It has been a dominant Summer League for Timme, who is averaging 25.3 points per game. He has a non-guaranteed contract with the Nets for next season, but he has played well enough to earn a long-term deal. Timme should be a valuable role player in the NBA for a long time.

Timme has been outstanding in Las Vegas, even if the Nets are now 0-2 following Sunday’s defeat. The former Gonzaga standout went off for a game-high 30 points, shooting over 50 percent from the field. While his contract is only partially guaranteed until January 10, Timme has played well enough thus far to ensure he has a fair opportunity to earn minutes for the Nets next season. He isn’t an option in most fantasy leagues, but Timme may occasionally be a worthwhile streamer.

While Timme was one of four Nets players whose options for the 2025-26 season were exercised in late June, his deal does not become fully guaranteed until January 10, 2026. Therefore, the former Gonzaga standout has much to play for in Las Vegas. Timme got his summer league experience off to an excellent start, recording a complete stat line against the Thunder. A good run in Las Vegas could open the door for Timme to compete for rotation minutes once training camp opens in the fall.

Timme started Sunday’s game for Nic Claxton, who was held out for rest reasons. The undrafted center out of Gonzaga has had his moments since joining the Nets, playing well enough to merit being streamed on nights when he’s allowed to start. The Nets’ four-game Week 23 includes a back-to-back, so managers whose leagues will be active may have another opportunity to stream Timme.

Beekman and Timme will get spot starts for the Nets on Sunday. Beekman hasn’t looked promising when given opportunities to contribute, but Timme has shown potential through four games with Brooklyn.

With Nic Claxton resting, Timme was set for a considerable role off the bench in this one. He ended up scoring 19 points and pulling down six rebounds in 29 minutes of play. It was a solid follow up performance to the double-double he had in his NBA debut Friday. Timme is still best left on waiver wires as Claxton will likely return to play soon.

Hours after signing a two-year contract, Timme made his Nets debut against the Clippers. Noah Clowney and Day’Ron Sharpe being out meant rotation minutes for the former Gonzaga standout, and he recorded a double-double. There’s no need to add Timme in the aftermath of this performance, but it’s an indicator of what he can offer when playing rotation minutes. The Nets visit the Wizards on Saturday, so one (or both) of those reserve bigs may be available.

The former Gonzaga star went undrafted in 2023 and has been working hard in the G League to earn a spot in the NBA. After being named G League Player of the Week, Timme earned a standard contract with Brooklyn. It will be a good opportunity for him over the final couple weeks of the regular season, but it’s likely an indication of how the Nets want the rest of the season to play out. They are currently tied with Philadelphia for the fifth-best lottery odds despite both teams being on lengthy losing streaks. Don’t be surprised if Brooklyn fully pulls the plug on veterans such as Nic Claxton, D’Angelo Russell and Cameron Johnson soon.
