For the first time in four games, Thompson managed to crack double figures in the points category. And he’s been a disappointment in fantasy basketball thus far, sitting well outside the top-150 in eight-cat per-game value. For a player who many fantasy managers were banking on for top-100 value, the season has reached an uncomfortable point. While few category league managers want to move on from a player with Thompson’s defensive potential, it will be challenging to get decent value back in a trade.

Thompson was integral in the Pistons’ victory Monday night. The 22-year-old small forward had 18 points and was a force both on the glass with 12 rebounds and defensively with three steals. The Pistons blew a 21-point fourth quarter lead, but Thompson had a late steal that helped them close the game out anyway.

Thompson’s Thursday evening ended prematurely, as he was ejected for making contact with an official. Of course, the question now is whether he’ll face a suspension in the aftermath. With Thompson done for the night, more minutes will be available to Caris LeVert and Jaden Ivey.

Thompson will be back after missing Detroit’s last four games. Ron Holland should be pushed back to the bench with Ausar back, though with Tobias Harris still sidelined, Holland should play a significant role off the bench.

Thompson has missed Detroit’s last four games, but he’s got a chance to take the court on Tuesday. The Pistons’ injury report remains crowded, with Cade Cunningham (hip) and Tobias Harris (ankle) also questionable and Caris LeVert (ankle) and Bobi Klintman (ankle) sidelined. Ronald Holland II, Isaiah Stewart and Javonte Green could all be in line for expanded roles if one of Thompson or Harris is out against Atlanta. Daniss Jenkins will continue soaking up minutes if Cunningham is out again.

Monday’s game will be the fourth that Thompson has missed since spraining his right ankle. Ron Holland II has been the replacement in the starting lineup, and he’s worth streaming until Ausar is cleared to return.

A sprained right ankle has kept Thompson out of the Pistons’ lineup for the last three games, with Javonte Green replacing him in the starting lineup. If Green returns to his usual bench role, there won’t be much to gain from streaming him in fantasy leagues.

This will be a third straight absence for Thompson, which should result in a third straight start for Javonte Green. He recorded a double-double in his first start but was less productive in the most recent one, though he played a significant role in both. Still, as a starter, he would have limited appeal as a streaming option.

Thompson’s sprained right ankle will sideline him for a second straight game. Javonte Green filled the resulting void in the starting lineup on Monday and should do the same against the Bulls. He finished the win over Washington with 19 points, 14 rebounds and five assists and is worth streaming in deep leagues.

Thompson had 14 points in the Pistons’ win over the 76ers on Sunday. The 22-year-old small forward will sit out the second leg of the back-to-back against the Wizards on Monday. With Ron Holland already likely to move into the starting lineup with Tobias Harris (ankle) and Isaiah Stewart (ankle) out, Javonte Green and Duncan Robinson should see extra minutes in this one.

Thompson was productive on Sunday, with a 14/5/4/3 line, but he may be out for the second leg of Detroit’s back-to-back set. If Thompson joins Tobias Harris and Isaiah Stewart on the sideline, Javonte Green and Duncan Robinson could see an uptick in playing time. Ron Holland will be in line for an expanded role, too.

Thompson remained solid for the Pistons on Friday, getting involved in several areas of the game to help key Detroit’s fifth straight win. The versatile wing scored six of his points in the opening frame and also collected a pair of steals to set the tone early. He collected multiple steals for the fourth time this season and logged his sixth game with at least one steal and block. Thompson continues to be productive on both ends of the floor and should remain impactful as the season moves forward.

It wasn’t a big scoring night for Thompson, but he was still able to make a big impact on this game by setting new season-highs for both steals and blocks. Thompson’s production on the defensive end is what will set him apart in fantasy basketball, and this is the type of performance that fantasy managers hoped for when drafting him. They have three more games this week, with the Jazz up next on the schedule on Wednesday. Utah currently leads the league in turnovers per game, making this a strong opportunity for Thompson to have a big night.

Thompson had just six points on six shots in 15 minutes in the 21-point loss to the Cavaliers on Monday. Like the rest of the Pistons, he bounced back against the Magic on Wednesday. Thompson, who was questionable going into the game with an illness, still struggled shooting with 12 points on 14 attempts, but he collected at least 11 rebounds for the second time in his last three games. He also had six assists and a block and a steal.

