Towns extended his double-double streak to nine games on Sunday, taking full advantage of matchups that worked in his favor. The Knicks center/forward attempted two three-pointers, matching his season-low, doing all of his work in the restricted area or just outside of it. Towns is providing top-20 value in nine-cat formats, not too far off from his Yahoo! ADP (12). The Knicks play three home games within four days during Week 4, starting with the Grizzlies on Tuesday.

While Towns had his moments during Wednesday’s rout and recorded his seventh double-double in eight games, it was clear that he was playing through an illness that landed him on the Wednesday morning injury report. The Knicks forward/center finished a blocked shot shy of a complete line but matched his season-low in shot attempts. With New York off until Sunday, Towns will have valuable time to recuperate from his illness.

Towns was added to the Knicks’ injury report Wednesday morning, but he’s now good to go. The Knicks will have their complete rotation, as Mitchell Robinson (ankle) is also available.

Towns wasn’t on the initial injury report, but there is a chance he misses a game for the first time this season. Mitchell Robinson will be back after sitting out the second leg of the Knicks’ back-to-back in their last game, so if Towns is out, Landry Shamet could remain in the starting lineup for another game. If not, Josh Hart and Guerschon Yabusele are candidates to start and take on extra minutes.

While Wizards second-year center Alex Sarr has shown signs of improvement thus far, he still isn’t a match for stronger post players. With that in mind, Towns made a concerted effort to attack the paint early and often, and the result was his most productive offensive showing of the season. KAT recorded his first 30-point game, shooting 50 percent from the field, and his seventh straight double-double. From a fantasy standpoint, the lone issue for Towns has been his shot, with the 7-footer shooting 40.8 percent from the field. More nights like Monday will get him into the first-round territory many expected him to reside in before the season began.

Towns has hit double digits in rebounds in all six games, helping the Knicks compensate for Mitchell Robinson’s limited availability. KAT has gotten off to a slow start offensively, shooting 38 percent from the field, but he remains a top-50 player in eight- and nine-cat formats. The all-around production gives Towns a high fantasy floor, minimizing the impact of his poor shooting. A few games like Sunday’s will go a long way toward pushing KAT up the fantasy rankings.

With Yabusele returning from a sore knee that sidelined him for one game and Mitchell Robinson (ankle) also available, the Knicks will have a complete roster for the first time this season. However, while Robinson and KAT will impact fantasy basketball, that’s unlikely to be true for Yabusele, as he’s struggled thus far.

Towns continues to play through a Grade 2 quad strain, most recently looking like a shell of himself in Tuesday’s loss to the Bucks. However, help could be on the way defensively, as Mitchell Robinson (ankle) is listed as questionable. Towns will likely play, and fantasy managers must continue to slot him into their lineups.

Towns was initially questionable on the injury report, so he’s on track to be available Tuesday night. Despite the lingering Grade 2 quad strain, he played 36 minutes in Sunday’s loss to the Heat. Fantasy managers should anticipate a similar workload for KAT.

Towns is once again listed as questionable, as he has ahead of every game this season. If something changes and he doesn’t suit up, Guerschon Yabusele (knee) and Josh Hart would be candidates to fill the starting spot.

While he was whistled for five fouls, Towns’ more significant issue on Sunday was his shot. The Knicks’ forward/center shot 2-of-8 from beyond the arc, including missing all five of his attempts in the first three quarters. Towns provided good value in the rebound and blocked shot categories, but overall, this performance was disappointing. He’ll look to bounce back when the Knicks visit Milwaukee on Tuesday, the first of three games for New York during Week 2.

Towns is questionable for a third straight game, but he was able to play in the first two. If that changes, Ariel Hukporti will likely fill the starting center spot, with Guerschon Yabusele and Josh Hart taking on extra minutes.

KAT has started the season with back-to-back double-doubles despite playing through a quad injury. The 29-year-old big man moved to center for Friday’s game and easily won a matchup against Boston’s Neemias Queta. Towns had 26 points and 13 rebounds. He even made 4-of-6 three-point attempts. Towns’ reputation for playing through injuries since joining the Knicks continues to grow.

KAT was initially listed as questionable, but just like in the season opener, he’ll play through the quad injury. Coach Mike Brown is starting Miles McBride instead of Ariel Hukporti, so KAT will start at center, giving him a great chance to record another double-double in a matchup against Neemias Queta.

KAT played through the quad injury in the season opener after some drama with the injury reporting, and he’s now questionable again. He may play through it again, but if he doesn’t Josh Hart (back) or Guerschon Yabusele will fill his starting spot.

Towns, not officially declared available for Wednesday’s opener until about an hour before tipoff, landed in early foul trouble. KAT headed to the bench after picking up two fouls in the first four minutes and 33 seconds, but he would not pick up his third until the final minute of the third quarter. Towns finished with a double-double, helping the Knicks compensate for Mitchell Robinson’s (ankle) absence on the boards. Ariel Hukporti (2/5/2/0/1) was active in his 15 minutes on the floor, but the Knicks will need even more rebounding from Towns as they await Robinson’s return.

To quote Moe Szyslak, “That was a scary couple of hours.” What a roller coaster afternoon for Towns’ fantasy managers, who will need to keep a close eye on his status leading up to tip off. It’s unknown if Towns will face any restrictions due to his injury.

This is a huge blow for New York, as the team is already missing Mitchell Robinson (rest) and Josh Hart (back). With all of KAT, Robinson and Hart sidelined, Guerschon Yabusele is a likely candidate to start at center, with Ariel Hukporti likely backing him up.

