The Nuggets won’t have Jamal Murray or Spencer Jones for Friday’s game, opening two spots in the starting lineup. Pickett and Tyson will fill the voids, with the latter’s inclusion an indication that Aaron Gordon remains under a strict minutes restriction. While fantasy managers don’t need to consider streaming Tyson, Pickett is worth the risk in deeper formats.

Of the three players signed to two-way contracts by the 76ers this offseason, Sallis was the only one active for Friday’s summer finale. The undrafted rookie out of Wake Forest did not have a productive evening offensively, but he nearly filled his entire stat line in the four-point victory. Given the moves made by Philadelphia this offseason, Sallis will likely spend most of his time with the team’s G League affiliate next season. Jabari Walker and Dominick Barlow are the other players the 76ers signed to two-way deals this summer.

While Tyson did not have his best night shooting the basketball, he did finish the one-point defeat with a double-double. After appearing in 18 games as a rookie, the 2023 second-round pick made 51 appearances for the Nuggets last season. Denver’s addition of Jonas Valančiūnas strengthens their frontcourt rotation, likely making it more challenging for Tyson to offer statistical value after playing sparingly in his first two seasons.

Dickinson spent three years at Michigan before transferring to Kansas for the last two, and he was a strong producer throughout his college career. He’s a big-bodied center with decent touch that can also pass the ball. He’ll get a chance to show that he deserves a spot in the NBA for the Birmingham Squadron, but it’s unlikely he cracks the rotation next season.

After playing two seasons at Gonzaga, Sallis transferred and took on a far more significant role at Wake Forest. During his final season, the 6-foot-5 guard averaged 18.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.3 three-pointers per game, shooting 45.7 percent from the field and 80.4 percent from the foul line. While Sallis did not provide much value as a three-point shooter, making 27.7 percent of his attempts in 2024-25, there’s prior evidence that he can. During his first season at Wake Forest, the guard shot 40.5 percent from deep on 5.4 attempts per game. He’s a solid addition for Philadelphia, but he’ll likely spend most of his time with their G League affiliate in Delaware.

Wednesday’s start was the second of Tyson’s career, as the Nuggets were without their entire starting five. He got his money’s worth by putting up 20 shots, but the second-year forward only made 35 percent of his attempts. There’s no need to read too much into Tyson’s performance; most of the Nuggets’ starters should be back for Friday’s game against the Warriors. He’s unlikely to be in the rotation when Aaron Gordon and Michael Porter Jr. are available.

For the first time in his NBA career, Tyson was part of the starting lineup. Sure, it only happened because Denver played without three starters, but it was still a great opportunity for him. The Clemson product played well in his 20 minutes, but it is unlikely that he remains a large part of the team’s rotation moving forward. He set career-highs for points and rebounds in this game.

The starting unit looks quite different from Denver’s last game. Gordon is back after a one-game absence, but with Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray and Christian Braun all sidelined, Tyson and Watson will enter the the starting unit. This will be the first career NBA start for Tyson. He was drafted by Denver with the 37th overall pick in 2023.
