Already sidelined by a hamstring injury that was expected to keep him out for at least a month, Toppin will miss more time due to the need for foot surgery. A screw will be placed in his foot to aid recovery, and the forward isn’t expected back until February 1 at the earliest. Given the timeline, those with Toppin stashed in an IL+ slot should move on. Jarace Walker is the Pacers player worth seeking on the waiver wire.

Toppin was forced out of Sunday’s matchup with Minnesota with leg soreness, but the injury is apparently more severe. In his absence, Jarace Walker should see additional run, making him a worthwhile waiver wire addition.

Toppin is dealing with right leg soreness. The Pacers are currently so banged up it’s almost comical. Toppin makes it nine of the 18 players on Indiana’s roster that currently reside on the injury report. Jarace Walker could see more action in Toppin’s absence. It’s unclear how severe the injury is at this time.

The debate all summer was whether Isaiah Jackson or Jay Huff would be the more productive center for the Pacers. Well, in their first game of the season, the answer was Pascal Siakam, with Toppin playing power forward. Toppin in rostered in just 17 percent of Yahoo! leagues but certainly has a case to be an enticing pickup as a season-long producer. Jackson and Huff aren’t lost causes, but Toppin seems like the safer bet after one game.

Toppin continues to shine for Indiana. He has scored in double figures in six of their last eight games and in three straight, and his timing couldn’t be any better. This was his second 20-point game of this postseason, with the other coming in Game 4 against the Cavs. Toppin has been at his best at home, but he has had some solid performances on the road, including in Games 1 and 5 of this series. If he can keep it up, the Pacers will have a strong chance of winning Game 7 on Sunday.

Sandwiched around subpar offensive performances in Games 2 and 3, Toppin was effective in Games 1 and 4. Friday was the second time this series he’s scored 17 points, and the high-flying forward recorded a complete stat line. The lone negative for Toppin was his foul shooting, as he was just 1-of-4 from the stripe. Add in some key missed free throws from Bennedict Mathurin and Oklahoma City’s superior play in crunch time, and the Pacers likely feel that they let Game 4 get away. Toppin and the Pacers will look to bounce back when they visit Oklahoma City for Game 5 on Monday.

Toppin has been solid throughout this postseason, but he hasn’t had many big scoring nights. However, after he had 18 points in the Game 6 clincher over the Knicks, he added 17 more to kick off the Finals, with 15 of those points coming from beyond the arc. If Toppin is able to continue to make an impact off the bench like he did in this game, there should be more wins coming for the Pacers.

Toppin has been a solid reserve for Indiana all season, but he hadn’t been as productive in the postseason until Game 4. This was the second-highest scoring playoff game of Toppin’s career, narrowly finishing behind his 21-point game against the Bucks last season. Toppin will continue to play a large role off the bench, but the odds of him reaching 20 points again are slim.

Tyrese Haliburton and Pascal Siakam are out again, but Nembhard, Nesmith and Turner will be back for the regular season finale. This won’t impact the standings, so they may not play many minutes. Toppin and Walker started on Friday and will remain in the opening lineup against Cleveland. Thomas Bryant and T.J. McConnell will come off the bench for this game, but they should still play significant roles.

Due to the Pacers not having Pascal Siakam, Toppin was tabbed to make his second start of the season on Sunday. And he was productive overall, shooting 50 percent from the field. However, Toppin did most of his damage before halftime, scoring 19 points on 8-of-12 shooting. He was 1-of-6 from the field in the second half, but other Pacers stepped up to help Indiana keep alive its hopes of catching New York for the three-seed in the East. The Pacers play four games during Week 23, and Toppin will have value in deeper leagues that remain active, especially if Siakam remains out.

The Pacers are without Pascal Siakam, who will miss Sunday’s game with an elbow injury. Obi Toppin will fill the resulting void in the starting lineup and should be streamed wherever he’s available. That’s the lone change to Indiana’s starting five.

Toppin’s strong stretch continued on Monday, and this was his sixth-straight game scoring in double figures, which is his longest streak since he scored at least 10 points in nine consecutive games in December. Toppin has provided top-100 value in nine-cat leagues over the past week in just 19.8 minutes per game, which is an incredibly small sample size. Still, it shows just how effective he has been. It is quite the hot streak, but small volume success is hard to maintain, which makes it difficult to consider rostering Toppin in standard leagues.

Toppin has had some excellent nights from beyond the arc this season, though they haven’t come consistently. This was the third time this season that Toppin hit at least six three-pointers in a game, all of which have come in February or March, including twice in Indiana’s last five games. However, he has also had some incredibly quiet performances in limited minutes. The upside is certainly there every game for Toppin, but it hasn’t come consistently enough for him to be rostered in standard leagues.

Monday was a great night for former Knicks first-round picks. While Toppin did not reach the 46 points tallied by Quentin Grimes, the 2020 lottery pick came up huge for the Pacers. With four starters unavailable and the fifth ejected during the third quarter, Obi was called on to be an offensive focal point. He answered the call, scoring 34 points with a double-double. And his seventh three-pointer was a shot with 3.8 seconds remaining in overtime, giving the Pacers the two-point victory. Toppin should be picked up if Pascal Siakam and Myles Turner remain out for Wednesday’s game against the Mavericks.