Already without Josh Hart and Mitchell Robinson, the Knicks could be without three rotation players for Wednesday’s opener. Towns, who is dealing with a strained right quad, did not play in the final two games of the preseason. Guerschon Yabusele started the Knicks’ penultimate preseason game, but Ariel Hukporti is another possibility if KAT cannot play against Cleveland. With Robinson out, it’s possible for Yabusele or Hukporti to start alongside Towns if he can play.

Neither Bridges nor Jalen Brunson (11/4/3 with one three-pointer) shot the ball well on Thursday, with the Knicks’ top two scoring options shooting a combined 6-of-25 from the field. However, given their track records, there should not be too much concern ahead of the regular season. This has been an interesting preseason for Towns, as he’s being asked to essentially learn two positions, power forward and center, within Mike Brown’s offensive system. “Not only is he trying to get a rhythm,” Brown said of Towns following Tuesday’s practice, “but he’s trying to figure out what the hell he’s supposed to do when he’s at the five as opposed to when he’s at the four.” Fantasy managers should not be too concerned, but it may take KAT a few games during the regular season to get completely comfortable with the new system.

There wasn’t much to take away from the stat lines of the Knicks’ established core in Thursday’s preseason opener, as Towns, Mikal Bridges (10 points, one rebound, two steals and two three-pointers) and Jalen Brunson all played 17 minutes and did not play at all in the second half. What was evident was Mike Brown’s desire to have his team play at a higher tempo, especially within the halfcourt. Towns was involved in some dribble handoffs, and there were times when he and Brunson were on the same side of the floor as Bridges operated as the ballhandler in the pick-and-roll. Something for fantasy managers to ponder is how Towns’ rebounding numbers will be impacted if Mitchell Robinson remains a starter. Robinson grabbed 16 rebounds on Thursday, with KAT only managing five. That isn’t enough to send Towns tumbling down draft boards, but this lineup would likely impact his fantasy ceiling.

Towns came through for the Knicks again in Game 5 despite playing through a knee injury. The 29-year-old power forward had 24 points as he was able to be Jalen Brunson’s running mate yet again in this series. Towns and Brunson became the first teammates to each score at least 20 points in the first five games of a Conference Finals since Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal in 2002. Despite the injury, Towns played well and seems poised for another big game on the road as the Pacers host Game 6 on Saturday.

No surprise here as Towns is available after he was initially listed as questionable. The 29-year-old power forward injured his knee towards the end of Game 4 and was noticeably limping despite staying in the game. Towns is in the starting lineup for Game 5, but if his mobility is significantly impacted, Mitchell Robinson and Josh Hart will have to step up for the Knicks to extend this series to a Game 6.

While it’s likely that Towns will be available for Game 5, the question is how and if his mobility will be impacted. The 29-year-old power forward was the hero in the Knicks’ comeback win in Game 3 and had another strong second-half showing in Game 4 before bumping knees with the Pacers’ Aaron Nesmith in the fourth quarter. Towns stayed in the game, but was noticeably limping. If he’s less than 100 percent for Game 5, it will be that much more difficult for the Knicks to force a Game 6.

With their season on the line, the Knicks could potentially be without Towns for Game 5. Already dealing with a lingering left knee injury, the 7-footer suffered a contusion when he banged knees with Indiana’s Aaron Nesmith during the fourth quarter of Monday’s Game 4 defeat. While Towns stayed in the game, he was limping noticeably. If Towns cannot play on Thursday, Josh Hart will likely return to the starting lineup.

Towns was the hero in the Knicks’ comeback win in Game 3 and it looked like he might be able to do it again with a strong second half before the Pacers pulled away in the fourth quarter. The 29-year-old power forward continued to play hard down the stretch and appeared to injure his knee late in the game. The Knicks will need a healthy Towns if they’re going to extend this series to a Game 6, let alone pull off a comeback from down 3-1 in the series.

To say Towns played poorly in the first three quarters of Game 3 would be fair. He shot 2-of-8 from the field, scoring four points. The good news for the Knicks is that Towns flipped the switch in the final frame, scoring 20 points and shooting 6-of-9 from the field. Interestingly, most of his damage was done when Jalen Brunson was on the bench due to foul trouble. Towns made some history with this performance, becoming the fourth Knick in franchise history to account for at least 20 points and 15 rebounds in a conference finals game. The other three players were Dave DeBusschere (four times), Willis Reed (twice) and Patrick Ewing (twice). Despite trailing by as much as 20, New York managed to pick up its first win in the series, and KAT had much to do with that. Game 4 is on Tuesday night.

After recording a gaudy stat line in Wednesday’s overtime defeat, Towns was less effective in Game 2. Making matters worse for the Knicks were multiple defensive lapses during the third quarter, prompting Tom Thibodeau to go with Mitchell Robinson as the lone big on the court for a stretch that extended well into the fourth quarter. Despite his performance against Nikola Jokic in last season’s Western Conference Finals, Towns has never been labeled a lockdown defender. That said, the Knicks need him to be better than he was in Game 3 on Sunday, as they trail two games to none.

Towns started off his first conference finals appearance on a high note by setting a new playoff career high for points. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough for the Knicks to get the victory and defend their home court. Towns struggled to hit shots from deep against Boston and only hit three triples in that series, which he surpassed in this game alone. They’ll need him to continue to shoot like he did in this game in order to tie this series up in Game 2 on Friday.
