He has scored in double figures in five straight games, though he wasn’t able to supply his typical dose of steals. Watkins should continue to play a significant role for the remainder of the season, and his impact has been consistent recently. He may be a productive option during silly season.

As expected, the Wizards will not have Khris Middleton on Monday, as it is the team’s second game in as many nights. However, it will be Watkins who replaces him in the starting lineup and not Justin Champagnie. Both players should play plenty, especially with Johnson still under a minutes restriction. Sarr’s minutes will also be restricted, meaning a bit more playing time for Marvin Bagley III off the bench.

While Justin Champagnie is available for Thursday’s game, he has been bumped from the Wizards’ starting lineup in favor of Watkins. A second-round pick, the rookie wing will make his first NBA start. Watkins’ offensive ceiling is relatively low, but he may be able to pick up some defensive stats for those who have him in dynasty leagues.
