Towns recorded another double-double on Friday, but the impact was muted. Not only did he fail to record any defensive stats, but the 7-footer was responsible for a team-high five turnovers. The Knicks’ current run of five losses in six games has been discouraging for all involved, most especially Towns and those who have him rostered. Over the past two weeks, KAT has been a sixth-round player in nine-cat formats.

To say that Towns wasn’t thrilled with only attempting four shots in Monday’s 31-point loss to the Pistons would be an understatement; some may even interpret his comments after Wednesday’s victory to be passive-aggressive. What matters is that KAT was more heavily involved in the offense, and while he didn’t produce a good field-goal percentage, the overall stat line was more in line with what he should do consistently. The Knicks hit the road for their next four, beginning on Friday in Phoenix.

After missing Friday’s loss to the Hawks with a stomach illness, Towns was back in the Knicks’ lineup on Saturday. He recorded a double-double, but the efficiency was missing, with KAT’s field-goal percentage being nicked by a 0-of-5 night from three. He’ll look to bounce back on Monday when the Knicks open a four-game week in Detroit.

Towns is back in the Knicks’ lineup after sitting out Friday’s loss to the Hawks. His return means Ariel Hukporti will resume his usual backup center duties and is not worth streaming consideration.

Towns missed Friday’s game against Atlanta and could remain out for another. Mitchell Robinson (ankle) was sidelined as well, which allowed Ariel Hukporti to start at center and for Guerschon Yabusele to fill most of the backup minutes. Robinson is off the injury report, so Hukporti won’t get another start. Robinson will start if KAT is unavailable for a second straight game.

Added to the Knicks’ injury report late Friday morning, Towns is now out. Ariel Hukporti has been the replacement in the past, and that should be the case on Friday. However, he is not worth the streaming risk in most leagues.

Towns wasn’t on the initial injury report, but there is a chance he misses Friday’s game. Mitchell Robinson (ankle) is also questionable and would likely start if he plays and KAT doesn’t. However, if both are sidelined, the starting job would likely fall to Ariel Hukporti.

For the first time in over a month, Towns has recorded a double-double in three straight games. He was outstanding against the Hawks, with 18 free throws being the most he’s attempted in a game this season. Towns shot over 50 percent from the field, and while he did not record any defensive stats, the offensive production and rebounds were elite. He’ll look to build on Saturday’s performance when the Knicks open a four-game Week 11 on Monday against the Pelicans.

Towns fell into the bad habit of committing silly fouls, as two within the first two-plus minutes parked him on the bench early in the first quarter. While the scoring wasn’t there, KAT did grab a game-high 14 rebounds, including a putback of a Tyler Kolek miss with 27.3 seconds remaining that gave New York a four-point lead. Towns and Mitchell Robinson (13 rebounds, two assists and one blocked shot) combined to corral 27 of New York’s 43 rebounds on the day. The Knicks end Week 10 with a game against the Hawks on Saturday.

The Knicks didn’t have Jalen Brunson or OG Anunoby on Tuesday, so even more of the team’s offense ran through Towns. The 7-footer took full advantage, recording his first 40-point game of the season. Add in the rebounds and three-pointers, and this was one of KAT’s best performances of the season. Brunson and Anunoby should be back for the Knicks’ Christmas Day matinee against the Cavaliers, but Towns should remain an elite option in fantasy leagues.

Towns had a brutal night against the Heat, not scoring his first (and only) points until the third quarter. For the second time in his NBA career and first since November 2017, KAT failed to score at least six points in a game. Fantasy managers should not be concerned about Towns long-term, but this was a rough way for him to end Week 9. The Knicks open a three-game Week 10 on Tuesday against the Timberwolves.

Towns finished Friday’s defeat with his 18th double-double of the season and third in his last five appearances. He’s dealt with some lower-body injuries recently, which may factor into the relative lack of double-doubles. However, Towns has still been a top-20 player in nine-cat formats over the last two weeks. He’ll look to end Week 9 on a high note when the Knicks host the Heat on Sunday.

As expected, Towns will suit up after initially being listed as probable. He missed Thursday’s game and will return after just a one-game absence. That will push Ariel Hukporti back to the bench, and with Mitchell Robinson available as well, Hukporti will likely be out of the rotation entirely.

Towns got the night of Thursday against the Pacers, the Knicks’ first game since winning the NBA Cup on Tuesday. The 30-year-old center appears poised to make his return Friday against the 76ers given his probable listing. Ariel Hukporti, who started and played 27 minutes Thursday, will head back to the bench.

After winning the NBA Cup on Tuesday, the Knicks are taking it easy against the Pacers. With Towns and Mitchell Robinson ruled out, the Knicks could be relying on Ariel Hukporti and Guerschon Yabusele to fill the center minutes. Yabusele has been a useful fantasy streamer in the past under similar circumstances.

Towns played well in the NBA Cup, but he could be held out against Indiana. Mitchell Robinson (ankle) is also questionable, so if the Knicks end up extra shorthanded, Ariel Hukporti and Guerschon Yabusele would likely fill the center minutes for a night.

