Thompson stayed hot on the offensive end as the Rockets won their fifth game in a row against the Grizzlies on Wednesday. The 22-year-old point guard followed up his 27-point effort on Monday with 28 points on Wednesday. Thompson is one of the best rebounding guards in the league and has had at least seven assists in four of his last five games. If his scoring keeps up, he could have a monster season with Fred VanVleet (knee) likely to miss the entire year.

Thompson came out hot to begin Monday’s game, scoring 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting in the first half. That’s the highest point total he’s recorded in a single half in his NBA career. The Mavericks did a better job defending Thompson after the intermission, but he still recorded an excellent overall stat line. His fantasy value has been low thus far, due mainly to turnovers and a low free-throw percentage. However, fantasy managers should not be too concerned, especially with Fred VanVleet (knee) likely missing the entire season.

Tuesday’s opening night thriller required two overtime periods to determine a winner, but Thompson was not on the court for most of those 10 minutes. He exited with what appeared to be a cramp in his right calf with just under four minutes remaining in the first overtime and did not return. Following the loss, Rockets head coach Ime Udoka confirmed the cramping for his star wing. Thompson missed all seven of his three-point attempts on the night, but his willingness to keep shooting is encouraging. Thompson finished with a complete stat line, and there’s a lot to like about his fantasy potential with the ball being in his hands more.

Who said Thompson can’t shoot? Not only was he perfect from the free throw line, but he also knocked down two triples in this game. Thompson will be a fantasy beast this season, but managers shouldn’t expect him to shoot as well as he did in this game. However, if it happens from time to time, it’ll be a nice bonus.

A double-digit scorer in each of the final six games of the series, Thompson surpassed 20 points in Games 5 and 7. On Sunday, the second-year wing recorded a complete stat line while shooting over 50 percent from the field. While he does not offer much as a perimeter shooter, Thompson’s versatility, athleticism and defensive ability make him an attractive building block for the future. His fantasy value took off once he moved into the starting lineup, and Thompson should begin next season as a starter. After entering this season with a Yahoo! ADP of 116, a case can be made for Amen being a top-50 pick in three-point punt builds next fall.

After scoring eight points in the series opener, Thompson has reached double figures in five straight games. He didn’t have a great night shooting-wise on Friday, but the second-year wing provided solid value in multiple categories to help the Rockets force a Game 7. Thompson has also been a factor defensively, taking on the task of defending Stephen Curry for extended periods throughout the series. He and the Rockets will look to eliminate the Warriors in Game 7 on Sunday afternoon.

Thompson’s first four postseason games were a bit disappointing, but he showed just how good he can be with his performance in Game 5. He did a little bit of everything and finished just two assists and two blocks shy of 5x5. What was most impressive was that he even had a successful night at the free throw line and hit his only attempt from beyond the arc. Thompson had an unreal performance and will need to continue that in Game 6 on Friday as they Rockets head out on the road and try to keep their season alive.

Thompson dealt with some foul trouble in the first half, but he was able to turn things around after the break. He was able to deliver decent numbers, but Thompson’s first postseason hasn’t been as expected. Through four games, he has averaged 11.8 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.8 assists while shooting 45.5 percent from the floor. He has also contributed just 1.3 defensive stats per game after averaging 2.6 per game during the regular season. The Rockets will need him to be much better to keep their season alive in Game 5 on Wednesday.

Head coach Ime Udoka opted to treat this game as a dress rehearsal for the playoffs, though he ended up pulling the plug in the second half once things got out of hand. Still, 26 minutes was enough time for Thompson to turn in a full stat line. He’ll be playing in his first playoffs starting next weekend for the No. 2 seed Rockets in what has been an impressive breakout season for the entire team. Thompson’s progression has been right at the center of it, and he should shine in the playoffs.

Thompson played 34 minutes Monday against the Lakers after tweaking his left ankle again during the Rockets’ game against the Suns Sunday. The good news didn’t stop there for the 22-year-old point guard as he was highly effective. Thompson also, as usual, contributed on the defensive end. It appears that everything is fine with his ankle as Thompson continues to live up to the hype that comes with being a top-five draft selection.

Thompson tweaked his ankle during Sunday’s blowout victory, but he was able to return to finish the game and logged 25 minutes. He should occupy his typical spot in the starting unit despite injuring his left ankle for the third time this season just 24 hours before.

Thompson tweaked his left ankle during the first quarter of Sunday’s game, the third time he’s injured that ankle this season. The good news for fantasy managers is that he returned to the game after a brief stint on the bench and ultimately played 25 minutes in the 148-109 victory. However, with the Rockets visiting the Lakers on Monday, Thompson should be considered questionable for the team’s second game in as many nights.

