence for Sochan, which means that Bismack Biyombo should continue to start at center, with Julian Champagnie taking on extra minutes off the bench. Neither player has been great in place of Sochan, though Champagnie has been a slightly better option.

Due to back spasms, Sochan did not play in Tuesday’s loss to the Magic. And with his coach saying he does not believe the third-year forward will travel to Denver, fantasy managers can assume Sochan will not play on Wednesday. Bismack Biyombo (11/5/1/1/2 in 26 minutes) replaced him in the starting lineup, but Julian Champagnie is the superior streaming option, despite coming off the bench.

Sochan is dealing with back spasms, hence the Spurs’ decision to make him inactive for Tuesday’s game. His absence leaves the center responsibilities to Bismack Biyombo and Sandro Mamukelashvili. While the former offers a bit more from a rebounding standpoint, Mamukelashvili possesses a higher offensive ceiling.

While Bismack Biyombo is available for Saturday’s game, he’s been moved to the bench for matchup reasons. A more athletic defender, Sochan will start opposite Kristaps Porzingis, and the lineup change raises his fantasy ceiling. Biyombo can still offer rebounds and blocks as a reserve, but this is not a great matchup.

Sochan has started the last two games for San Antonio as part of a smaller starting lineup, and that has led to two wins for the Spurs. Sochan has scored in double figure in six consecutive games, but his 23 points on Friday were a new season-high for him. Though the Spurs’ playoff hops went down the drain when Victor Wembanyama was ruled out for the rest of the season, they have won four of their last six games and sit just three games out of the postseason picture. Sochan should continue to produce at a high level as long as he is starting.

San Antonio decided to go small on Wednesday, with Sochan replacing Bismack Biyombo (four points and four rebounds in 10 minutes) in the starting lineup. While it did not work to slow Karl-Anthony Towns, who scored 31 points, the Spurs neutralized the other Knicks starters. Sochan has reached double figures in his last five outings, but he’s ranked well outside the top 200 in eight- and nine-cat formats over the past two weeks. However, he’ll have a higher ceiling if interim coach Mitch Johnson sticks with Sochan at the five.

The Spurs have replaced Bismack Biyombo at the center position with Sochan. Smaller, more athletic defenders tend to give Karl-Anthony Towns more trouble, which is likely why Sochan is in the lineup. This change raises Sochan’s fantasy ceiling, but he remains a late-round option at best.

Sochan and Lakers forward Jarred Vanderbilt received their marching orders with 6:27 remaining after getting into an altercation. Sochan responded to a Vanderbilt forearm by hitting him with the ball, and the Lakers forward responded with a shove. Both players were grabbed by their respective teammates but were ejected for their actions. Sochan finished with 15 points, three rebounds, one assist and one three-pointer in 26 minutes.

Sochan missed Monday’s game against the Mavericks with a calf injury, but returned Wednesday after a one-game absence despite initially being listed as questionable. The 21-year-old power forward poured in 18 points including two made 3-pointers. He also grabbed seven rebounds in just 24 minutes. Sochan has emerged as the big man with the most fantasy value on San Antonio in the wake of Victor Wembanyama’s season-ending injury.

Sochan missed the second leg of San Antonio’s back-to-back when they played Dallas on Monday, but there is a chance that he is back for the rematch. Keldon Johnson scored 28 points off the bench with Sochan out but will likely take a production hit if Sochan returns.

No surprise here as Sochan was initially listed as doubtful with a calf injury. Keldon Johnson could see increased minutes and usage with the 21-year-old power forward out. Johnson is a potential streamer for managers looking for points and threes in deeper formats.

The Spurs could be without two key players on Monday. If Castle is sidelined, Julian Champagnie could see an uptick in playing time, and if Sochan sits, Keldon Johnson could earn some additional minutes.

A double-digit scorer in three of his last four games, Sochan has emerged as the only Spurs power forward or center worth rostering with Victor Wembanyama done for the season. Since the All-Star break, he has provided 12th-round value in eight- and nine-cat formats. Bismack Biyombo (two points, four rebounds and two assists) only played 18 minutes despite starting, as the Spurs have been willing to employ smaller lineups due to Sochan’s improved play.

Despite coming off the bench, Sochan remains the best player to add in the aftermath of Victor Wembanyama’s season-ending injury. Saturday’s double-double was his first since February 7, and Sochan replaced Bismack Biyombo (6/3/1/1/1 in 18 minutes) in the starting lineup to begin the third quarter. While he’s ranked just outside the top 150 in nine-cat formats since the All-Star break, Sochan’s production has been superior to any of the centers used to fill the void since the Spurs lost Wembanyama.

Sochan exited Wednesday’s loss to the Rockets during the second quarter after taking a shot to the Head and did not return. However, there was no need to enter the league’s concussion protocol, and he’s available for Saturday’s game. Sandro Mamukelashvili will likely play fewer minutes off the bench, removing any streaming value he may have had.

Sochan’s Wednesday night in Houston ended prematurely, as he was hit in the head during the second quarter and did not return. His exit resulted in more rotation minutes for Sandro Mamukelashvili, who finished with 12 points, four rebounds, three steals and two three-pointers in 20 minutes. Even if Sochan has to miss time, there isn’t much to gain from adding Mamukelashvili, whose production has been inconsistent since the Spurs lost Victor Wembanyama for the rest of the season.
