Boston selected Williams with the 46th pick last summer and initially signed him to a two-way deal. He has been solid and has earned a standard deal with the team. Most of his rookie year has been in the G League, though he does have two starts for the Celtics under his belt. However, with Nikola Vucevic now in town, he’ll likely remain just a depth piece this season.

With Neemias Queta (illness) out, the Celtics will turn to Williams to fill the resulting void. While not a great fantasy option, the rookie has done well as a screener within the Celtics’ offense. The other four starters are unchanged.

With Luka Garza (ankle) unavailable, Williams remained in the Celtics’ rotation on Monday. And this matchup led to the rookie playing more than starter Neemias Queta (four points, four rebounds, five assists and one blocked shot), who logged 22 minutes to Williams’ 26. Following the game, Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla cited Williams’ abilities as a screener as one of the reasons for his increased playing time. The rookie’s recent increase in playing time won’t significantly affect redraft leagues. Still, dynasty league managers should keep an eye on him, even if Williams is on a two-way deal.

While Neemias Queta (illness) is available, he’ll come off the bench on Saturday. And instead of Luka Garza, who played 20 minutes in Saturday’s win over the Nets, it will be Williams who starts. The second-round pick out of Kentucky will make his tenth appearance of the season, with this being his first start. Also, White’s return means that Baylor Scheierman comes off the bench.