Thompson recorded his fourth double-double in his last seven games after sitting out Tuesday’s game against the Hawks with an ankle injury. The 22-year-old point guard is an excellent rebounder for his position. He’s had at least nine rebounds in 10 of his last 11 games. Thompson’s impact on the game can’t be overstated and it’s great news for the Rockets and fantasy managers that he’s back on the court.

Thompson is back after missing Tuesday’s game against Atlanta. He’ll return to his typical spot in the starting lineup, which will push Tari Eason back to a reserve role. Eason should see plenty of minutes, but he won’t have the same upside that he held as a starter.

Due to a sprained left ankle, which is the same one he injured in early March, Thompson has been scratched from the lineup for Tuesday’s game. Tari Eason is the replacement in the starting lineup, and he should be streamed in shallow leagues until Thompson is cleared to return. There’s no word on the severity of this sprain, but Thompson missed nearly two weeks due to the previous ankle injury.

Thompson returned after missing the last six games and played great. The 22-year-old point guard wasn’t on a minutes restriction as he played 35 minutes in the four-point victory. Thompson impacted the game every which way with 18 points, nine rebounds, five assists, seven steals, and a block. It’s good to have him back for both the Rockets and fantasy managers.

Thompson will be back after missing Houston’s last six games. He will also immediately return to the starting lineup, which will likely push Tari Eason to a reserve role. Eason and Jabari Smith Jr. should still play large roles off the bench, but Thompson doesn’t have a minutes restriction, so Eason and Smith Jr. will be slightly limited.

Reports from earlier in the week suggested that Thompson could make his return to the lineup against Miami, and the most recent injury report indicates that will likely be the case. Thompson should immediately slide back in to the starting lineup, which will push Tari Eason back to the bench and limit the minutes of both Eason and Jabari Smith Jr.

Head coach Ime Udoka said that Thompson’s “one final hurdle” is to go through contact drills. Udoka was reportedly “hesitant” to put an exact date on Thompson’s return but said that he is progressing well. Even if Thompson doesn’t return against Miami, he could be back to close out the week against Denver on Sunday. Jabari Smith Jr. and Tari Eason will continue to be in and out of the starting unit until Thompson returns, though both likely will come off the bench when the rotation is fully healthy.

Injured during Saturday’s win over the Pelicans, Thompson will miss multiple games with a sprained ankle. The severity of the injury remains unknown, but the Rockets will be without their second-year guard for Week 19 (Yahoo! leagues) at a minimum. Fred VanVleet (ankle) is questionable for Monday’s game against the Magic and would help fill the void if cleared to play. However, if he’s unable to return, the Rockets will need to rely more on Aaron Holiday.

While the results of Thompson’s MRI on his left ankle are unknown, what is known is that he will not play on Monday. With Fred VanVleet (ankle) questionable, he can slide into the spot left vacant by Thompson if allowed to play. However, if VanVleet is also out, Aaron Holiday would be in line for more minutes, potentially as a starter.

Thompson fell just shy of recording a triple-double with 15 points, nine rebounds and 11 assists prior to suffering an apparent left ankle injury during the fourth quarter of Saturday’s lopsided win over the Pelicans. He was spotted in the postgame locker room in a walking boot and exited the arena on crutches. There should be an update on his status at some point prior to Monday’s showdown against the Magic, but it looks like he’s going to wind up missing some time. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for the moment.

Thompson continues to shine as one of the most versatile players in the Association. Houston’s point forward has stuffed the stat sheet with regularity since becoming a full-time starter on January 5. He landed awkwardly in the fourth quarter and limped to the locker room, which puts his status for Monday’s matchup with Orlando in question. Fantasy managers should keep an eye on his status ahead of that contest.

Thompson has played 40 minutes or more in his last two appearances, possibly a byproduct of the Rockets losing Fred VanVleet to an aggravation of the ankle strain that sidelined him for a month. Amen is effectively the starting point guard when VanVleet is out, with Alperen Sengun also taking on more playmaking responsibilities. Add in the rebounding and defensive ability, and Thompson doesn’t need to do much scoring to provide excellent fantasy value. Since the All-Star break, he has provided top-40 value in nine-cat formats.

Thompson missed Monday’s game against the Thunder with a shoulder injury, but is off the injury report and will be back Tuesday against the Pacers. With Fred VanVleet (ankle) out, Thompson will be in the starting lineup. His return could negatively impact Cam Whitmore, who played 40 minutes Monday.

Four of Houston’s five starters are on the injury report for Monday’s game, with Jalen Green being the lone absentee. Since Fred VanVleet (ankle) is out, Thompson and Sengun will have additional playmaking responsibilities if available. Aaron Holiday and Jeff Green are two players who may be asked to do more if Thompson or Sengun cannot play against the Thunder. They have provided limited value when allowed to play extended minutes.