Towns carried the Knicks to the NBA Cup final with a 29-point performance against the Magic on Saturday. He wasn’t the top offensive option for the Knicks Tuesday, but still came through with a double-double. The stats from the NBA Cup final don’t count for official records or fantasy stats, but the Knicks will be back in action Thursday against the Pacers, when the stats will count again.

Towns was outstanding in Saturday’s NBA Cup semifinal, making over 80 percent of his attempts from the field. While he ranks among the best perimeter-shooting big men in league history, not settling for those shots is crucial for KAT. That wasn’t an issue on Saturday, with Towns attacking the Orlando defense consistently. While the Knicks play four games in Week 9, Tuesday’s NBA Cup final against San Antonio or Oklahoma City will not count toward official records or stats, or fantasy basketball.

After missing Sunday’s win over the Magic with a calf injury, Towns returned to the lineup for the quarterfinals of the NBA Cup. It wasn’t a great offensive performance, but he dominated the glass in his 31 minutes. Having Towns back on the floor helped New York advance to the semifinals in Las Vegas, which will be a matchup with the Magic on Saturday.

Towns missed Sunday’s game against Orlando, which allowed Mitchell Robinson to move into the starting unit. He’ll head back to the bench with Towns back. KAT was able to practice on Monday, so it doesn’t come as a surprise that he’ll be available with a trip to Las Vegas on the line.

Towns’ status for Tuesday’s game against Toronto is still up in the air, but his return to practice is a good sign. On Sunday, Mitchell Robinson started and played a season-high 25 minutes, while Ariel Hukporti filled the 23 minutes that Robinson was on the bench. Towns’ return would likely push Robinson to the bench and Hukporti back out of the rotation.

Towns’ absence means Mitchell Robinson could move into the starting five, and Robinson will be worth streaming in this matchup. Ariel Hukporti and Guerschon Yabusele should be in line for some additional run off the bench, while Josh Hart gets a boost in the rebounding department.

Towns is dealing with tightness in his left calf, which is why he is on the injury report. Mitchell Robinson would be the next man up if KAT can’t play, with him being most valuable as a rebounder and shot-blocker. Given his injury history, the Knicks have made a conscious effort not to play Robinson too much at this point in the season.

After scoring 29 points against the Celtics on Tuesday, Towns did precisely what stars are supposed to do when faced with an overwhelmed opponent. In addition to recording his fourth 30-point game of the season, KAT matched his season-high with 18 rebounds. A top-25 player in eight-cat formats over the past two weeks, Towns’ season-long fantasy value continues to edge closer to his Yahoo! ADP (12).

While the Knicks’ four-game win streak ended on Tuesday, Towns had another encouraging offensive performance. After scoring 28 points on 8-of-21 shooting in wins over the Hornets and Bucks, KAT has totaled 51 points on 20-of-35 shooting over the last two. He’s providing third-round value in eight- and nine-cat formats, performing slightly better in the former. If Towns plays on Wednesday against the Hornets, that could be a big game for him, given Charlotte’s defensive struggles (24th in points allowed and defensive rating).

Towns and Mitchell Robinson — who grabbed a staggering 15 rebounds in just 16 minutes off the bench — teamed up to help New York overwhelm Toronto on the glass, 61-40, in a one-sided affair. The 30-year-old big man is averaging nearly 22 points and 12 rebounds per-game through 19 games this season, delivering second-round value from a fantasy standpoint.

After struggling in Saturday’s loss to the Magic, Towns was much better in the penultimate game of the Knicks’ five-game road trip. He recorded his third 30-point double-double of the season, with the 37 points being two shy of his high. Just as importantly for those who have Towns rostered, his fingerprints were all over Monday’s game. Sure, the opposition wasn’t the best, but nights like Monday are why KAT remains one of the top frontcourt players in fantasy basketball. Wednesday’s game against the Hornets could potentially be another good matchup for Towns.

Towns lived at the foul line in this one — nearly half of his 24 points came at the stripe — but even his impressive second-half surge wasn’t enough to keep New York afloat against an unexpected Magic scoring avalanche. The 30-year-old poured in 18 of his 24 after the break, going 4-of-7 from the field and drawing eight free throws during that stretch. He’ll aim to keep the momentum going when the Knicks kick off a four-game week on Monday against the lowly Nets.

Towns recorded another double-double on Wednesday, salvaging what was a rather ordinary night by his standards. He was 1-of-6 from three and missed four free throws, so the percentages took a beating. The good news for Towns managers is that the rebounds, assists and steals were present, so all wasn’t lost from a value standpoint. He’ll look to clean up the shooting when the Knicks visit Orlando on Saturday.

Towns extended his double-double streak to nine games on Monday, but this was not his best performance by a long shot. The Knicks forward/center was 1-of-7 from beyond the arc and never seemed to establish a rhythm offensively. Towns did manage to clear 20 points and record a complete stat line, so all wasn’t lost for those who have him rostered. He’ll look to bounce back on Wednesday when the Knicks visit the Mavericks.