Thompson was originally listed as questionable, but is ultimately available despite dealing with an illness. The 22-year-old small forward is coming off a six-point performance in a 21-point loss to the Cavaliers on Monday. The Pistons are looking to bounce back as a team against the Magic on Wednesday.

Thompson is still listed as questionable on the injury report, but his presence at shootaround is encouraging for his availability against Orlando. Thompson is coming off his worst game of the year, though it was by far the worst game for the Pistons as a team. They’ll look to bounce back against the Magic. If Thompson isn’t available, Ron Holland would likely slide into the starting unit.

Due to the absences of Marcus Sasser and Caris LeVert, Thompson has taken on more playmaking responsibilities when Cade Cunningham is off the floor. Now, he joins those two on the injury report for Wednesday’s game, potentially opening up a spot in the starting lineup. Ron Holland may be the player most likely to fill the void if Ausar can’t play, but he offers limited offensive upside.

Thompson continues to play big minutes and produce so far this season. The 22-year-old small forward has played at least 33 minutes, scored at least 19 points and had at least nine rebounds in two of the Pistons’ first three games. With Jaden Ivey (knee) out indefinitely and Caris LeVert (hamstring) missing some games, all the Pistons’ starters are benefitting and Thompson is chief among that group. He hasn’t even scratched the surface of his potential yet.

Thompson has to be one of the best players in the league that struggles as much as he does shooting. The 22-year-old small forward didn’t even attempt a three-pointer against the Cavaliers and was 1-of-5 from the free throw line. Thompson is 7-of-17 from the free throw line in three preseason games this year and a 62 percent free throw shooter for his career. He could make a serious leap into stardom with improved shooting, but for now the Pistons will likely have to rely on Jaden Ivey, Duncan Robinson and Caris LeVert for outside shooting.

He described Thompson as a “nightmare” with the ball in his hands, but it sounds like it was meant to be a positive description, even if that could sound negative. Thompson was spectacular in limited action last season and should take a big leap in year three. If they’re going to put an emphasis on getting him involved on offense, he could end up taking a step towards becoming an elite player in fantasy basketball.

For the first time in this series, Thompson managed to make the Knicks pay for their willingness to leave him alone offensively. The second-year wing took full advantage of the dunker spot in Game 5, with either Cade Cunningham or Jalen Duren (9/14/6/0/2 in 33 minutes) finding him for layups or dunks. Thompson did not shoot well from the foul line, but the improved offensive production made it easier for Pistons coach JB Bickerstaff to leave him on the court in crunch time. Detroit will need a similar effort from Thompson in Game 6 on Thursday if they’re to force a decisive seventh game.

Thompson finished Saturday’s defeat with his second double-double in five games and third of the season. Over the past two weeks, the second-year wing has been a sixth-round player in eight- and nine-cat formats. While Thompson may not be a star within the Pistons’ lineup, he’s a “connector,” which has ensured he provides solid fantasy value. For Thompson managers whose leagues run through Week 23, the Pistons play four games, and Monday’s matchup with the Kings will be excellent for streaming purposes.

Thompson was one of two Pistons starters to not miss a shot from the field on Monday, with Jalen Duren being the other. A double-digit scorer in three straight and five of his last six appearances, Ausar’s 17 points are the most he’s had in a game since February 12. While his season-long fantasy value remains outside the top 100 in eight- and nine-cat formats, Thompson has been a top 50 player since the All-Star break. He should be rostered in more than 66 percent of Yahoo! leagues, as he was after play on Monday.

Thompson left Wednesday’s game against the Celtics late with what appeared to be a nasty leg injury. The 22-year-old small forward was merely dealing with a cramp and wasn’t even listed on the injury report ahead of Friday’s game. Thompson appeared to be fine Friday as his trademark defense resulted in five steals for the second game in a row. The potential is there for Thompson to be a fantasy stud, but he hasn’t provided much scoring in this last three games.

Thompson suffered an apparent leg injury during the fourth quarter, exiting with just under eight minutes remaining and not returning. However, the Pistons announcers described the issue as a cramp when announcing that Thompson would not return, so that’s good news. Thompson didn’t provide much scoring in his 27 minutes, but he did accumulate five steals. The Pistons end Week 17 with a Friday/Saturday back-to-back against the Nuggets and Nets.
