Playing without Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Chet Holmgren, among others, Friday’s game was one in which the Thunder appeared to be at a serious disadvantage. And they would trail by 21 points during the third quarter, seemingly underlining that assumption. However, Williams and the other available Thunder didn’t accept that, going on a 14-0 run to take the lead in the final minute. J-Dub didn’t score any of those 14 points, but his 26 beforehand helped Oklahoma City stay afloat. The Thunder end Week 12 with a home game against the Heat on Sunday.

Williams had a solid outing, functioning as OKC’s main facilitator on Wednesday. He led the Thunder in assists before finishing just shy of the 20-point mark in the overtime victory. Fantasy managers will hope for better shooting going forward, especially from the three-point line, to pair with the current level of playmaking he’s displayed for a second straight season. Finding his rhythm from deep would also help get his overall production up to where it was a season ago.

Williams connected on a game-tying jumper with nine seconds left in regulation but Suns superstar Devin Booker nailed a game-winning shot in the final seconds to snap the Thunder’s four-game win streak. The 24-year-old rising star has been extremely impressive since making his season debut back on November 28, delivering fifth-round fantasy value, averaging 17.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.4 blocks through 17 games.

Williams has leaned into a playmaking role of late, handing out six assists in three straight games while adding seven steals during that stretch. The 24-year-old has been his usual well-rounded fantasy self since debuting in late November, averaging 17.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 1.7 steals and 0.5 blocks over 13 games. The talent suggests there’s another stop on the elevator, but with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Chet Holmgren steering the offense, that ascent may have to wait.

Williams struggled with his shot on Thursday, as he continues to work his way back from right wrist surgery. There are still some range-of-motion issues for the Thunder forward, but the percentages haven’t suffered too much. Thursday was the exception, as Williams shot the ball poorly from the field and the foul line. There should not be any concern on the part of fantasy managers, as J-Dub is providing top-50 value in nine-cat formats.

Williams’ 24 points were one shy of his season-high, and he’s provided fourth-round value in eight-cat formats since making his season debut on November 28. The good news for fantasy managers is that J-Dub has played both games of a back-to-back since returning, and that should bode well for his availability for Tuesday’s game against the Spurs. That’s the first of three games Oklahoma City will play during the remainder of Week 10.

Williams didn’t have the best night shooting the basketball, but the more important takeaway was that he was available for both ends of Oklahoma City’s back-to-back. After logging 29 minutes in Thursday’s win over the Clippers, he played 32 minutes against the Timberwolves. J-Dub has been a third-round player since returning to game action, which aligns with his Yahoo! ADP (26). Oklahoma City begins its Week 10 slate with a Monday/Tuesday back-to-back, and that should not be an issue for Williams.

Williams recorded his third 20-point game in eight appearances this season on Thursday. The good news for fantasy managers is that he’s been immediately productive in multiple categories despite having his start to the season delayed until late November. Over the last two weeks, Williams has been a top-25 player in nine-cat formats, which aligns with his Yahoo! ADP. Friday’s game against the Timberwolves will be Oklahoma City’s first back-to-back since Williams’ return, so consider him questionable for that one.

While Williams did not shoot the ball well on Saturday, fantasy managers will be pleased with the rebounds, assists and steals. His four pilfers were a season-high; Williams entered Saturday with seven steals across six appearances. J-Dub is providing third-round value in eight- and nine-cat formats, not far removed from his Yahoo! ADP (26). Unfortunately, the Thunder play just twice in Week 9, a Thursday/Friday back-to-back against the Clippers and Timberwolves.

In his fifth appearance of the season, Williams recorded a season-high point total on Sunday. The only thing missing from his final stat line was a blocked shot, but that should not concern any fantasy managers. Thus far, Williams is providing third-round fantasy value in eight-cat formats, which isn’t far away from his Yahoo! ADP of 26. Next up for J-Dub and the Thunder is an NBA Cup quarterfinal matchup with the Suns on Wednesday.

Williams was steady in his fourth game of the season. He logged only 24 minutes, which was his lowest of the season, likely as a result of the large margin the Thunder led by before cruising to their 22nd win. In his minutes, Williams tied a team-high in rebounds and made contributions as a facilitator, all while finishing as one of OKC’s top scorers. He’s worked his way into the season rather well and should only become more productive the further he is removed from the wrist injury.

While Williams said after Tuesday’s victory that he still hasn’t reached the point where he’s entirely comfortable on the floor, the Thunder forward’s production has improved from game to game. His scoring output has increased every time out, with J-Dub recording his first 20-point stat line in his third game back from offseason wrist surgery. And while he missed all four of his three-point attempts, the percentages from the field and the foul line were encouraging. Williams has attempted only five three-pointers across three games, and that may be the aspect of his offensive game that takes the most time to get back to speed. But he’s clearly on the right track.

After missing the first 19 games of the season, Williams was available to suit up for the first time this year. He immediately returned to the starting lineup, but with Isaiah Hartenstein unavailable, there were no other changes to the opening group. Williams had a subpar shooting night, but the rest of the production in his 29 minutes was a welcome sight. Williams will continue to improve as he logs more games, with a trip to Portland on Sunday up next on the schedule

Williams is ready to make his first appearance of the season, forcing a change to the Thunder starting lineup. He replaces Isaiah Hartenstein, who is out with an ankle injury. The other four starters are unchanged, with the winner of Friday’s matchup earning a spot in the NBA Cup quarterfinals.

