The Timberwolves have a clean injury report for their first game out of the All-Star break, including Shannon. Due to a strained left foot, he’s been out since Christmas. While Shannon’s return may result in fewer minutes for Jaylen Clark, who already wasn’t playing much, this is unlikely to affect fantasy basketball in the short term.

An MRI revealed a left foot abductor hallucis strain for Shannon. He’ll miss at least the next two weeks, at which point he’ll be re-evaluated. Bones Hyland and Jaylen Clark will continue to see more minutes with Shannon sidelined.

Shannon’s left foot strain sidelined him late in Thursday’s overtime loss to the Nuggets, and he’ll miss at least one complete game. More minutes will be available to Bones Hyland and Jaylen Clark in Shannon’s absence.

Shannon was ruled out a few minutes into the fourth quarter, so he likely wouldn’t have seen the floor for the remainder of the game regardless. If he misses time beyond the end of this game, Bones Hyland and Jaylen Clark should take on a few extra minutes.

Under normal circumstances, Shannon’s availability would have a limited impact on fantasy basketball. However, with Anthony Edwards (illness) still considered questionable, a few more minutes may become available to the second-year wing despite coming off the bench.

Shannon, like Anthony Edwards, was added to the injury report with an illness Monday afternoon. Shannon could be in line for more minutes if he is available and Edwards isn’t, but if Shannon is out, Jaylen Clark and Mike Conley will see a minutes boost.

Shannon Jr. poured in his best performance of the season on Wednesday. He needed only 17 minutes of game action to post a season-high in points and nearly reach the 20-point mark. He made all seven of his shot attempts and all three of his three-pointers along the way, but didn’t contribute much in other areas of the game. Still, Shannon Jr. had a nice outing, one that could potentially lead to more opportunities against the Celtics on Saturday.

Shannon is available after a nine-game absence with a bone bruise in his left fifth metatarsal. He’ll provide depth off the bench, but nothing changes regarding his fantasy potential. There’s no need to roster Shannon in redraft leagues, but he does have long-term value in dynasty leagues.

After missing Minnesota’s last nine games with a left fifth metatarsal bone bruise, Shannon has been cleared to resume full-contact activities, including 5-on-5. There’s obviously no guarantee that he plays on Monday, but potentially having the second-year wing is good news for a team needing additional wing depth.

This will be a fifth straight absence for Shannon, which means there will be a few extra minutes for Mike Conley, Rob Dillingham and Jaylen Clark, though that won’t make much of an impact on fantasy basketball.

Shannon Jr. will sit out a third straight game, and in his absence, Mike Conley, Rob Dillingham and Jaylen Clark should pick up some extra playing time. Minnesota plays a back-to-back set, so Shannon Jr.'s next chance to take the court will come on Monday against the Jazz.

Shannon has missed the last two games for the Timberwolves but has a chance to return to the lineup against Sacramento. Jaylen Clark, Mike Conley and Rob Dillingham have taken on extra minutes with Shannon out and will continue to play a larger role if Shannon remains sidelined.

With Shannon sidelined for another matchup, guys like Jaylen Clark, Mike Conley and Rob Dillingham should absorb his minutes in a committee approach, though none of those players offer much fantasy upside.

Shannon missed Wednesday’s game, which led to Mike Conley, Jaylen Clark and Rob Dillingham filling out the reserve guard minutes. If Shannon is sidelined again, that will continue, but it won’t provide any of the aforementioned guards with enough minutes to be worth streaming.

Shannon popped up on the injury report as questionable Wednesday afternoon and is now out for the matchup with the Knicks. Jaylen Clark and Rob Dillingham could see extra minutes on the wing with Shannon out, though neither are worth adding in fantasy basketball.

Shannon is a late addition to the injury report, and his potential absence would open up extra minutes off the bench on the wing. However, with Anthony Edwards (hamstring) also questionable, Edwards could fill those minutes. Jaylen Clark and Rob Dillingham could also play larger reserve roles.

With Nickeil Alexander-Walker now a member of the Atlanta Hawks, Shannon is one of the young reserves hoping to earn a larger role during the preseason. After a solid outing in Monday’s exhibition opener against the Pacers, Shannon did not miss any of his three-point attempts and was active as a rebounder. Rob Dillingham (10/2/5 with two three-pointers) will also have his opportunities to step up, especially if the Timberwolves look to rest Mike Conley during back-to-backs. However, Shannon is more worthy of a late-round flier in standard leagues.

Nobody has had an answer for Shannon this summer. He’s averaging 22.7 points, six rebounds, five assists and 3.3 three-pointers per game through three appearances ahead of his second year in the league. Of course, he came in as an older rookie, so a player that will turn 25 later this month should be dominating. Still, he has been impressive and should help make up for the loss of Nickeil Alexander-Walker.

Given how well he’s played in Minnesota’s first two games in Las Vegas, it would be unsurprising if the team decided it has seen enough from Shannon. Likely to take on a larger role next season due to Nickeil Alexander Walker’s departure, the 27th overall pick in the 2024 draft has looked ready for the task thus far. Among Shannon’s highlights on Saturday were five three-pointers and an emphatic fourth-quarter dunk that got a courtside Anthony Edwards out of his seat. While he may not be a must-draft player in standard leagues, Shannon may develop into a player who needs to be rostered in deeper formats.

With Nickeil Alexander-Walker now a member of the Atlanta Hawks, Shannon is well-positioned to earn consistent rotation minutes next season. The 27th pick in the 2024 draft played well on Thursday, recording a near-complete stat line while only committing three turnovers. Shannon did score 15 points in Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals, but that was a contest that Minnesota controlled throughout, resulting in more minutes for the team’s non-rotation players. With Alexander-Walker gone, the Timberwolves will need Shannon to step forward. While “it was only summer league,” Thursday’s performance was a step in the right direction.

Shannon Jr. hadn’t played more than three minutes in another other playoff game this year, but the 24-year-old shooting guard provided a spark off the bench as the Timberwolves took a 31-point lead into halftime. Shannon Jr. also got some run in the fourth quarter with the game out of reach, but it was a great story to see the inexperienced player outscore MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander on Saturday.

Shannon Jr. will miss a third-straight game, but the difference in this one is that he won’t be given the questionable tag before being ruled out. Jaylen Clark and Nickeil Alexander-Walker will continue to take on a few extra minutes with Shannon Jr. sidelined.

The Timberwolves have made two changes to the lineup that started Thursday’s loss to the Lakers, one due to suspension (Anthony Edwards). Also out of the lineup is Jaylen Clark, who heads to the bench, with Alexander-Walker and Shannon moving in.

The rookie has played well recently, and everything came together for him on Thursday. After recording the first double-double of his career in Minnesota’s last game, he followed that up with a new career-high for points. 16 of his 25 points came in the second half, and he stepped up after Anthony Edwards was ejected to nearly help Minnesota pull off the comeback. Edwards picked up his 16th technical foul, which will likely lead to him being suspended against the Jazz on Friday. That will provide Shannon Jr. with a great opportunity to build on this performance, assuming the technical doesn’t get rescinded.