At long last, Williams is ready to make his season debut after undergoing wrist surgery not too long after the Thunder won the NBA title in June. Given the time missed, there will likely be a minutes restriction, even though the Thunder have not released an official number for the versatile forward. And with Oklahoma City boasting a league-best 18-1 record, there’s no need for the team to force too much upon Williams in his first game back.

Williams has yet to play this season, and the Thunder have not offered many updates on his return timeline. Fantasy managers should consider J-Dub to be out indefinitely until the team says otherwise. Keep stashing him in an IL+ slot.

Williams, who was expected to be re-evaluated late last week, still is not ready to make his first in-game appearance of the season. With Aaron Wiggins also out for Friday’s game, Ajay Mitchell and Isaiah Joe will continue to figure more prominently in the Thunder rotation. Mitchell has proved to be the superior streaming option this season.

Williams, who underwent surgery on his right wrist a few weeks after the Thunder won the NBA title, has not appeared in a game this season. While he appeared to be closing in on a return, ESPN’s Marc J. Spears reports the forward was dealing with irritation in his wrist caused by a screw that was inserted to aid recovery. J-Dub remaining out means Ajay Mitchell, Aaron Wiggins and Isaiah Joe will figure prominently in the rotation, with Cason Wallace continuing to start.

Monday’s game will be the fourth that Williams has missed as he works his way back from offseason right wrist surgery. The Thunder have yet to provide a return timeline, so fantasy managers should consider J-Dub out indefinitely. Cason Wallace has been the replacement in the starting lineup twice, with Aaron Wiggins receiving the nod on Thursday when Wallace was unavailable. Wallace is the likely starter on Monday.

Williams, who underwent right wrist surgery a few weeks after the Thunder won the NBA title, did not play at all during the preseason. While the injury is not expected to keep him out too deep into the regular season, J-Dub reportedly won’t be available for Tuesday’s opener. Cason Wallace, Aaron Wiggins and Alex Caruso will all have opportunities to contribute, with Wallace being the safest option in standard fantasy leagues.

Williams, who agreed to a five-year rookie max extension in July, underwent surgery on his right wrist a few weeks after the Thunder won the NBA title. The good news is that he’s back on the court doing individual work. The bad news is that Williams is not shooting with his right hand, with the regular season beginning on October 21. And the Thunder have been tight-lipped on whether he’ll be ready for opening night, with head coach Mark Daigneault simply saying that Williams is “progressing on a normal timeline.” Fantasy managers willing to draft Williams should consider using a late-round pick on a player like Cason Wallace, Aaron Wiggins or Isaiah Joe as an insurance policy if they have to start the season with J-Dub in an IL+ slot.

J Dub is fresh off the best season of his career, posting 21.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, 5.1 assists, 1.6 steals, 0.7 blocked shots and 1.8 triples per game in Year 3. The Santa Clara product delivered a strong playoff run, including a 40 burger in Game 5 of the NBA Finals. Williams will be locked in with OKC through 2030 alongside Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Chet Holmgren to make up a formidable big three in the Western Conference.

Williams is expected to be healthy in time for the start of next season. The 24-year-old small forward suffered a torn ligament in his right wrist late in the regular season. He underwent surgery to address a torn scapholunate ligament in his right wrist, according to the team. Williams played through the injury during the Thunder’s championship playoff run.

Williams suffered a torn ligament in his right (shooting) wrist late in the regular season. That injury makes his performances during Oklahoma City’s run to the NBA title more impressive. The good news is that, according to Thunder lead executive Sam Presti, Williams is expected to be a full go when the 2025-26 season begins. JDub was a top-25 fantasy player last season, exceeding his Yahoo! ADP by a round in 12-team formats. At worst, he should be a third-round pick in 12-team leagues next fall.

Like his superstar teammate, Williams was far from efficient as he and Shai Gilgeous Alexander combined for 49 points on 15-of-47 shots. Despite the poor shooting, Williams made a positive impact on the contest. He finished with the highest plus-minus in the game at plus-13 after recording a minus-40 in Game 6. Williams broke out in the regular season and broke out in an even bigger way in the Finals, as he scored 40 points in Game 5 and cemented himself as one of the best secondary options in the Association. The future looks bright for Williams and SGA.

After a 40-point masterclass in Game 5, Williams cooled off in Game 6. It was a disappointing night after two consecutive strong performances. He also posted a team-worst minus-40 plus/minus, which isn’t solely on his shoulders, but it was indicative of how the game went during his 27 minutes. The 24-year-old will have to be better in Game 7 on Sunday.

JDub put on a show Monday night in what was the most productive outing of his brief postseason career. Shooting 56 percent from the field, Williams notched a career-high point total, carrying over his productive play from Games 3 and 4. While Oklahoma City did drop Game 3, the shift to making sure Williams is on the opposite side of the court as Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has significantly impacted Indiana’s defense. Having to account for SGA’s drives has left the Pacers in challenging positions regarding how they defend JDub, who’s been able to get downhill far more consistently than he did in the first two games. He and the Thunder will look to close out the series on Thursday.

After two modest performances in the first two games of the NBA Finals, Williams upped his production in Indianapolis. In the two games, he totaled 53 points, shooting 17-of-36 from the field and 18-of-22 from the foul line. Friday night, Williams did most of his damage in the restricted area and at the charity stripe. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the charge in crunch time, but J-Dub’s ability to get to the foul line kept Oklahoma City within striking distance. That said, his perimeter shooting must improve, as Williams has shot 3-of-14 from deep in the first four games. Game 5 is on Monday, with the series tied at two games apiece.
